Hi, I was wondering if I can use this sound ( no video ) for a software production ? Don’t have much but happy to work out a cost . Thanks

Why does the exhaust temp ("EGT") start out at 136deg? That's way above ambient air temp. And why does it then climb to 780 deg, only to rapidly fall back past 500deg while still running at high RPMs? Did someone cut the fuel and it's still spinning because of momentum? Or is this video out of sync with the audio? As soon as it says "start sequence complete" the temp falls almost 300deg in moments, and I can't imagine any reason why a turbine would do that.

The APU was shut down a few minutes earlier from the previous flight. The 136 degrees is residual heat. The video sync isn't exact, but it's close... Turbine engines reach a pretty high temperature near the end of the start sequence. You see a sharp drop in temperature when the engine stabilizes - fuel flow drops as the engine can sustain itself.

The apu was obviously still hot from being used prior to this start

The 737NG gets a nice analog needle. Gross that it's jammed in the corner of a DU here xD

I think you are referring to the retractable tail skid.

Could someone tell me the maximum RPM of an APU? Thx

The GTCP 331 impeller and turbine run at 62,214 rpm. Not sure what the maximum is.
