For the absolutely *massive* milestone of Volume 1000 I've chosen to present two separate blocks of ads recorded mainly from Transformers during the summer of 1985! Each part is self-contained. Part 2 can be seen here: ruclips.net/video/9S_g9hawDW4/видео.html
Thanks to all of my loyal viewers and commentators!

I don’t say this enough, but your channel has gotten me through some pretty rough times over the years. Thank you for continuing to give us the goods in a regular basis. I am deeply deeply thankful for this channel and I congratulate you on 1000 chapters of the series.

This episode has to be among the best I've seen yet on this channel. I was three when these commercials aired and they are among my first memories of TV. I haven't seen many of them since I was a kid and yet I still remember them. I distinctly remember in that Lots-a-Lots-a-Leggggggs commercial at 4:48 wondering why there was a clicking sound when the girl was playing with the antenna. It was in this era my parents decided to wean me off of toddler toys started to buy me some of these toys, like GoBots, but they were careful not to buy me anything too extreme like Thundercats. In fact, I was prohibited from watching the cartoon, yet I'd go over to my friend's house and watch it behind my parents backs, as well as Voltron, Masters of the Universe and Silverhawks - they were so edgy. Good times.

I may still be stuck in the 200s 300s section of commercials, but I've subscribed to you since 2008 when you started with only 100 to 200 videos worth of commercials. Thanks for making these for nearly 15 years now. Also, congrats on getting 105,000 subscribers.

    1000 Volumes!
You have truly brought so much joy into people's lives with your uploads. I personally discovered you way back in 2008, and I knew I found something special.
These old commercials are so entertaining and put me into such a good mood. It's so relaxing to watch these old ads, and many others seems to feel the same way.
Your videos taught me how everything works together to make great television; the shows, bumpers, and of course, the commercials. When ads are done well like everything you've uploaded, they can make a great show even better; and bring back great memories for others.
Through their creativity, good writing, and unique structures and styles, these ads got people to tune in, helped pay for so many shows throughout the years, and were such entertaining experiences that people actually DID want to see the ads.
Thank you so much for everything you've done to preserve this great history. You've shown people that viewers WON'T skip the commercials if they're done well, and inspired people by compiling all these unique interpretations of creativity and approaches of capturing what makes life cool.
    Here's to another 1000! Congratulations.

It’s interesting to see that variety of prizes and offers that cereals offered back then, watching the majority of the cereal commercials in this part of the volume. It’s especially fitting to offer free Dairy Queen sundaes and Wendy’s Frosties at this time period when summer and the hot weather are just getting started. A shame to see that cereal companies don’t offer things like that anymore.
“Gremlins” Drunk Driving and Anti Drug PSA- Watching Gizmo’s reactions to the old man’s lecture on Drunk Driving and Drug Usage is so cute, that, it puts a smile on my face every time.

Transformers, Lotsalegs, Joe's, the Evil Horde preview ad, Voltron bumpers, the Gremlins PSA, *and* a rousing round of the Westchester County Fair! WPIX! Awesome way to kick off 1000 80s videos!
I loved seeing all the Sunday morning stuff here - Channel 11 had everything here and The Three Stooges! Plus the 1970s Sunday Morning Movie intro from Dolphin Productions - Abbott and Costello movies every week!
THANK YOU for the One Dumb Move anti-drug PSA! The rapping teacher was on nearly every day in 1985 and this was such a BIG 80s memory for me watching cartoons and channel 11 was the only station in New York that ever had it! I found out he was a DJ in the Buffalo area and it was released as a radio single! There was also a 60 second version of this ad that aired on WPIX.
The Westchester County Fair was ANOTHER ad that was on everywhere through the 80s and even into the early 90s!
I loved all the other WPIX moments here too the fireworks bumpers, the technical difficulty and the ads with Henry Tillman's "big ideas!" 11 Alive would be dropped by 1986 and the station would just go by WPIX.

I started watching Transformers and other afternoon cartoons about a month later after moving. The Go-Bots commercial in the middle of an episode of Transformers represents my own shift from one of the toys to the other. Those afternoon cartoons and commercials for their toys definitely influenced me to want about four different toy lines all of a sudden.
I have heard people who swore that Blaster was a real working radio, either because they thought it was and did not have it, or they just forgot.
The lifestyles of the rich and famous used to be so distant and a little intriguing before they started connecting with adoring and imitating "followers" on social media.

Congrats on the 1000th of these! Been watching your stuff since even before this account was made so it's crazy that we've finally landed here. More than a quarter into this, I can tell that you picked SUPER well for Part 1 of this incredible milestone. Very, very classic 80's stuff here. Bunch of classics, bunch of not-so-classics, some unintentionally hilarious ones and even some mind-meltingly weird ones (the "Firffels" toy-line doesn't seem that weird, but the presentation of the ad is extremely, EXTREMELY weird and jarring from its focus to its editing so it's certainly gonna stick in my mind from now on).
I've loved having these things be played sometimes while I do errands around the house and to usher in special occasions or times of year echoed in these that I also celebrate so yeah, thank you beyond thank yous for your service and congrats.

"My Country, 'Tis of Thee" is a patriotic anthem dating back to 1832. It does share the same melody of "God Save the King" but it's been an anthem here for nearly as long as "The Star Spangled Banner" which did not become our official national anthem until 1931. It was almost certainly chosen for this ad because it contains the phrase "Sweet Land of Liberty".

And I swear, girls' toys of the '80s (like Real Baby) seemed to be intended on preparing girls for motherhood. For Pete's sake, let them be kids at least a little while longer! Meanwhile, us boys had battle toys (like G.I. Joe and Star Wars), which were preparing us for... war, I guess?

I have this very vague recollection of them. I’m guessing they were probably equal or greater in price to actual transformers, and no kid wanted these knock offs when they could get the real thing for the same price.
