I just realized how this song redefines the word cheat.
Like for example, you didn't do the physical act of "cheating" but you acted like you did. You slowly separated yourself from your lover to be with another person, which would be considered cheating, but they didn't go out and kiss or anything. They did not physically cheat. But they did , just not physically. They acted like the other person was their lover, thought about them every second of the day, thought of them as their lover. And when they finally did break up, they went straight to their second lover.
