Yeah jazz samples are hard…start with some fusion jazz if you can, it’ll ease you into the genre. Bob James, Hank Crawford, Herbie Hancock (70s stuff), Return to Forever, Weather Report, Roy Ayers, Soft Machine, all are great to start with.
Man, this is what I’m talking about, this is the type of community that means the world I’ll. Your references are truly helpful🫡❤️. I’m gonna check these out as soon as I get back to the studio. Thank you, brother.
Jazz not hard to sample imo. Everyone is different tho.
This is my favorite video of yours, I love this format. Very casual and speaking about what goes through your head in your approach to sampling and how we differ is super informative
That was dope Malo, it’s nice to see you chopping up something a little different. Much respect 🫡
Great to watch as usual, love your enthusiasm for the art, stepping outside your comfort zone and just trying things out.
Also not too proud to admit your weaknesses either, very humble, you have a great ear even if not musically trained.
Very dope. Jazz is hard bc of the swing, but if you can get it right when chopping it's legit. Not talking loops! Chops!
That was dope. Thanks for sharing your process
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. Much love
where you get the sub factory? I can't find any information on akai's site
I guess Akai gave him a free license as he's an influencer, and he didn't realise it's unreleased
Both beats are dope. The bass in that second beat is hitting! Yeah Jazz records are tricky. The timing can be off but when you figure it out 🔥🔥🔥
Another Gem! You got ma head boppin once more. Great work, keep it up!
such an artist
MALO -- SUB factory??? what in the wide world of sports mate? clearly akai allowed you to tease this so hopefully we see this soon.
You got it Bro! That was DOPE. Im inspired! Time to work! Thanks for the dope content!🙏🏾
Let’s go! Great beat and video
Yo! Thank you bro really means a lot
Really enjoyed this Malo 👊🏼
Very inspiring content tonight .whooooo keep it up
Gracias por motivar a los que estamos empezando! 10 de 10!
Man this is dope 5:39 the sample also is really known but there is always a way to use it different
Another One....👈🏾💪🏾👊🏾💪🏾🫡...Nice Bro... 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you, brother. I really appreciate you taking the time and dropping by.
Chet Baker - Almost Blue😍 I am going to sample this song too, great choice Malo!
TOTALLY AWE’DDdd ! 👍🏽👍🏽
Dope sample. First time I heard it was from New Malcom X by Sy Ari Da Kid.
HAve a link for Sub Factory? I can't find it
Wow great sample choice, You could make a whole EP out of those two samples. The second Record with the piano, Well piano is always dope with Hiphop, I compose and Use My own piano pieces.
wow what a record...dope dope!
I like this, thank you for quality content!
@@decaystar this means a lot. Thank you 🙏
Guuuud joooob bru!🤓🤓🤓🤓🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
sub factory??
"sub factory" where can i find that instrument?
Malo got the plug 😎
For the chops in this video, when you pitched it down. Do you have the Warp/TimeStretch feature turned on? Thank you goat
A great thing to do when sampling jazz is to sample it with the timing sped up.
yes
The 2nd record was in 3/4 time signature instead of 99% of music you feature which is 4/4. Maybe that's why you couldn't articulate why you chopped when you did? You're basically following the beat - 3 instead of 4.
Hey brother, thank you so much for this input and hearing it from your perspective explains this approach from a different angle. Thank you and I hope to chop up more records with different times signatures as it creates different styles and variations for me. Thank you for taking the time brother really means a lot.
We want that new instrument lol. How much?
I have actually sampled this track like 4 years ago I think
You sure the links in the description are for those speakers?
It's very rare that i sample jazz. If I do that I do it to have a horn stab over the original sample ore a bass to put to the orginal sample i have been working with.
🔥🔥🔥
Sampling is like taking a copy of Mona Lisa and make scrapbooking with it and call it a masterpiece.
This is spot on man🔥🔥
@@malobeatsGreat Response! You are making something new with the old.
Sounds like something Rza would make. Only thing missing was some Wu-Tang sound fx.... 💯
