Mike, well done! I was sold on the Eray from the get go. The extra HP and all wheel drive is such a great addition. It was such a great idea to get current Stingray and ZO6 owners to drive it. Good on you!
I got mine this month and it has exceeded my expectations 10x and I have owned multiple vettes and c8s. This one is like no other and so glad I was able to get one before the word gets out.😅😊

I believe the additional performance is worth the cost but for me my 2023 non Z51 HTC stingray is a better choice. My last Corvette was my daily driver for 15 years so long term reliability & cost of ownership is a big factor. I have no plans for the track and sampling the sweet acceleration of the Eray on public highways is an invitation to tickets and higher insurance premiums.
This is the way I've been feeling. I didn't expect the Z06 to be as dependable as it is and that's been cause for a bit of pause, but I think I'm still leaning towards the Eray. I'm biased towards wide bodies and that's a must for me. The ariel views of both cars is excellent. 160 more HP, and in the important area!!

Went to dealer last week to order a 25 Z06 and ended up leaving to rethink my decision due to a Eray on the showroom floor. After research and many RUclips videos, I ended up ordering a 25 Eray. Acceleration along with the AWD, and the ability to drive it casually without the engine drone on a road trip with the wife sold me.

I received my Eray about a month ago. Drove a used 911 turbo and the eray is faster if just a bit less sharp in hard cornering. 140 all in with carbon everything and 3lz. It’s shocking how hard it launches. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.
Great video but painful to watch for those of us who have had deposits for several years at the big vett dealerships. Horrible roll out for a car GM just cannot deliver to the masses that want it. Small dealers that have one to sell want ADM. That would be stupid when they finally start rolling out in mass and with a discount!
I had the E Ray personalized license plate but I let it go because after I had heard the price of the ERay I didn’t think it was worth it. It’s about $40k more than a Stingray. I really do like it but it’s very expensive
I agree it’s out of my price range the C8 has some good discounts. The best thing is if you own a paid off vehicle like a Corvette or ZL1 Camaro and sell it so you can put a good down payment on the C8. I have a ZL1 but I don’t think I should sell it yet I love it but want a C8 so I’m not sure yet.Good luck
Most people intuitively understand that a car that costs 30, 40, 50k more is going to be better - They would be upset if it wasn't. As always, it depends on the need of the customer at that time. 30-40k isn't much when you're at retirement age, and your investments have done the heavy lifting, but if you're younger, the value proposition of the stingray is more than enough, and the extra 30-40k isn't worth the slight improvements. There is a point of diminishing returns with all things. Another common use case is that most people won't take these things to the track... I get you can feel *some* increase of acceleration with the hybrid, but realistically, most street driving will never require it - therefore, you have to decide if 30-40k is worth it for slightly more exhilarating pulls up to 60mph... it's the same thing with the z06; more power than most people will even be able to access
If I could afford it, I would want an E-RAY with Engine Modifications from "Late Model Racecraft" (LMR) to have the EV front but with a LOT MORE than 495 in the rear... something that many are "looking for" in the "ZORA"... perhaps the ZR1 engine plus the EV in front is cost prohibitive, but getting something around 900 HP is not unheard of with the "basic" C8 engine... I have Always loved a "Sleeper" that everyone already knows is "A Fast Car" ... but they don't know HOW FAST...Can you just imagine riding along in "EV Mode" and suddenly stomping the gas, and "All He** Breaks Loose!!" ???
Took my E-Ray to Barber over the weekend. An absolute masterpiece of a road course - and I was destroying the base C8s. They just can’t put it down leaving a corner like this electric front axle allows. I think Cup 2Rs on an E-Ray would put it on par with the Z06 - I just never see it tested that way. Shorter and more technical tracks would be even more favorable for the AWD system. We need more content on slicks or cheaters like the Cup2Rs.
For me I rather have a Stingray best bang for the buck. You can wake up the stingray with a heads and cam package and it sounds amazing also adds 125hp. Sound is at least 50% of the experience for me. If it doesn’t sound great I don’t want it ! Get a base 1lt Stingray add heads and cam package approximately 12-14k. You are still way under and Eray price. So imho it’s not worth it .
You are 100% right. And if done up correctly like mine is, it looks better than the widebody cars. I parked next to a white 70th anniversary Z and everybody that I showed pictures to said my black stingray looked better. But I also have bad ass wheels, it’s lowered, carbon fiber everywhere, It’s done right!
Did you ever note what the max G-forces were when doing launch control? Check the PDR for what the max was? With the Stingray, I was catching 1.0 Gs when doing launch control at 3.1 seconds. Thanks!
The E-Ray is great for short term ownership imo, 3-5 years and then move on. I wouldn't want this after the warranty runs out with the electric motor and all the extra tech. I think the stingray is better for buyers looking to keep it more than 5 years, run out the warranty and then slap a supercharger on and your good for another 5 years lol. Both great values for performance, especially used in any trim right now.
When the ER came out, I really wanted to eat Ring. I think it’s great but I have a C7Grandsport and went to Z06 c7 paid 10k more I cannot see paying double one of them or is 06 mine has great power it moves well I’m just Old School just can’t see it.
I really love the spec on what you did with your eray. I love the wheels and the stance but to tell you the truth they look so similar you can’t even tell. I had my black c8 parked next to a 70th anniversary Z06 and to tell you the truth mine looked better. It was confirmed by everyone and literally everyone that I showed pictures to and I was kind of blown away myself. But then again mine has a lot of modifications looks and performance wise from paragon. If there was any other spec, I would get it would definitely be your car but the difference is not that dramatic to warrant the price difference. I can easily afford any spec of the car, but I chose the stingray because I have a ton of other toys and the sting ray just adds a street element to the arsenal. If you guys really wanna have fun start buying off-road toys. I was a major car guy, but then once I got into the off-road game, it doesn’t even compare. I love the entire product line, but it’s really a false choice. The Stingray, E-Ray, Z06 and soon to be ZR1 (and all of their variations like Z51, etc.) all offer certain advantages and disadvantages to certain buyers. There’s really not an “upgrade” question, but it’s made a couple great videos I’ve enjoyed. I have a Stingray optioned the way I want it as an everyday driver and price wasn’t the overarching factor. When someone gets into the $150k+ range you have to look at non-C8 cars as well.
@ I have a feeling by ten years there will be many problems with the eray systems and they will depreciate more than stingrays and z06 and zr1 but under warranty there great 👍🏻 it’s kind of like Toyota Prius after 10 years there’s not many of them still on the road because of electric motor problems and high cost of battery replacement.
Where do people make this crap up? Electric motors are drop dead simple, reliable, and maintenance free. The battery is very small, not uniquely high end. Both are accessible as well.

I agree. Was an early adopter of the Z06. Was so pissed that the ERAY was so good and took the body too. It is a year round car.

The battery has a 10 year warranty, so you could keep it 9 years and then sell it.

GM dealers want C8 Z51 owners to trade in their (paid $100k) for $60k for C8 Eray $120k so in 2 years you can trade in Eray for $60k for a C9 $150k+

This car is great shot term but when the day comes to replace the battery and electric motor it’s going to be a nightmare
