Metal Detecting in the River for Lost Treasure

Mark and I set out on the River to try and find some new sites. It was a grind this day. Our effort was 100%. Unfortunately or finds didn't equate to the effort put forth. We did end up finding a few nice things, but the this is the truth of detecting. Doesn't matter if you're on land or in the water. You will have days like this. Don't let days like this ever get in the way of fun. Typically I don't post videos of days like this, but this week this is all I have. Hopefully we get it done next week!

I realize this day was not exactly full of the coins you were seeking, but the buttons and the buckle fragment were evidence people were doing things in those locations at least 200 years ago. And probably long before that.
Some days, you get the bear. Some day's the bear gets you.
That being said, I did just complete the Hoover Boys Challenge. Loved all the videos, including this one. See you next week with, love the Muck, and whoever else may make it.

That buckle piece is the very top of a skeleton key.
Those lead "bracelets" appear to be solder from old tin cans.

I suggest you do an episode on research. Where do you go? How do you remember what grounds you have already covered on a big site? You have gone back to successful sites quite a bit....because they still produce. Your water sites seem to be quite productive when you go to a known dock or bridge locale. Clearly, research is often boring, but I am sure it sometimes pays off well.

The fossil is a partial pygidium (tail) of a Devonian (380MYA) trilobite, Odontocephalus.

Sometimes it is what it is. That quartz piece of yours, in the top center, looks like the nose of a scraper. So you did find an artifact. And Muck's fossil looks like it could be a tooth.?.? Good luck on next weeks holes! Oh yeah" Muck's Flakes " sounds like a terrible cereal.
