    This is the most important topic you’ve covered. Especially for people with anxiety/panic attack symptoms. The amygdala feeds on behaviors - you have to prove to your brain that you are actually okay. That even means living your life while in pain/scared/anxious for a while

    Hey man. 20 year old who had chronic fatigue for the past year and a half, here. I've spent hundreds on supplements but i've never felt recovered until i found you and other similar people. Thank you for what you do. Onlookers, no this is not some paid comment lol, the stuff this dude is saying is REAL. At least, in my case. Dealing with severe stress for a super long period of time is bound to have abnormal effects on the body.

    Great video Dan!
    I resolved most of my emotional / mental conflicts in the past 2 years.
    Which is huge for to be told by specialists that I had experienced too much stuff for too long bla-bla bla..
    The physical component is my last hurdle / conflict..
    I’m tackling it with a slow but steady approach, which prevents me from crashing hard afterwards.. some things may seem ridiculous to a ´normal ‘ person but I don’t care.
    It’s MY recovery and I follow MY biological needs and capabilities / capacities.
    I will update my progress over time!

    Thanks Dan for all your wonderful and supportive content! I like to call increased movement, conditioning. It's very normal for our body to condition into longer or harder activities. Like you said, don't go from zero to full activity overnight. All athletes have to work their way over time to reach their goal. So what I tell my brain is that I am "conditioning" my way into feeling good, step by step, like even "healthy" people do. It's VERY normal! I'm not holding back because I don't think I can do it, I'm conditioning myself to be successful like any trainer would probably tell you. This works for other things besides exercise that I am trying to introduce back into my life.

I now put lotion oil on my body because my skin is looking fabulous and that’s why I’m doing it and I’m learning how to exercise not for pain because I wanna know what it’s like to be strong again. I’m gonna come out of this 100% thank you Dan, when I started, I was full of anxiety. I had so much anxiety. It was hard for me to even believe anything that was spoken to me, there was so much frustration that came with all those years of not sleeping in pain. but I kept with this way of thinking and anxiety and the frustration is leaving me. I’m a better person for finding your channel. Thank you. and I won’t give up because this is the truth. What you say is the truth, my emotions, creating feelings in my body and pain where there’s nothing wrong is the lie I stay with the truth and I will stay with you listening to your words and keeping myself strong, my best to all of you out there, who are listening when you have that first night that you sleep more than three hours and you wake up happy I had a win because I did that for the first time last night finally ,😊and I am really learning. It’s an interesting conflict. I was just listening to Alan Gordon’s book and he recommends to keep doing the things that bring your pain down, whether it be stretching, heat, TENS, Rest, whatever, because if your pain levels are lower your brain feels safer. But I can see how that reinforces the message that your problem is physical. Perhaps if we can continue doing those things with the mindset that they are comforting, they are messages of safety and self-care and self-compassion, but not because we believe they are treating a physical malady. It’s all in the mindset around them, like everything else.

    • @Planty-Mandy
      @Planty-Mandy 8 месяцев назад

      I like the thought that healthy athletes still do a lot of these things in order to keep their bodies in top condition. Maybe they can be tools toward getting back into shape rather than treating physical conditions. Just thinking out loud.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  8 месяцев назад

      There is a big difference in the intent and the interpretation by our brains. Exercise for overall health and well being is great. When we treat physical conditions that are created by TMS/PDP, we are conveying our body is the problem.

    Could you please clarify, are you saying we should stop doing things like stretching and strengthening? I understand that we need to cut back on the fixing mentality, but practically speaking if your muscles are so tight that you're struggling to do basic things like walking, stretching can prevent further injury, even if its effects are temporary. I also had chronic si joint pain for many months, and it completely went away when I did consistent core strengthening. In the summer I was also getting these weird pins and needle sensations in my back when I would lie down, and when I started doing stretches to get the upper back moving, those symptoms completely went away. None of these things would show up on an MRI, but muscles and myofasia can impact our overall health and symptoms

      That is proof that your brain is controlling the symptoms. Messages of safety may convince the brain a part of your body is okay, but the brain is still on high alert and may perceive some other type of danger. Symptoms can jump around. This is a timely topic as I asked a related question days ago but I there was no answer given. I used to use my mind reducing my pain when I was a youngster by imagining a faucet attached to me and turning it open had my pain flow out of me onto the floor. Even now I can think my pain to a lower level but it only works while I really concentrate on reducing it.
    Currently I have central sensitization (allodynia) on my whole body and I yes believe it can go away. But I am on three medications that have reduced my symptoms Without two of them (third is just icing on the cake) I would be curled up in a ball pleading, "Please stop, please stop,...). Without the medications I would be overwhelmed by the pain. But if taking my medication tells my brain I think there is a real problem then my brain will not be able to heal me. I do not know how to approach my recovery, how to tell my body it is safe while taking my medication.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  8 месяцев назад +2

      Don't worry about sending the wrong message by taking meds. My stance on that is that if the meds are benefitting you, view them as self kindness and compassion, but not a cure. Take them until this mindbody work gets you to a point where you no longer need the medication. Then you can work with your doctor to safety stop or taper down the medications.

      What are you expecting the supplements to do? They do not cure TMS/Perceived Danger Pains or Symptoms.

    I was convinced and did a hot yoga class for 1 hour. Now, 2nd day, I’m in excruciating pain. I can’t even lie in bed because that hurts too,

      had something like that (adding a small exercise for only 1 minute!) a week ago. But because of applying the knowledge and safety messages, I recovered much faster than I did ever before, in a few days instead of months. You can start smaller so the message that it's safe can sink in more gradually. Just keep giving messages of safety, it works.

      Yes, it can happen because the brain perceived the hot yoga as dangerous. But it wasn't. Rewatch this video and take not about the gradual introduction of activity AND setting the right expectation AND - most importantly, how you respond to the increase in symptoms.

      What if with work you don't have luxury perse to gradually expose yourself? Can it still work if you jump into it and just be okay with symptoms?
