Hope the fashion of old may be revived to varying degrees, at least with modifications, adjustments or variations, for them to merge seamlessly with modern day fashion and be widely accepted.
Professor Chu is sound on the sublimeness of Song aesthetics. Yes, it was quite unfortunate that they declined in the heydays of Temujin and his descendants. But a dynasty should be judged at its best, and I daresay that no other dynasty had a higher peak than the Song. I admire the Qin for their achievements, but admiration isn't adulation. I absolutely adore the Song for the humaneness of their best rulers and their artistic sensibilities. They glitter even through flat pages.
is the Song when they started the horrible custom of binding and painfully breaking the feet of little girls? If so, in my mind it taints the greatness of the dynasty. the procedure is almost barbaric, and the results are far from attractive or alluring.
@@kalevala29foot binding really started with the late emperor of tang dynasty like towards the end of tang and about to transition to song dynasty...song dynasty simply followed the custom til qing dynasty ended it for their royal women. In song dynasty, only the noble women should be allowed to do foot binding but the ordinary people got fascinated and everyone just followed it
Nice to see traditional clothing worn nowadays too. Especially song fashion is very elegant.
