Ronaldo from ages 29-34 showed how great he was in UCL especially beside players who could provide a lot of chances for him but what makes Messi different to me is not only can he score beautiful goals in big moments when he is given a sliver of a chance but he can also provide opportunities for his team mates. If Messi wasn't so loyal and made decisions based on his legacy instead of what environment he felt best in then there is no doubt in my mind he'd first be playing for Spain and have a Euro and a World cup maybe two and second he would have gone to Man city in 2017 and picked up two or three more UCL titles, but he doesn't play soccer for the opinions of others or to chase the title for the best ever he plays soccer to enjoy it in the moment which is more then admirable.
