Hi thank you for this video tutorial, @Bryan Sigamoney my cousin and I did the heater valve replacement on Friday 19th August. It took us about 1 hour 30mins to replace and get the car started and running again. Be we both did it, we didn't remove the injectors or harness. For anyone who reads this comment and wants to attempt this please ensure you have the correct tools on hand.
We had an issue from the heater valve coming from upington back to jozi over the festive. coolant went missing, searched for the leak, and struggled. Really didnt know the heater valve is supplied by the expansion tank and goes under the manifold. pulled the pipe off were the the leak was emanating from and the entire plastic pipi broke off..... the car is a 2012 polo 6 1.4i and never had a coolant issue. This video is godsend
Thanks for uploading this video. One of the coolant hoses that connect to the heating flange started leaking on my ibiza. Managed to replace it thanks to this video. Saved me a hefty bill at the garage!
Thanks for the video, it helped! I also did not remove the fuel rail, just removed the fuel line, vacuum line, and unclipped wiring harness. Need size 8 spline (triple square) for the manifold bolts, T20 for the heater pipe to manifold screws. If you need to replace the PCV flex pipe then youll need T30 as well. Mine was going well until the PCV breather split 😭. Another 1200 from the agents. But at least its done.
After watching your video, I bought a heater valve then I became lazy to dissemble everything. Going from bottle return pipe to heater valve, I found out it was leaking from nipple of heater valve, when I touch it, it fell off. 1) bought 2 metre pipe with 2 clamps. 2) Remove the top return pipe from the water bottle and the one from radiator. 3) Run the pipe from the radiator to water bottle behind airbox with the help of cable ties. 4) Use clamps to tighten the pipes. End to end. You've successfully bypassed the heater valve with straight connection. Remember not to disconnect the original heater valve, we've bypass water not air. Check water level after driving 50km still on that level. I've got peace now, I can now put antifreeze without no fear. Your video help me a lot. Thanks👍🏿👍🏿

Awsom video. Thank man... im having a heating problem...but its not constant... Tried almost everything now... Changed the thermostat housing 3 times now. Changed the bottle with the cap. Done a chem test to check the head. Flushed the radiator about 10 times now. Pump working good. Fan working 100s Not sure whats next

I see that you in hindsight recommend leaving the injector rail in place. From the video it would appear that you will battle to access the intake manifold mounting bolts with the injector rail in place. Your thoughts?
As far as I can remember, it shouldn’t be an issue because the intake bolts are not exactly underneath the injectors. Just remember however to disconnect the wiring harness from the injectors and fuel pipes.
I see you using engine flush, I've never used it on my car it's reaching the 200k mark. Would it be good to use it? Are there any risks involved with using engine flush? Love the content as always 💪💪
I would recommend using engine flush especially with a car at your km because it helps clean out any sludge build up in the engine, loosens grime and deposits that's been accumulating so that the engine can is clean and run better, the polo is above 200k and that's why I did an engine flush🙌👊

Super buddy i'm new on your channel i have the same problem with that leak asked vw if they could take a look at it they was quoted almost 5k😅 will definitely change it myself...and just a quick question what could cause hard start when the engine is warm or if parked in the sun but if cold no problems. Like for instance in the morning no problems what so ever only when the engine is warm or parked on direct sunlight...vw polo ..thanks

Which ln key size did you use to remove the manifold? I tried T40 and T45 but they dont fit, T40 is smaller and T45 is bigger than the screws

As far as I can remember, it shouldn’t be an issue because the intake bolts are not exactly underneath the injectors. Just remember however to disconnect the wiring harness from the injectors and fuel pipes.
