I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.
Never ever stop on a sawcut! Continuity gives straight cuts. When you stop there is always a step in the cut line. Even more important when trimming the straight edge splinter strip. Hope this helps

Yes, it's normal. The rubber is trimmed by the saw to match your particular saw and blade kerf. This way it's correct zero-clearance for your saw and blade. The rubber is replaceable for this reason. When you change to a different type of blade, or a different saw, you're supposed to change the rubber also.
Even een vraagje: Ik heb onlangs ook deze rail gekocht (FSN1600) in combinatie met de GKS55+ G circelzaag. Wat ik alleen niet snap is waarom er aan de rail een blauwe siliconenstrip zit. Daar kom je met het zaagblad tegenaan en als je de zaag aanzet zaag je dus die strip kapot. Ook geeft de strip weerstand als je de zaag over de rail beweegt. Kan je uitleggen of dit hoort of dat ik iets verkeerd doe? Ik hoor het graag!
Hoi Joris, ik zal even antwoorden voor Don, =}... die strip is om splinters te voorkomen en het is de bedoeling dat je voor het eerste gebruik met de zaag de strip afzaagt zodat de de gezaagde strip precies op/tegen je afgetekende zaaglijn kunt leggen en je dus zeer precies kunt zagen. voor het eerste gebruik zorg je dat het zaagblad 10mm uitsteekt van de bodemplaat van de zaag en dan zaag je de strip af en is de geleider klaar voor gebruik. tip leg de geleider op een oude plank (zodat je door je trip en de plank zaagt de eerste keer) voor het beste resultaat. groetjes Ben
This is not how you should use it for the first time. Obviously you didn't read the instructions , you have to cut the rubber insert perfectly to the blade....
In the instruction-paper (version 160992A5NW, 2020.09) provided with the Bosch guide rail FSN, they show a circular saw blade cutting the rubber insert - like he does it in the video (except that he placed the blade too deep at the first run, as he describes).

Not with a Mafell track saw there isn’t, and the Bosch track is exactly the same design as Mafell

Think the instructions state 9mm depth for the blade to cut the rubber.

Did the saw damage that blue rubber at the edge of the track? Mine damaged it. I wonder if that's normal.

@@_emanmodnar On the instructions there is cutting with circular saw for the first time, but on the piece of wood to prevent rubber from bending.

I didn't get this either… He is cutting the rubber insert alongside the guide rail, which needs to be trimmed for it to fit the circular saw.
