Also, just to clarify in case you didn't get it. Karasuno and Nekoma are from different prefectures (Miyagi and Tokyo respectively) and thus, they can only play each other in an official match at Nationals. And to get to nationals you have to win their respective Inter-high tournaments (first place in Miyagi and at least second in Tokyo because Tokyo is a bigger prefecture). So that's why if you don't see Nekoma in the upcoming Inter-high tournament, you know why.
yea, haikyuu is expert on making a character LOOK like a "villain", but in the end it always gives us context and depth to those characters in a way that we start to like them, or at least understand WHY they are the way they are, and turn them from "villains" to "rivals". @@ssjbargainsale I feel like maybe you have many misunderstandings. @@manueldelgado5336 I think I may have made y comment not clear. I meant the team that didn't adjust in time, too late in adjusting. You are correct, I phrased it poorly. Coach donny is the goat 💪
Nekoma vs Karasuno! they have such a healthy rivalry and that's what I love abt haikyuu :) even if karasuno sometimes against a team that annoying as hell, I can't help but I ended up love all of them. This anime is just so wholesome 😭😭
Liberos (Nishinoya) have special rules for when they can switch out with other players, because they only play defense, only play on the back line and don't serve. On Karasuno (and lot's of teams) Nishinoya plays defense full time for the Middle Blockers (Hinata and Tsukki). Sometimes this ends up in him coming off when Hinata's position is supposed to rotate to the front and only having a short time before having to go back in for Tsukki (or vice versa), because Tsukki and Hinata are in opposite positions in the rotation (i.e. when one rotates to the front the other is serving).
"Just a sport anime", Haikyuu manages to make us feel and remember all those times we needed to work hard and succeded, be it in sports or life. Beautiful show.
Kuroo's va is Yuichi Nakamura, the voice actor of Gojo Carlie's "he is going crazy, isn't he?" is so funny to me idk why XD I love how Angelo is getting excited watching Haikyuu! because I felt the same watching it too
Noya came straight back on because he's a libero. The positions rotate in volleyball so if the libero is not constantly replaced then put in back again, he/she would come on the front line which is not for receiving as such. To maintain their position at the back, all liberos are changed up like that constantly. Just wanted to let you know, haha I used to play volleyball as a hobby, really learnt the nitty gritties of the game through this show.
It's about time Ange got his villain arc. It's been coming since the steam incident in AoT. Carlie needs the character development to become the new fan favorite. Haikyuu is the perfect show for that.
i know ange is just joking but one thing that Haikyuu is very good at?? Is that they are only one of the few anime's where there's literally no characters to hate. Haikyuu is the kind of anime where you cant help but love EVERYONE in it. Even if its the opposing team. You wont be able to stop yourself from cheering too when the other team scores hahahahah. I love this show so much!!
Not gonna lie, I was cheering for Nekoma, hahaha. Maybe because I already watched it. Haha. Don't worry, it's not a spoiler. I was like, "Let's go Kenma!" Haha. And yeah, I'm with Carlie with all the feels. Captains in this show, of course especially Daichi, made me feel all the feels. Captains made me cry all the time. Again, thanks Carlie and Ange for reacting to this show!
Just as a little volleyball info: you can't really switch up which hand you use midair, cause you have to jump so that the ball is centered at the hand you use. So if you for example use your right hand, you have to jump a little bit on the left of the ball
Loving how perceptive you two are regarding the characterization of some of our main cast. Just be patient, a lot of the way the characters behave and think is explained and fleshed out throughout the seasons.
Nishinoya or Noya’s VA is also one you should recognize, he’s Genya from Demon Slayer and Katsuki Bakugo in My Hero Acadamia (if you started watching it)
I'm telling you guys, those moments where it shows Hinata's eyes in that terrifying light, this show almost becomes like horror for a minute. Hinata is so determined to win, and to stay on the court, he can't even understand what giving up or becoming discouraged would mean on the court. It's kind of terrifying and amazing simultaneously!!
Noya as libero gets rotated on/off court a lot. Liberos only get to be in game when the set's rotation has them in the backline (one of the 3 players in the backline). He switches with Hinata and Tsukki (middle blockers). Unless the middleblockers are taking their turn to serve, Noya will be the player in the backline as a receiver specialist. He doesn't do overhand moves (spikes/serves), he just receives and pass the ball. It's illegal for a libero to do a spike, basically. I'm not sure I explained that well, but yeah, you'll get used to it the more you watch.
So I want to stay clear of all spoilers as much as possible, and I’ll clarify that I don’t even know Japanese so if anyone can elaborate further please do ofc. But the you noticing at 9:33 that they are opposites is spot on. In Japanese tsuki means moon and Hinata is “sunny place”. a volleybal thing, that the show teaches, but takes a looong time to really explain it: At first the freak quick seems unbeatable, but there's two things called, commit blocking and read blocking, commit blocking is literally commiting to blocking one spiker every single time (which is #7 Inouka was doing). Read blocking you just keep an eye for the patterns, observe the setter and the players movement to know where to act, which is what tsukki and kuro (nekoma's captain) does. Both block tactics are able to deal with the freak quick, it's like what Ukai said, there's no "unbeatable" spike, that's why is great that ukai is using this practice match to force hinata to figure it out how to deal with this, because this is a real match scenario, so if Hinata doesn't know how to deal with it, he might just be subbed out in a real match, he needs to learn and evolve.
