In the immortal words of Ferb Fletcher: "Sometimes you just miss."
Levy's analysis is so interesting and a real eye opener. This is a unique look at what it takes to play chess at the top level. Thank you for doing this; few, if any, other professional chess players would.
Levy, don't take this defeat to your heart!! You fought like a tiger in ALL of your games and it is just a momentary lapse of chance. Even your draws are pieces of great fight, so, for me this tournament will be the key in your future successes. You know, Romania had a great soccer team years ago and the trainer who built it always said: "We need to learn to score at least one more goal then our opponents". There were many defeats with this strategy, but learning how to attack pushed that team to win Europe's Champions League in 1987, against every odds possible. You're on a good path, even if you don't feel it!! Great job Levy!!
Still love these videos. Theo is a rough matchup.
Hearing “I’m not at that level yet." from you changed my perspective on how to improve in chess. That "yet" though, very humbling, you'll get that title soon!
Im still excpecting a win from u but if u dont get it its still amazing u drew these gms sooo all in all gj levy and i hope u get the gm title one day
He did aldready win one right??
@@TheMonteGrey nope
I think he drew 6 and lost 2, correct me if I'm wrong
you can tell he is quite upset for making a single blunder that kills him
We need a recap with only Russian accent that would be hilarious
@GothamChess I think the tournament shows one important thing: it's NOT just about opening prep, you have to focus your energy on other things.
I was watching Hikaru's coverage, and he pretty much had the same reaction as you with regards to the levels of play. Now that we've got one game left, thanks for the great insights into your pro games. Looking forward to the next one!
where did he cover it? is it on youtube?
@@CK-jd6yf no it was live on his twitch. It's probably not gonna be on RUclips since it's a classical game and he was doing other stuff in between moves.
@@aamiw99 ah dang it. thanks for the info
@@CK-jd6yf he's also covering the Levy game right now along with the Norway Chess games if you're interested.
@@aamiw99 oh thats great. I just got home from work to watch. Thanks for notifying me.
Hits like this are the ones we learn from the most. Winning all the time is not how improve. Loving the journey, Levy.
I really appreciate that Levy can admit that he isn’t quite at that level. It will just make it that much more satisfying when he becomes GM
Be kind to yourself Levy. You've lifted up so many and deserve the very best. It will come. We feel your trajectory. I have multiple sclerosis and for years needed to do monotonous memory exercises to prevent mental degradation. I played chess as a child, only knowing how to move pieces. After seeing one of your videos, and loving it, I 'lent' into chess. Over time this has taken the place of my memory exercises, with the approval of my doctors, and I'm sharper than I've been in years. I started 18 months ago with a rating of around 500, and just broke 1050 from just watching your videos. You are an inspiration powerhouse that has had a real impact on my life. Thank you and stay strong brother.
Your doing great levy keep up the grind!!
Wonderful recap showing exact moments where a Super GM would wipe the board with the opposing virtual GM, and moments where a strong IM hesitates and falls. I think Elo rating system would be very practical in many other competitive games and sports. You cannot hide from it.
Where’s the next one :((
