The 296 actually sounds really good.
I'm not too disappointed that it's a V6. The ferrari turbo V8 sounds a lot worse
It sucks that they gotta switch to v6’s but people gotta just accept the fact that regulations are strict for cars now, even if companies don’t want to go full ev
@bioshock9998 it's not regulations lmao. Two ferrari models use V12 engines
@@bioshock9998why Bugatti released Tourbillion with 8.3l V16 or Aston Martin with absolute new V12 Twin turbo for 2024 Vanquish (also have road legal Valkyrie with V12)? 😂
Its not about "restrictions", also Ferrari are giving us 12Cilindri in 2024...
Alfa hybrid 😂😂😂
@@davisasantos6739That same 8.3L engine produces only 100hp more than this 3.0L Ferrari engine and weight a few hundred kg more, don’t forget that Bugatti didn’t even build it
For those who expect the V12, the Ferrari flagship is offering unique things, not just a V12. 288 GTO and the F40 isnt using a V12, but they offer some unique things, the 288 is an homologation special, the F40 is just a racecar with a turn signal, the F50 is using an F1 engine, the Enzo is using an F1 paddle shift transmission, and the LaFerrari is using the KERS hybrid system. So the F80, offer the 2x le mans winning engine with an F1 and WEC technology, so its deserve its possition as the Ferrari flagship.
Im just wondering why people love the AMG-one with IT'S V6 but hate the F80 for having another V6? they both have F1 tech but yet they are treated differently
The Ferrari F40 is a twin turbo V8 and it actually sounds amazing.
I remember one time in college a had an engineering class and one of the projects that came up was a “theoretical Worlds fastest car” so we researched it and through our own studies we all agreed that a electric vechicle can completely void powertrain loss in gearing as well as allow for perfect torque and horsepower curves. You can allow for lower gears to be completely assisted and get instant acceleration of the electric motor and then moving into lower assistance from the eletric motors in the higher revs ranges. Because of this the engine of choice was also a V6 for its potential for a short stroke and large bore, as well remaining small enough that we could add extra material to the block to reinforce the block enough to add turbos. With this the weight savings from the engine almost completely nullified the added weight of the the battery also. If you guys want me to break it down more just ask but this is getting long, *Basically they made a very impressive car and shouldn’t be discounted for being a hybrid* this is way beyond over engineered I do believe they should’ve built a ground up V6 for the F80 separate from the 296 and made it a bit larger but I know that’s not fiscally responsible for them either.
Atleast it's a hybrid, not full electric
Infact it’s mostly powered by engine at 900+ hp from engine alone
Your right! I love hybrids
The Laferrari successor has lost the soul of the original recipe, the glorious V12 😢
Only the broke care about the v12
So true @@2299mikey
@@2299mikeyshit io you dont know shit about Ferrari what are you talking?
@@2299mikeyif you can afford this you’re just gonna understand and accept that engines are getting smaller due to regulations, then continue to purchase it.
@@bioshock9998 actually the Brand makes the most revenue from merchandising and the rename, with this piece of trash i loose respect for Ferrari and this is no longer a dream car.
I love it, it's got a lot of elements from older Ferraris
365 GTB/4 type headlights, Enzo style side profile with laferrari cabin, 499P/488 Pista front bumper, SP3 and 296 fusion rear
20-30 years from now will be considered one of the best Ferraris ever. 2 time Le Mans winner with a classic design
tbh i see more f40 queues than 488pista, same squared front fenders, a rear spoiler. looks like a modern stretched f40. and about the V6, remember that the queen F40 doesn't have a v12 neither and use a pretty priimitive turbo V8 but nowadays no one complains about it.
F1 x WEC technology in a road car, this V6 is much cooler than any recent V8 or V12
It's lame, that's what it is
People want a v12. Not F1 modern tech v6 lol.
@@bluedoom7 As you can see all 799 were sold, so your broke ass opinion doesn’t matter
@@bluedoom7people want older tech that doesn’t represent the best ferrari has to offer
@@Lucianohlegomocswe need The roar
I guess people forgot what the 288 GTO was about along with the F40.....both commissioned when Enzo himself was alive.
It's just an F40 of modern era
No way, f40 looks great, this looks awful
Ferrari put a v6 to their hypercar but put in a v12 to their family SUV.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Damn battery banks have gotten expensive.
Boxy design like 12 clindrii
A flagship Ferrari hypercar and its a V6 instead of the legendary V12's. I know alot of car enthusiasts are highly disappointed with this grand review. So am i and the looks isnt as beautiful as the f40s f50s, Laferrari, even the sf90 is far more beautiful than this f80
it's as beautiful as the f40
Look what they achieved with he V6 now imagine they just twin turbo a V12 could we of seen more than 1200hp without EV assist?
Bravo Ferrari! A car for engineers! For me as an engineer, this car is ideal. I'm only interested in performance and efficiency. A V6 is light and compact, making it ideal for Le Mans racing cars.
And loud engine noises are a sign of inefficiency.
Lol, Aston Martin Valkyrie will smoke this thing.
HELL YEAAHH FINALLY
My grandfather’s fart has more passion than what sound this car produces. Very disappointing😓🥴
It's hated cause no one knew that the V6 came from a le mans race car
Yeah, a hybrid. You don't need a well tuned motor when you're supplementing performance with electric motors. What's next, you're going to argue "but it's an F1 V6!" Like that's anything next to the real F1 motors like the V10's?
Nasty 👌🏾
The f series died on f40 v8
W1 is better
It's better, but they're both ugly. The previous generation P1 ,La Ferrari and Porsche 918 are all better than these two.
This Ferrari F80 is faster than WE.... ONLY 2.15 seconds....is one of the fastest car on the world from 0 to 100....and with a 3.0 V6 😝
@@Happychappy-k1t no way you called the W1 ugly
@@elkidoelkido The mclaren has a turbo charged v8 hybrid and your comparing a 3L v6 lol

