I don't live alone and my bedroom is relatively small, so my cozy nook is also my work-from-home setup. My workaround to getting into the "me time" mindset was to get creative with ambiance. After work, I'll always get up from my desk, light up all my mood lighting lamps, stretch, shower, put on loungewear, get some snacks, and put on some ambient music. This little routine creates a new atmosphere even though I'm sitting in the same place all day lol

One thing I have in my little nook that is very tailored to my interests is a gooseneck kettle. It's not too big so it doesn't take up too much space on my table but it keeps me from having to get up to brew more tea 😂

I've not made it past the 45" requirement yet because my house is not big enough to fit another single bit of furniture in it (so I had to settle for the 25" armchair right next to the bookshelf, works for a couple of hours, but it really doesn't feel like a nook) and I hope I'll get some inspo on how to make it all really cosy xD Having a cosy nook by the window where I can read and watch the outside world is a dream which I will hopefully fulfill in the next house!
My nook is my whole bedroom, it's not a large bedroom it's small and cosy and I definitely can't get a chair in here so my chair isy bed it's gotta do double duty lol. I have been slowly adding faux plants and pictures of flowers and mushrooms. I have added light on my ceiling and I keep adding as I find things I like and it's making my heart so happy. At some point when my physical health is better I will be painting and adding wallpaper.

Ok, this is a great cozy nook. One thing I would add is a gooseneck device holder. You can put a phone, tablet, or Kindle in it. Then you can snuggle under the blankets and read or watch shows without worrying about holding your device. 100% maximum no effort. You could also try a remote for Kindle page-turning, but I didn't really like using that.

My favorite comfy chair right now is one of the cheap foldup circular ones from target, I got it for my dorm and have since graduated but it's so so comfortable. I can't curl up in it but I just kinda nestle in with a blanket and then fold up the whole thing when I'm done so I can have space for yoga, working on art, et cetera.
This video is great. I just scored a papasan chair from a Goodwill. Its the metal frame one and its really big. I put it in the corner of my bedroom. I have been working on turning it into my cozy space. Im waiting on the cover I ordered for it . (I took the cushion to a laundrymat and cleaned it. It was in good condition and wasnt dirty or anything. I just want to make sure. I also cleaned the frame to. ) This gave me more ideas. Ty

(this is gonna be a long comment sorryyyy) i almost didn't click this video because i live in a 420 sq ft. studio and i have absolutely no space left for anything, not even a little chair 🥲 but i'm so glad i did because i needed the reminder about intention - a large portion of my work is WFH, and i smartly made a combined working and gaming desk setup that reuses all of my peripherals to save both space and money... but in a tiny studio it's difficult to separate work, gaming, and even making my YT videos, which all happen at the same desk in the same chair. i was prepared to take the "wait for another season" and leave, but i'm so glad i stayed with the mindset of "i can't add a space in my tiny space, but what else can i take away here?" because my $1,000-green-daybed-but-i-swear-this-is-an-investment is a $500+ bright yellow 3-seater couch + convertible chaise/ottoman from living spaces that i bought back when i had a 2-bed with a roommate, and squeezed into my new place. it's functional and it's already my "work is over now" space where i sit for hours and just knit after work, but i never thought to put intention into making it a cozy retreat for myself, making it convenient, or putting the effort into making it an idealized space for myself. all that is to say that this video literally shifted my mindset!!! i'm very excited to be able to start a new home project 💖💖💖💖

It’s not very aesthetic but I recently got one of those gooseneck kindle holders where you can clip it to something and hold the kindle in front of your face in a variety of positions, along with a remote that changes the pages. Game. Changer. You can stay all cuddled up and cozy without holding a book and breaking the cocoon to flip the page.

I have faux Togo Chair (fireside chair) and it is 33.46" W and 39.37" D. I love it, but I also love low or floor chairs. If you are looking for something low and cheaper, you can also get them with the ottoman too under $500. Would recommend if you are into the low profile, retro vibe!
Idk if anyones seen that gaming pillow Valari, but that style of pillow is great for crocheting, reading, supporting your elbows/arms while gaming. I got the frida mom feeding pillow though lol... My fsa paid for it so it made sense to choose that one over valari. But absolutely do recommend it
Just a note about the chair thing: I would absolutely love to have a dedicated giant chair for lounging and being cozy, but it’s just not in the cards for me right now. I do however have a big sectional with an ottoman and a bunch of throw pillows, and the corner is my designated spot. I pile pillows around me, there’s plenty of room to scrunch or stretch out, and I have a small side table I can pull in to hold my snacks and drinks. And the sectional wasn’t expensive either. We got it secondhand on FB marketplace for $300. At when I was a kid and felt more of a need to be alone in my bedroom, I created cozy nook space by treating my bed like a daybed or by setting up a bunch of throw pillows on the ground to lounge on. I love K’s nook, and it’s aspirational for sure, but it’s definitely not necessary, imo.

