Its great to see you covering the broad price range, people who start on cheapies often go on to buy up market ebikes after discovering how great ebikes are. Thanks Micah Toll
Thanks in part to this video I bought this ebike a month ago and use it to bike to work. I love it. I added lights, fenders, a horn, and a new seat, and I removed the worthless kickstand. I agree the 21 gears are silly. It should only have its biggest chain ring. In fact it could benefit from a bigger chain ring than any of the three it comes with. But the power it gives is tremendous for a street bike. I mostly use the throttle, which works instantly.
The 21 speeds make perfect sense. One can ride more confidently, not worrying about running out of battery power, because you'll have the gearing to get you back home!! Genius!!
As a commuter, I have this bike and I would recommend it if you are on a budget. Everything said in this video pretty much describes the bike accurately. If you need a bike simply to get where you need to go this will do fine.
I bought it and returned it since it was too small for me : ( Seemed nice. I still have nothing and probably will get a swytch e bike conversion kit for my e bike.
I just got the Aventon SINCH I'm REALLY IMPRESSED with quality and customer service. My bike arrived with a bent derailleur hanger in shipping. They shipped the bike with an extra part in case that happened and even paid for the bike shop repair same day!!!!! usually eBike companies will leave you high and dry but not Aventon. and with affirm it only cost me 130$ a month
On every upright e-bike I previously built with a mid drive or hub motor, I never missed front gears and 2:1 ratio was enough. Yet with my electric Cruzbike T50 frame-set that I built up, I love the 3.6:1 range of the Nuvinci hub because it extends my eco range.
I have had this bike for 2 years know it was my first ebike and I dont regret buying it. For the money it's a great place to find out if you are really into ebikes. I dont ride alot I only have 400 miles in 2 years but I have had no issues with mine we take it camping and I like how lite the bike is we can throw it any where being only 46lbs. I am know ready to move up to a full suspension ebike with bigger motor and battery. The only thing is all the ones I like are so heavy and big unless you get some really expensive mtb but I dont want to spend over $2500 on one. Anyone have any suggestions on a nice affordable full suspension ebike that only weighs like 50lbs or so? Thanks
We're still on the cusp of inexperienced riders thinking more chain rings up front is better and remnants of volume production of past years - and since single chain rings are perceived as more "high end", those sets cost more (even though ironically, it's much simpler). Until reality and volume production sets in for the 1x sets, I think the 3x sets up front will remain on the cheapest bikes. It's very frustrating. No one ever really needed 21 or 24 speeds (if the front and rear gear ratios were setup correctly) and the inherent simplicity lost is just maddening. Even my last analog bike in the $800 range still had a 3x setup in 2020.
I disagree a lot with you. Firstly is not about the amount of combinations you have but rather the range of ratios, I can climb a wall as well as go over 60km/h in the same bike, secondly, I see the possibility of a second means of changing my gear ratio as a feature, not only it's a faster way of changing ratio as it's also more reliable, plus it gives you the Advantage of reducing gear size when u want to reduce during an uphill, in opposite to the cassete that requires going up to get that, which can be quite problematic during the uphill...I see the one by as an advantage maybe for people that having a bicycle for every type of ride they wanna make, so if they wanna ride fast they can get their road bike, or they ebike, or fs or ht...and so on..apart from that is just marketing strategy.
I wonder how easy it will be to get replacement parts like batteries for this bike? It's always a concern I have when seeing these cheaper ebikes that when the battery finally wears out it will be hard to find a replacement for.
Not at all, though I don't live in USA I can tell you is fairly easy to have someone copy your battery connections with new cells and assemble your case together...you can even buy the cells your own in some cases, which allow for you to get a better deal as well...gonna tell u, I've gotten an off the shelf ebike as well as those adapted ones and having to rely on the brand's price and time frame was worse than having a generic battery company doing as I said
@@jeremyanderson4138 have you looked into a suspension seatpost? The Sr suntour sp12 ncx is usually around 80-100$ and can give you alot of comfort on a rigid bike. Plus you can play around with psi on your tires to try and get some more cushion from them too.
Yes just buy any 42.0V Li-ion charger on Amazon with a matching charger plug. Should be like $25-$30. 42.0V is full charge for a 36V lithium ion battery.
Not super keen on the amount of gears, a freewheel is a low end component and they can wobble if the threads in the freewheel or on the wheel hub are slightly off which is common. So keeping 21 gears working well like can mean frequent maintenance. Surely the hub motor means you don't need as many gears. Still looks a nice bike but not the ideal configuration I feel.
You don't need to or have to use all the gears available? Just have a general set up that works best for the different commutes and stick to those. I noticed I just use the hardest gears most of the time anyway and don't switch them very often. It's always nice having that option tho. It's better to have and not need than it is to need and not have. .
I confused on between metakoo and Vivi ebike. They are both available on Amazon and they’re around same price. I am 5’8. Which ebike would best work for me?
If this bike breaks after a year or so, is there way to get it fixed? I bought a Merax electric bike from Amazon 2 years ago around the same price, and the bike suddenly stopped working during a ride, and the display flashes. The battery still hold a charge (and has 36v), but Merax has been unresponsive to my requests for information such as a service manual, wiring diagram, etc. Will that be the case for all of these unknown name bargain basement bicycles?
Ok . I will put this on my consideration list. Cheap mean I can afford another one when this one gets stolen I'm a suburban rider mostly off the road but next to the road so I don't need one hundred percent log jumping capability 250 watts should be adequate (220 pound rider) and 350 watt should be more adequate. If you get my driff.
You can still get it from their website. But since is not with Amazon anymore i won't trust it. Amazon gives you the guaranteed that if something is wrong with the bike you can send it back but with Chinese websites is a different story

Looks like a good bike for a responsible 12 YO....would make a nice school "commuter". Shift ratio will help a rider get home when they invariably run out of battery. I think the no-throttle is safer for younger riders as well.
I would NOT buy this for a 12 yr old. This bike is more powerful than you think! Top speed says 21 mph however I have the same bike and have topped at 30. The throttle will make this bike fly!! I can use pedal assist and go 45 miles and then use my throttle to get me home. NOT your normal 10 speed and worth the money!
@@goobfilmcast4239 seriously, would you let your kid ride a scooter or drive a car? Probably not, because both require a license, for a reason!! I think the extra gears are to give us some slack should we ever drain our battery mid-ride.

Glad to see a working class ebike. There's plenty of buzz about the spendier varieties, but the sub 1k will make ebikes ubiquitous.
Couldn't they have saved on the gearing and upped the motor at least an extra 150w?
