it's amazing how much the network continues to grow. After many years where things seemed to be stuck, it's moving well now
During watching your clip, I feel when I was a kid, I played the Millionaire game, buying buildings, condos, houses, cars.

Cool ride with the MRT through Bangkok
You should try it the trains are very nice modern and the air con is good.
How detailed was this video... so much information in 30 odd minutes.WOWW!
Thanks for the video Jeroen. It's nice to see that Nonthaburi is also now connected via a Railway line. I used to stay there about 10 years ago. Incidentally, Nonthaburi is a province and not merely a city. Nice video!
เราคนไทย ขอบคุณมากครับ ที่รักประเทศเรา
I love these train updates!! #GTMTime
Me too. Love the purple line it's not far from where I live.
@@ThailandFoodWalk oh that's nice! You're always assured of a scenic commute. :)

What a nice ride 🤙
So many mrt, srt lines.......get a bit confusing for a tourist to use......super video Jeroen.......and......see you in your next video!
If you think this is confusing, try the Hong Kong, Tokyo or Paris train systems. :)
@@sbalogh53 I’ve been on all those, including kuala Lumper, Singapore, London, and probably the craziest subway in the world......New York city!
Nice MRT line and the trains are so clean too.
Good evening. Have a nice day.
like your rides,thx🚲
Early next year, the MRT Purple Line, the south extension will build 10 underground stations and 7 elevated stations 🤗
Mostly is in Old town like Phan Fa, near Golden Mount Temple, Ratchadamnoen Avenue, Wat Bowonniwet Temple. Upscaling Bangkok Tourism.
I am from Myanmar i use to live in BKK from 2004 till 2020
Thanks for the video dude. Always enjoy seeing the new lines and Bangkok views. Can’t wait to be back there later this year trying them out.
I can vouch for the purple line it's great!
Wow, it's you again. thank you for the video
Thanks for the video! I've always wondered 'what the hell is along the purple line?' Now I know the answer is, seems like not a whole lot haha (for a tourist)
I'm cheer for the river boat from Sapan Pranungklao heading to Sapan Taksin. Next time. 🥳🥳
อย่าขับรถมอไซค์ไวนะครับคุณนกแก้ว 😄
New interchange station, wait for boat to Koh Kred Island, Symbol of Nonthaburi Province.
another great one!!
Great video, 👏
1:30 "Doors opening this side".... Ummm.... NO. :)
When I got my seniors MRT card (over 60s) which gave me half price fares, I was going to take a scenic trip along the new Purple line but never quite got around to it. Now I have seen it so there is no longer any need.
I would also love to take that river boat ride to Sapan Taksin one day. I could do a big circle day trip from my home in Huai Khwang via several train rides and the river. If only I could get back to Thailand one day. I hate this stupid pandemic.
Thank you for this video. I really enjoyed it. :)
I hope everybody can get back and travel again soon as well Dexxter :-)
are you sure about these seniors MRT card also for expats? thx
Veel plezier, ik kijk hem vanavond thuis even terug
Thank you for the nice video will wait to come to Thailand probable 2022

Maybe early 2021 started constuction MRT Purple line extension (PP16 Tao Poon station - PP33 Kru Nai station) The constraction was done in 2027.There are underground stations, floting stations and route through the Chaopraya river. MRT PPL extension connect MRT Orange line (project), MRT Blue line (BL30 SamYod station) and BTS Gold line (project).

Bkk needs more green areas, more spaces where people can be active, more off-road cycle paths, and billions more trees.
They are coming, more natural parks are under construction, and Bangkok has more green compare to many other big cities around the world.
Jeroen, could I suggest adding a map at the front showing from & too on the new line trips? It would really make these videos even better than they are, and I have to tell you, on our 4k big screen at home, they’re amazing!
Welcome to my neck of the woods……Bangyai
Another interesting vid. Could you maybe show the ticket machines next time so i can see if there are any 3 day/weekly or 10-day transport tickets you can buy also? Thankyou!
This line connected Bangkok and Nonthaburi province.
Welcome to Nonthaburi with mrt purple line.
It was a long time coming to Bang yai that was - but at least it's here now.
@@ThailandFoodWalk Bang Yai now growing more than before

Hi wats up?
Are these trains diesel propelled or electric as I always wondered? Another great video Jeroen.
Electric
@@sbalogh53 Thanks I always wanted to know.
There's no overhead electric power line so you don't see it. It use the third rail and hot shoe for power transmission.
@@kittenastrophy5951 Thanks for info.
It is really high....😫
Bangyai is a low residential area, single families houses. Sadly not much people uses the line as in the city centre.

The purple line is the line that Reduce the use of private cars for working people in Bangkok. with a house in the suburbs before covid 19 outbreak The purple line is used by a lot of people.
You're so wrong. And why on earth thai people must reside only on the high rise? it's definitely not in our culture.
Why is it called Central Westgate? It's not in west Bangkok, it's north and it's not even in Bangkok it's in Nonthaburi and there is no gate there
Haha, we should ask Central about that. 555
Just the name. Nothing's related to what you mentioned.
That area its is west of Bangkok, and the way to west of Thailand
Central Westgate is located where several roads and highways connect. It aims to serve travelers from the motorway, Kanchanaphisek and Rattanathibet roads, the MRT Purple Line, and a future expressway which will run northwest to Dawei, a port being built by Thailand and Myanmar on the Andaman Sea.

Why doesnt the purple line go to Bang Sue!?! it stresses me out! :O
They connected with MRT line which is one station away from Taopoon station(Purple line)
@@majupeetube yeah but it’s not directly connected. It’s so weird it’s literally 500ft away
@@sjwilkin The reason they not connect with BangSue station, because it is 1k.m.away from Taopoon station. Now they've connected the MRT blue line and the Purple line at Taopoon station.
Now MRT blue line has completed their loop line. I will put the map at below link for you.
@@majupeetube I know this. I don’t understand why the purple line didn’t intentionally go into bang sue. Like why did they decide to go down the other road and miss bang sue by 800 metres - weird decision
@@sjwilkin This is my opinion. I think they plan to build MRT blue line to that direction anyway which is passing the Taopoon station. So the purple line doesn't have to spend another 100M USD to build just to connect direct to the BangSue station(according to the cost of making underground tunnel and station for 1k.m. or 50M USD to build sky train for 1 k.m.) That's why they connected with the Taopoon station in order to save cost).
More shopping centres, more acres of cement, more high rise condos, very little green spaces. Modern Bkk is not very appealing. To be better,
Bkk has been developed toward this direction for more than 50 yrs. I hope it will be balanced with the green area someday.
