The thing about Karlach is that she is OK returning to Avernus in order to survive. She just didn't want to have to go alone. She didn't want to ask either, because she felt that would be wrong. She would die before making one of her friends go to hell with her.
FINALLY someone understood it. I'm so tired of people excusing not using this ending because she doesn't want to go back. She lives! And then able to come back to Faerun in epilogue! Seeing her happy face was worth it. And it shows that it is not going that bad in Avernus after all. She found blueprints for improved infernal engine in Zariel's possesion, so it definitely leaves us for possibility of best outcome for her.
@@AlexiosLair I literally thought the exact same thing! So many people were saying she doesn't get her happy ending no matter the choice and after seeing her and Wyll return from Avernus in the epilogue, it just made me swell up with tears of joy! She got her damn happy ending and it's fighting demons alongside her bestie Wyll (although I think they're lovers when they return). It was nice because I left Wyll to make his choice on his ending and I let Karlach choose hers :3
@@is12fKarlach said something like "its not that hard in Avernus if you are with someone you love" or something in my playthrough so ig yea they are lovers
That’s why wyll and karlachs romance feel canon, not only do they talk and care about eachother beyond a friendly “I just met you” way but it makes sense since wyll has now no reason to stay as duke but all the reason to save his bae
You 100% can. I romanced Karlach and asked Wyll to come to Avernus with us. He just HAS to become the Blade of Avernus, when you rescue his dad. Instead of becoming the next Grand Duke.
Cigar is completely out of the context within the game. But, it does makes sense that Karlach, who has a dialogue in which she talks directly to the player about the game itself, does it.
Why? They have pipes. Once you establish smoking with a pipe, you have smoking. And once you have smoking, cigars are just around the corner. U. S. Grant smoked a pipe. It was only after someone saw him smoke a cigar that everyone sent him cigars...and he was a frugal man, so he smoked them. (And it killed him eventually...throat cancer.) BUT as anyone who smokes a pipe can tell you, it's not always convenient or easy. You have to stop and pack it and light it and clean it. But a cigar...that's easy.
I'm not sure if cigars actually do exist in Faerun, but tobacco DOES exist in the Forgotten Realms. I believe it's mostly grown in Chult, and is one of the nation's major exports to the Sword Coast. To my knowledge it's mostly smoked in pipes, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that somebody did invent cigars sometime within the Dale Reckoning calendar timeline.
@@Zaxares I'm pretty sure cigars do exist. If memory serves, when Wyll and Karlach are on their date, his secret is that he stole cigars from his father and blamed it on a servant when he was a kid.
My character became a mindflayer and decided to commit suicide to not lose himself. I wish there was an ending where you could embrace her one final time, use psionic's to make the two of you live out final moments somewhere beautiful.
This feels canon to me if I'm being honest. Hmmm now that Wyll is a Devil that means he can have "good" Cambion baby with Karlach! It be awesome if as part of an expansion we go with their Cambion Son or Daughter to save Wyll and Karlach from Zariel! lol (Sigh...one can dream)
I'm in a relationship with Bae'zel. But I was so moved by that scene I almost chose to go with them lol. I had already lost my girl letting her go save her people. I didn't want to be alone either😭. I was so happy at the reunion to hear her say she loved him
It's honestly a little weird that this ending is the same regardless of if you romance Karlach or not. I wish she had some special lines for whether it's Wyll or the player character with her.
I wish, like in some other games, companions you dont romance can form their own thing. This is one such ship I sorely wish they'd get without you having to play one of them.
Yo I'm being serious. I made custom character, romanced shadowheart and this is the exact ending I got for these two. I had no idea that this was uncommon
Well now I understand why she didn’t want to return. I had thought that she could just chill there (a bit lonely perhaps but not fighting for her life every single second either
@@prototypelq8574 oh 100%! Loved their story. But in my playtrough it never felt romantic for 1 moment. And the ending was amazing, but again felt 100% like friends and nothing more.
I play as astarion, complete Wyll questline, save his father and make him become blade of avernus, but i havent romance karlach, then in the end i got burn by the sun and have to run away, cant stay to tell wyll to bring karlach to avernus, they just saw she burning, fuck this end
this scene seems to be bugged in the current patch when playing as wyll, it won't play when you go to avernus with karlach, it always just skips straight to the epilogue party :/
this is not necessarily romance ending. i had my own tav. but in the end. wyll still wanted to go to Avernus with Karlach and i got the exact same scenes. my tav could have joined them but i chose not to
Yeah romance is optional. My Tav and Wyll were together and they just decided to follow their bestie in Avernus. Although, when they all came back at the epilogue party, the game seemed a bit confused about who was my Tav's companion XD Wyll left her with a "I'm going to get DRUNK ! btw, I love you forever, see you lateeer." but couldn't hug him or whatever, when she was able to hug 3 other companions including Karlach in... a kind of a romantic way, honestly hahaha XD and companions were all about "so how is it with Karlach in hell ???" never mentionning Wyll. He also proceeded to explain to my Tav what his father did during the last 6 months, like if he wasn't stuck with her and Karlach in Avernus.
Karlach having a cigar in Avernus is just so... HER. Wish she gave me one. And wish she saved the one she took 3 puffs of. I figure cigars arent really in high suppy in hell.
Small spoiler: I literally have Gale´s true ressurrection scroll in my inventory at that point. Whack Karlach over the head so she is dead. Rip out the infernal mechanism. And cast true resurrection which replaces missing organs. Problem solved. If not you just saved Baldur´s Gate. There is probably another spell caster around to ask any of the other spells that could fix the problem. And the city owes you. For example a 5th level Reincarnate would turn Karlach into another race upon death but still fix her problem. She was willing to become a mindflayer. So a dwarf or eld shouldn´t be that bad. And those are just the solutions of the top of my head. There are other level 9 spells that could do the job. Like True Polymorph.
I agree, this ending just makes me cringe. Personally I did let her die, I didn't want to send Wyll to hells after ending his pact with Mizora. And let's be honest, they have no chance against Zariel.
@@GreaterThanGaming even if they kill Zariel somehow, death of Zariel means Asmodeus is their enemy now. That's when they are really doomed lmao. So yeah still a stupid ending imho

I romanced Wyll and he made me go to the hells with him and Karlach. Not how I imagined our honeymoon but it was either that or let Karlach die :/
This is literally so perfect it should be canon
Yes, I totally agree, and a expansion through level 20 in Avernus would be awesome
DLC about karlach and will battling in hell would be so perfect story

Karlach and Wyll for ever!!

I'm not sure what to do with the endings😢 in Last light inn she literally said she'd rather die than go back to Avernus..
Because she's scared to be there alone. But after meeting her romantic interest she now want to live togheter, even if that means return to avernus.