A good place to look for a chair/daybed/lounger is an outlet mall! Pottery Barn, West Elm, and even RH and Anthro have outlet stores. You may have to transport the piece yourself, but the prices are great. Hope this helps!!
I have a velvet couch that I replaced with a different one when I moved and I regret it so much! My cats would start to scratch the velvet but then take their claws right back out so it only has pricks vs the new couch having giant holes in it and being ripped to shreds!!

So glad you commented this! I actually do have a love sac beanbag as my cozy nook seating and I used it every single day in my library. I fluff it once a month to keep it fluffy and supportive, but if I want extra support for my back I used a throw pillow I got off Amazon and it's perfect.

It’s got a great filling texture to when you plop in you can kinda mold it to your needs, but you do need to occasionally fluff it. That’s the fun part though cuz you get to beat it up lol
i think my bedroom/bed has turned into my nook-- i dont really have another place to have one and i know its not great for separating where i work sleep for it to be my nook but its what works-- if anything this video def gave me inspo on decorating and ideas on what parts of my room/bed side tables i can make a lil more functional

It’s not very aesthetic but I recently got one of those gooseneck kindle holders where you can clip it to something and hold the kindle in front of your face in a variety of positions, along with a remote that changes the pages. Game. Changer. You can stay all cuddled up and cozy without holding a book and breaking the cocoon to flip the page.

THRIFT IT! I got my "OVERSIZED BARREL CHAIR" from marketplace for 40 bux! It was barely used and even though I didn't like the color I just covered it with a bunch of blankets and pillows anyway so. I'm SO happy with it.

Joybird has THE BEST barrel chair. I just got mine and it’s ✨perfect✨ It’s pricey (~$1200, on sale) and takes almost a month for the build/delivery, but omg I could not recommend it more. It’s the Amelia Grand Chair and is 50”w x 50”d… aka the perfect size 🙌

I have faux Togo Chair (fireside chair) and it is 33.46" W and 39.37" D. I love it, but I also love low or floor chairs. If you are looking for something low and cheaper, you can also get them with the ottoman too under $500. Would recommend if you are into the low profile, retro vibe!
Idk if anyones seen that gaming pillow Valari, but that style of pillow is great for crocheting, reading, supporting your elbows/arms while gaming. I got the frida mom feeding pillow though lol... My fsa paid for it so it made sense to choose that one over valari. But absolutely do recommend it
Just a note about the chair thing: I would absolutely love to have a dedicated giant chair for lounging and being cozy, but it’s just not in the cards for me right now. I do however have a big sectional with an ottoman and a bunch of throw pillows, and the corner is my designated spot. I pile pillows around me, there’s plenty of room to scrunch or stretch out, and I have a small side table I can pull in to hold my snacks and drinks. And the sectional wasn’t expensive either. We got it secondhand on FB marketplace for $300. At when I was a kid and felt more of a need to be alone in my bedroom, I created cozy nook space by treating my bed like a daybed or by setting up a bunch of throw pillows on the ground to lounge on. I love K’s nook, and it’s aspirational for sure, but it’s definitely not necessary, imo.

A good place to look for a chair/daybed/lounger is an outlet mall! Pottery Barn, West Elm, and even RH and Anthro have outlet stores. You may have to transport the piece yourself, but the prices are great. Hope this helps!!
You can also keep your extra charging cables in those pouches so they’re not let out on the side table all of the time.

I have a velvet couch that I replaced with a different one when I moved and I regret it so much! My cats would start to scratch the velvet but then take their claws right back out so it only has pricks vs the new couch having giant holes in it and being ripped to shreds!!

So glad you commented this! I actually do have a love sac beanbag as my cozy nook seating and I used it every single day in my library. I fluff it once a month to keep it fluffy and supportive, but if I want extra support for my back I used a throw pillow I got off Amazon and it's perfect.
@@izzywoods794I actually own a BigOne love sac that I use as a bed, but it would work even better as a cozy nook chair! It’s got a great filling texture to when you plop in you can kinda mold it to your needs, but you do need to occasionally fluff it. That’s the fun part though cuz you get to beat it up lol

i think my bedroom/bed has turned into my nook-- i dont really have another place to have one and i know its not great for separating where i work sleep for it to be my nook but its what works-- if anything this video def gave me inspo on decorating and ideas on what parts of my room/bed side tables i can make a lil more functional
