- Questions are being raised about a new pilot program that will give migrant families a reloadable, pre-paid credit card to buy food and baby supplies. It would replace the food boxes given to asylum seekers staying in hotels. FOX 5 NY's Jessica Formoso has the story.

The other day i had no money for food or a taxi for my son. Then i left him with his mom and grandma until i can have this surgery and get back.
I thought about how the migrants are getting everything we worked for... EVERYTHING! We get nothing and they get everything! Civil War will erupt.

Wow. I'm poor and get SNAP (food stamps) benefits on a card but I don't even have the option to buy anything but cold food. The card will get rejected if I try to buy hot food or anything else. You act like you’re speaking from experience. A couple things are wrong with your statement. For starters it’s not “thousands and thousands of DOLLARS” most are using a different currency which here would not be of anywhere close to equal value. Sign an affidavit that the cards will only be used for food? As if they will abide by that. They're already breaking the law by being here, and potentially breaking other laws. Unless the cards are programmed to fail on non-essential items, I don't see this working that way.

It's a scam. I work at a small convenient store and we ring up items on the register and then only enter the total transaction amount into the EBT (food stamp) credit card payment machine. You can buy *ANYTHING* with food stamps -- alcohol, cigarettes, housewares, toiletries, hardware.

I served my country for 30 years and voted Democrat my entire life. I've always considered America one of the best countries to live in. Unfortunately, I have lifelong degenerative ailments directly connected to my military service. I was told via teleconference that I needed another MRI on my back because the time between doctor visits caused the information to be outdated. So, I have to wait another four months for an opportunity to lay in a machine for an hour? After that, who knows when I will see a doctor again. Dammit! We don't owe illegal immigrants anything. However, we do owe our veterans.
The VA healthcare system is an absolute joke. Budget restraints are their excuse for everything. However, when I see illegal immigrants getting free rent, stipends for food and clothes, and their kids given a private tutor because they don't speak English, I realize that I have wasted my vote on a political party that does not have my interest in the forefront of their agenda.