300hp per litre.....
V6 hyper car? What a joke 😂
Can you say UGLY !!
The fastest until now.........
And it sounds like a hairdryer

Smh…. Ferrari’s halo car went v6…. Fords halo car went v6…… badass V8’s cars from dodge went electric…. The corvette sounds like a European car…. What’s next? Men dress like women? Shid that happened already……
This is wrong so wrong what does a racecar have to do with road car smh, Ferrari had a V12 on shelf just like the V6 wtf made you think people want that just cause Le Man smh sad day for auto enthusiast
Racing events like 24h of LeMans puts the cars taking part in the event through gruelling tests for 24 hours, this applies to the engine as well, so now you can understand why!
This is the issue, the ferrari supercars represent the best tech of the era and combine their motorsport with road. The f50 has an f1 v12, the laf has an f1 hybrid system, this has a 2x le mans winning engine and power system in a road car, its the best and fastest ferrari has. Their v12 is no longer new and best, their v8 is no longer the best they can make, this v6 is the very best ferrari have to offer
@@LucianohlegomocsI agree with you. This is the current best drivetrain for the car and it’s incredibly powerful. I like that it doesn’t have an electric only mode, it’s just about supplementing the v6 engine.
@@somenygaard really? Thats cool, nice to see that feature
V6 meh
So basically no more trying. Just throw a random engine in there and use electric motors to make up for the laziness and the fact that it's far heavier than it should be. Oh, and make the front look like absolute garbage. Ferrari has lost the plot. I thought they'd hold out the longest on this crap but I guess all the original people are gone. We're left with the left tit suckling younger generation that has no concept of the soul of a vehicle.
Ferrari spelled backwards is “garbage”
👍😎
Their SUV gets a v12, and the F80 gets a v6… 🤮
Says a Chevy Cruze driver
It isn't a simple v6 that you would see in a family SUV brother. It is a Ferrari V6 Hybrid, which means that it has better torque, aerodynamics, and overall hoursepower. Having a V10 would occupy more space for less performance. Remember that the same scheme of hybried motor is used on F1, it is not a random hybrid cars.
Everyone is shitting on it became it's a V6, which yeah, it's a little disappointing, but you all need to remember that this is the the same V6 from the 499P hypercar that won le mans twice

Whoever decided on a v6 instead of v12 should be replaced.
A V12 with twin turbochargers designed to muffle the exhaust as little as possible and have a lot of turbo whistle would’ve been so awesome.
Everyone is shitting on it became it's a V6, which yeah, it's a little disappointing, but you all need to remember that this is the the same V6 from the 499P hypercar that won le mans twice
@ I think a lot of us know the reasoning behind why the platform was decided on. A v12 would be unanimously better. Folks wouldn’t be asking for the v6 that won Le Mans. Even the body doesn’t look great. The la Ferrari is gorgeous. They put a v6 in a car that doesn’t look great, while charging hyper car prices (millions), and producing a lot of examples.
@@randomhero7100 I honestly dont care about the amount of cilinders, per example, the ford gt40 has a v6 and its the fastest ford, the f80 has a v6 and its the fastest and best performing ferrari to ever exist, you really think that the best the best performing ferrari should be like 800k? if yes, i think that the laferrari that has a v12 would be a waste of money bc it "sounds and looks better"
@@blue_klenzThe ford GT40 had a V8 what you talking about

What a stupid engine. What’s with this downsizing nonsense? Why can’t they just stick with V10s or V12s like they’re supposed to in such cars?

@@zucah9774Yes, but it remains an overbred V6, a boring V6. As a mechanic, I can tell you that downsizing is the engine death. Not to mention, the car sounds like a chainsaw. And honestly, just like with the McLaren P1, this overly heavy hybrid system is just useless ballast. I’d rather remove that hybrid system and have a proper big V10 or V12 with real power. I'm almost sure that Enzo Ferrari is turning in his grave if he knew what kind of junk engines are now being installed in his beloved cars.
Everyone is shitting on it became it's a V6, which yeah, it's a little disappointing, but you all need to remember that this is the the same V6 from the 499P hypercar that won le mans twice

FOR A TOTAL OF 500K...AND 3 MILLIONS FOR BUSINESS...
Auto industry is losing soul. What happened to V12?
Its no longer the best. The v6 is the newest and fastest engine they have. Their v12 is the same architecture since the 2002 enzo. The v8 is the same as the early 2010s. The v6 is the newest and best performing engine they have. Why spend the money and development into a new v8, v12 that will not compete well in racing. Ferrari could put a v12 in it but in that case call it a grand tourer. This is supposed to be a road legal racecar, not a flashy car. Dont get me wrong a v12 will always be better than a v6 in a ferrari, but you need to understand this is supposed to represent the best ferrari have to offer
