Grrat to see you starting here - Like you inhad never seen any of the origonal versions, so this series was also my first dip into this world.
As much as I enjoyed watching some TV reactors enjoy this as fans of the original, I'm loving watching you get into the meat of it as someone like me who has no idea what to expect.
Yeah, I've heard of it of course, Naruto and dragon ball but never dabbled. Being that this is a high-end TV show, seemed like the perfect time to check it out.

You should react to “The Quarry”
Would so love to see you react to the rest of the episodes in the series if you think it is possible! Loved the series and loved seeing and experiencing it along with you on your first go at the universe. I grew up on the cartoon as a kid and was really happy with this adaptation of the original material as compared to the movie they tried quite a few years ago. Great video!
It’s really nice seeing someone analyze the Netflix series without seeing the animation first. I feel like a lot of the criticism is done with the bias of knowing the original.
Great to see a reaction from someone without previous experience with the source material (as well as the film making experience of course).
The costume cleanliness does remain an issue.
Sokka (water tribe defender kid) and Zuko (Firebender leader kid) actors have prior martial arts training, which helps.
The comet is a major part of the overall story. Various delestial events effect the abilities of benders. For Firebenders, when the comet appears firebending becomes much more powerful. That is why they attacked the Air temple at that specific time. Little, to none of that attack was shown in the original, bits were learned in flash back as the show progressed. So, the orugonal also skipped a lot of that exposition dumping for the audience (and Aang) to pick up later.

Dude I was watching your Reach vid and I gotta say you should check out Medal of Honor 2010 and Warfighter, the first having it's climax be a parallel to operations as well as John Chapman's final moments on Takur Ghar. I think you'd like it as 2013 Dice was still living off the glory days from Bad Company (another fantastic campaign)
You should totally react to the cinematic cutscene in the new modern warfare games. I feel like you have good input on the lighting and framing in the animation.
Interesting insights, assuming you continue I'll be interested in your perspective as someone who hasn't seen the original, this series certainly has its flaws, there are a fair few changes I would make, but personally I wouldn't call it bad, the original is quite the behemoth to measure up to.
I feel many are a bit to harsh on it because they have seen the original, which is very well written and benefits from being animated, it was always going to be difficult for this show to fill such large shoes, but it does have a handful of moments that I actually wish were in the original.
I was really impressed with the way this adaptation was done. The kids are really good actors and the story beats are very impactful.
If you want to try reviewing music videos, you could try "POP/STARS" and "MORE" from Riot Games (League of Legends). Despite being fully animated, I've seen both videos described as staying true to mainstream kpop (Korean pop) music videos. Both videos also do a great job at selling the individual characters by including character quirks in their animation.
I think its a good show with some hiccups. The Original is amazing and the two shows tells the same story a little different.
For me some of the acting doesnt hit and some of the dialogue is really weak.
It would be awesome if you could cover the original Dawn of War intro cinematic.
Its an older Warhammer 40k game but the intro is really cool, definitely a bit old and crusty though haha

The original cartoon will always be a my favourite, but I think Netflix did a really good job with this, there's a few small details that I didn't like but as a whole I was very satisfied

I would highly recommend watching the original. There's a reason they've attempted to make two live-action remakes.
Facts
If you liked this you should look into the original. Even if you don't do a video on it. The Netflix version they changed a lot of things they shouldn't have and really screwed up the pacing.
All this bitching about pacing. It's an 8 episode series trying to shove 23 episodes worth of animation into those 8 episodes. Shit got cut and shit got added. Don't go into it looking as a remake of the animation. This stands by itself on its own
@illthedabgod To be fair though, the original season 1 was about 9hr, and this adaptation is 8hr. It's not as big of a time cut as you make it sound.
The problem is that the things they cut/change/move introduces inconsistencies. 'Aang can fly without his glider' but then 'he's falling and can't fly because he doesn't have his glider' to only mention one.
It does not need to be the same. It needs to not be 70% exposition if it's gonna be 80% the runtime@@illthedabgod

Aw man, you have to watch the animated series. Everything in the avatar universe starting with Kora, and after is trash, and I mean just hot trash compared to the original show!
This show did a lot of interesting thing, but the original Nickelodeon show did great character work. The dialogue in this is awful for the most part.
