Can you do the most expensive offshore combo, too, and then show us true to form, the Lojo offshore domination of the biggest fish catches. You might should turn it into a catch and cook with old neighbor Darryl.
The X cut in the butt of the rod is for rod holders they have a metal rod in the bottom of them that locks the rod in place to prevent it moving or falling out/over board going over waves etc :)
Also cheers for the good content Lojo, fan from all the way in New Zealand 🙂 the googan squad should do a trip here during your winter (our summer) some of the best fishing in the world 🤙🏽
Thumbs up for those Bass Pro employees. First, they didn't kick you out. Second, they made useful suggestions. Third, at least one was a fan. Lastly, they knew how to string a reel properly. Give those dudes a raise, and hats off to the corporation for understanding the fact that you're inadvertently advertising on their behalf. They're FINALLY catching on. 🤣
You guys missed out. I was there June 12 and ran into another employee who I thought was going to be a hassle ended up telling me what to return what to buy and where to fish. Older guy long white hair. He was a character.
@@axellopez9400 Ok, so clearly they have a good manager in charge of this store. Those are worth their weight in gold, and recognize good "on the spot" thinking. The good manager recognizes this skill, and encourages it.
Hey lojo when is pbj jig color good idea to use I have used black and blue no luck I have also tried sexy shad ones to no luck as well so just trying different colors I have noticed for me most things that work for everyone doesn’t always work to good for me
I run a Shimano Twin Power FD on my 7’2 MHF spinning combo. Absolutely love the reel, but it’s a 3000 size. Imo it’s one of the best value spinning reels you can get. Not absurd like a Stella, but smooth as butter with the 10 bearings. Plus you can get them for $300 if you order direct from Japan. That braid color you got is also my favorite.
The x cut out I’m pretty sure is for locking into the rod holder to keep it from spinning back and forth. I love fishing brackish water. I live on the Cape Fear river really enjoying it. Love the videos brother God bless you all. Love the new rod and reel combo great pick.
That setup will still be great for deep diving cranks, bigger swimbaits, and pitching! Although a baitcaster is usually preferred, this is a great oddity to have for freshwater fishing.
Congratulations On 700K Uncle Lojo Your the goat! Your the legit reason why i started bass fishing I’m happy for you bro also road to 1 MILLION LETS GOO🎣‼️
Hey lojo I just got my first baitcaster and I’ve been watching you about close to a year and I’ve always wanted a baitcaster from watching your videos and I finally got one I found my love for fishing again cause of you and norm y’all are the best
Yea. Bud love the video. The x on the random of the rod is to keep it from spinning in a rod holder. Keep up the great videos and you gotta love Destin, born and raised there. Destin is the world's luckiest fishing village.
Another most expensive combo idea. Online fishing combos. Pick the most expensive thing from each store. Or just pick things out online. Sometimes they have stuff online that isn’t in store. Great videos always fun to watch.
G😊2 St Croix rods and love them both they work for almost any type of fish your after even fishing through weeds but some lures work better with different rods.
Found your channel by accident, starting watching and love your personality and the googan squad. You have pretty much reignited my love for fishing now congrats on 700k. Now time for the journey 1mil
Thanks Lojo for the awesome videos! I started watching your videos about a year ago because my son wanted to fish and he saw me watching your videos and now we watch all your videos together and after we watch we go out and fish or least try to fish and do what you do! Thanks again for the awesome content!
Wish I had seen these videos sooner. I live in Santa Rosa Beach and spend way too much time at the Destin Bass Pro. Would have loved to have met yall. Lesson learned. Notifications turned ON
I am living vicariously through your videos while I tend to my newborn. Once he is old enough, ill probably still live vicariously through your videos because I am stuck in Illinois with mostly terrible fishing spots.
I fish inshore exclusively in the Shell Beach area of Louisiana. 3000 size is my favorite. And sometimes, you get what you pay for! My go to is Penn reels with Favorite rods.
This has to be by far the coolest episode! @LOJO! You need to get everyone from Googan Squad to do this same challenge and bring em out to the saltwater!
The Mojo rod was meant for you LOJO . That reel does look good too with that handle it might been good for catfishing too .. How did the redfish taste. I have never caught or fished for redfish .. Y’all guys have fun and be safe. Keep’em coming 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Stella and a Megabassor a Graphiteleader will do nearly 2 G's, i have the same setup you bought but with a 4000,i have gotten 36 inch snooks and 80 lbs tarpon easy on it,you are set and good to go brother...Bubba Tidal Pro is an excellent rod too for inshore
