These amazing girls are learning at least three languages at the same time (Italian, German and English) and have such big hearts to care for all the people and animals around them. Very sweet!
Loved your “Shining” visit to the Hotel Poseidon. I recently bought the novel One Italian Summer which takes place in large part at the Poseidon. A few weeks ago CBC National news showed elementary students in your region welcoming Ukrainian children to their school with Ukrainian flags, flowers and song. Positano is a small town with a big heart. 💕💕💕🇨🇦
I just read that book too and had to google all the things about the Hotel Poseidon. So cool to see Nicki going in there and find out about her history with it.
Hello Susan, thank you for your reply. I just started the novel. I think the young woman who accompanied Niki on the tour is the person the author contacted to let them know she was using the Poseidon in the storyline. Loved Niki playing the piano. Those little girls are just so darling talking about how they are welcoming the Ukrainian kids to their classes. My son is living in Poland right now and has given his apartment to a lady, her daughter and their two dogs. I love hearing about the love these poor people are receiving from their neighboring countries.

It brought back fond memories of my mother purchasing the sheet music of that tune, so that my grandma could play it for her. My grandma usually played classical music, but made certain exceptions...like playing "The Teddy Bears Picnic" for me as a little girl.
I hope you continue to play the piano regularly. If I had that talent I wouldn't want to loose it.

Rosi and Leni, first I have to say how big you two are getting and how beautiful you are. Thank you for telling us about your new classmates, it's very sweet of you to make them feel welcome and safe. Rosi, the peace flowers around the village look wonderful and Leni, you could learn yet another language, to add to your growing list. Skye and Nicola, the place you went for a walk is gorgeous, I would have loved to see more but am grateful to you for bringing us along, so thank you. Nicki, that hotel was so full of character and still looked spotless even though it's not open yet, can't get a better sign than that.

Bravo Nikki! I didn't know that you could play the piano. The Richard Marx song, Right Here Waiting, has always been one of my favorite love songs. The homage to The Shining with Leni and Rosi was hilarious! I have to say that the area down by the stream where Skye and Nicola took Indie looks like a magical enchanted forest you might expect to find in a Lord of the Rings movie. Beautiful! Thank you for bringing me back to the Poseidon! My husband and I stayed there many years ago in the 90s. It was an extraordinary and romantic vacation. I remember the little bar by the swimming pool covered with greenery surrounded by little lemon trees. I cried when we had to leave to return home

We live on a hill with stunning views over Tasman Bay at the top of the South Island in Aotearoa New Zealand. We NEVER get tired of the view and we appreciate it every day.

A few steps further here comes the girls and their mom. Hey I know those girls. It was Elizabeth and her daughters. I got a kick out of that. I know people in Positano.
