Gyatso was played by Singaporean actor, Lim Kay Siu. I feel he was one of the highlights of the Netflix adaptation. The connection between Gyatso and Aang feels so real and genuine. They really built their relationship; hammering home how big a role Gyatso had in Aang's life, the love they had for one another, and the loss Aang must feel by not having been there for him (and the other Air Nomads).
I’m glad that Emme is so open minded about the Live Action like I am. They do a good job making the characters and various situations more realistic than in the anime series.
True enough the kids on both sides feel a lot of pressure. At least now we get to see why Azula becomes rather unhinged and intense, they make her a lot more human and we begin to understand how badly Ozzai messed her up inside.

This show really leans into trauma and living through it. I love how they humanise Azula by showing she is as much a victim of Ozai's emotional as Zuko is, but she has no tether to ground her. Also, the change they made where Katara actually witnessed her mother's immolation first hand, is so horrifying, but also focuses in on Katara's pain and fear which heeps her subdued early on.
Also, this episode really nailed that horror vibe, especially wih Koh.
