A good day starts with a morning sketch

As a beginner at drawing I realize if a person can’t see shape he can’t draw. ✍️ So I have to train myself to look around me and visualize what kind of shape makes up the object. After doing so my art took a great leap not the best out there but to me it’s the biggest progress.
A good exercise for that is watching a subject and trying to draw it with a single line as if you were using an etch-a-sketch, but without looking at the page, the drawing will look bad but it's very good at training observation.
Isn't that like the most essential concept in sketching? I started not too long ago in order for me to create characters to my game. (I want to build everything from scratch) Every tutorial and book I have encountered always instructs to, "simplify things into lines and shapes." Most of them encourage to practice drawing 2D/3dDshapes and draw it rotated in a different angle. I think it practices the artist spatial sense and think of things in terms of 3D. Because of this, studies say artist brain has a different structure.
@@blackwater7183 It is very important, the main goal of the exercise I described is to see the shapes how they really are and not how you imagine them as it is often a problem for beginner artist, by looking away from the page and focusing on the subject you get to observe its shapes and lines without the pressure of trying to make a good looking sketch and ultimately straying from the subject to draw something that you are already familiar with.
Another key if you want to progress fast is simply to sketch a lot and take notes about your sketches.
No matter the skill level there will always be something that you would like to change on every drawing, taking notes about what you like/dislike or would change about the drawing helps eliminating bad habits.
@@vraolet Yes, my first sketching book talked about that. Tracing the outline of your subject with your eyes like laser and putting it in paper. The books that I got after that were more geared towards drawing figures from imagination because I want to create stylized/fictional characters for my game. I have noticed vetaran artist here in youtube can draw really crisp lines and shapes. Even when one guy I follow drew a circle, it looked so perfect. Their fine motor skills are very honed. I on the other hand struggle to draw the most basic shapes. Lol.
Morning sketch... moring- This is this person's morning sketch and yet if I were to draw something this beautiful it would be the project of my lifetime.
Morning is the most important time of the day for human beings~I save the important time for my favorite things

Yeah, hate it when people refer to a fully finished beautiful drawing as a 'sketch'.
This is just how language changes over time so now sketch just means 'black and white drawing' even if its a highly finished peice of art.
always impressed by this real time drawings. It looks so "easy" but then you try to replicate it and you realize how hard it actually is

these videos never fail to make drawing look fun and easy. i’m definitely going to draw later, and use some of these methods. especially the way you use the blending tool. it gives so much depth.
It’s really incredible seeing what experienced folks can do in their area of expertise. So, every time I think I’m becoming decent at sketching, I’ll come across something like this and I’m instantly humbled.
Sure wish there were more abundant real time video like this. It's gives a much greater perspective of the process and time for total beginners. It's also quite relaxing. Great stuff!

個人冒昧提個小小拙見，我猜測您畫的是嫁衣或少數民族的服飾，但少數民族似乎較少用髮簪，古代著嫁衣女子抽髮簪應該多半帶點恨意或悔意，若是俠女就會有殺意！所以我覺得表情或許可再豐富一些，但不管如何我很喜歡這整體的意境，感謝您的畫作分享

Pencil maniac. Start with pencil from HB to B, eraser and shading paper. Maybe a reference or maybe not. Digital art or not it is the same. The hardest part is when you try it with color.

for 42 minutes this person uses a single layer!!!!! put that into perspective of what is possible with a few shades on procreate wow wow wow. I ordered the nibs and got paperlike. not that it will improve my art ability, i still need to find out how to install brushes. lmfao.

Such an interesting way of using smudge tool 🤔 I have to try it. Better than an eraser or drawing in a new layer. Also, Elecom tips? First time I see them and I NEED TO BUY THEM. So tired of my tips lasting so little.
I hear texture as they make lines but I see no actual texture. Is this a screen filter like paper like? I’ve never used it out of fear of it wearing my pen nibs down but it seems to be helpful to have some kind of friction resistance so that it feels more like drawing on paper.