Love the saltwater shop and fish challenge. You should come to jekyll island ga and let us put you on some land based sharks. You paddle the bait out with a yak and come back and wait for a bite. We fish with 1000 dollar reels and 800 and 1000 dollar rods and 3 to 500 in line and a 26 dollar leader. Hook and sinker and usually free bait sometimes we have to buy 20 dollar baits. I think you would enjoy it.
The notch in the bottom of the butt on the rod is to position the rod and hold in place in a rod holder. So the bottom of the rod holder is a pin that goes horizontally and the notch fits over it keeps the rod from spinning or turning.
Great video idea. Really got fired up when you finally found the St. Croix Medium Heavy. That's the rod. I was hoping you'd find the Shimano Stella FK 3000 size reel to pair it up with. About $800. The reel you got was pretty awesome though. Wasn't a fan of the big knob, but then again, I've never fished with it. For longevity, you have to rinse after every trip! Enjoyed the trip. Great to see you try something a bit different. I would have suggested a 1/4 oz. red jig head with some type of swimming plastic on it. I used to use 2 1/2 - 3 inch Sassy Shads, Cocahoe minnows, etc., in Chartreuse, White, smoke, or purple with multi colored flecks. Caught many reds and speckled trout along with black drum and even a catfish or two, not to mention the Brackish water bass. Started of with 14 lb. mono on a baitcaster. One day we were having trouble catching anything so I started throwing 1/16 oz jigs (red heads with white white or chartreuse twisty tail grubs) and started catching the fire out of speckled trout. Always took my ultra-lite for just such "emergencies." Started using 8 lb. mono and 4 lb. mono on all subsequent trips. So much fun. You should touch base with KickinTheirBASSTV and try to do a colab with him fishing brackish water for reds, bass, etc. That would be a fun trip to see! Cheers!
Lojo, even with bull reds, you can use bass gear. (I fish in the Pensacola - Destin area A Freaking Ton). If you'd like, I can offer you some baitcaster setups that excel for inshore fishing but are still very much appropriate for bass fishing. Just shoot me a reply. Thanks for the videos bro!
I’m pretty sure the bottom of the rod is designed like that for a belt to help fight bigger fish… you were close to me my guy just come a little more west and fish the escambia river in Pensacola… love the content my guy and I’m a huge fan of you and Googan, keep it up my dude. And happy Father’s Day
Love that set-up. I won 2nd place tournament for heaviest Redfish with a 27 3/4 inch. Love catching those and grilling Redfish on the half shell with some lemon garlic butter.
Lojo hear me out heres a dope video idea! you and andrew go fishing and go pro chest mount it and then you each try to catch fish to cook. you guys have a 1v1 fish catch cook comp and after you catch the fish you go to walmart and then get what you need to make your dish and neighbor darrell is the judge of the food and picks a winner and you create a punishment in the beginning. banger vid ! lol
Yo brother when in Florida why don't you try and do collab with one of my fav youtubers...anglerup with Brant... he got me fishing again and then found you,ayo and norm... so praying you all get back together before end of 2023... that brotherly chemistry is unmatched but enjoying your collabs and weekly content
the X at the bottom is for the rod holders lock on the boat but also when you go on salt water adventure you use a fighting belt, this allow your rod to stay true and not twist in your hand ( due to the momentum created by the handle offset)
Hey lojo... i seen how you put the hook IN the eye of the rod. That CAN cause the inner eye damage (barb or point n rubbage), instead, put the hook in the ARM of the eye. Keep up the great work. 600 buck reel is def not worth it if you hardly use it.

That's a beautiful combo. And you give a lot away. Keep that one. For anytime you're fishing salt or brackish water.
Huge thumbs up to those Bass pro shop employees. 1st thing I noticed in the vlog is how helpful they were.
You don’t see this much anymore. That store is doing it right with having guys like that working there.
They are!
That thing is sick👀🔥

Although a baitcaster is usually preferred, this is a great oddity to have for freshwater fishing.
He absolutely butchered the combo. Built a bass fishing style setup for inshore.
@@TexanTrout good all around setup for inshore and heavier spinning applications for freshwater.
A 4000 would have been a better all around though.
@@fantomphoenix6170 yeah I guess it would make a pretty good "general purpose" setup 🤔

Been here since about the same time. Been a joy watching the channel grow!!!
The x cutout (rod gimble) on the bottom is for stuff like rod holders and fighting belts. It keeps the rod from twisting
