Here's how I try to describe it to my friends who don't watch a lot of soccer: if you were building a "cheat" player on a videogame, you'd build Cristiano Ronaldo -- tall, strong, fast as hell, with an incredibly powerful and accurate shot and header. He's truly a specimen. And despite all that, Messi is just better at everything except heading the ball -- he's absolutely ridiculous.

Ronaldo is a great specimen of physicality, tall, strong; and he's worked hard teach himself how to use those physical traits to excel in football. But Messi doesn't have any of that. He a diminutive man, not nearly tall enough, not very strong, but he has this t talent and supernatural ability to play football, and even though he puts in hard work, it isn't nearly as much as other players, because to him it just seems to come natural. So as a physical player, definitely Ronaldo is great, one of the best. But if you boil it down to what football really is, the technical ability, the ability to read the game and control it, in all those aspects, Messi is a god. Ronaldo can score crazy goals, but his influence ends there. Messi can do nearly everything, assist, give key passes, control the midfield, score. He's just a perfect complete footballer.
