Fun Fact; Outstanding was originally created for WLS-AM in Chicago, but KIIS-FM heard what WCAU-FM did with the package and then called JAM Creative to sing the package including the weather cut which was taken from AM and originally was used as the theme of WLS's Music People program. Outstanding with KIISFM as the pilot station become more popular and including the Weather Bed. Fresh Kiss was created with WLS in mind. Hot KIIS before was created with KIIS in mind, but the musical style was compactable with most pop music styles not just CHR/Top 40 but Adult Contemporary as well.
It was KKDJ until Early Fall of 1975 & Call Letters Changed to KIIS 102.7 & AM 1150, it was My Favorite Station, you had the Late Charlie Tuna, Paul Freeman, Brother Bill, Liz (Rugburn) Fulton, who was Rick Dees Sidekick in the 80's the Late Charlie Wright (also the Sports Reporter under Rick Dees) Other Personalities & of Course...Rick Dees who Owned the 80's, 90's & Early 2000's when he left in a Dispute with Management & was Replaced by Current Ryan Seacrest in February 2004. As I said before KIIS was my Favorite Station & was my Exclusive Station from November 78 to the End of 79 when it Flipped to Disco & Played Long Versions off Disco Songs, along with the #1 Disco Hits, that was the Day with KIIS FM. & Let's Not Forget the Billboards of Rick Dees, Plastered on the Sides of the RTD (Now Metro) Busses when he was King of L.A. Radio. I don't Listen to KIIS anymore, Not even with Ryan Seacrest in the Mornings.
@EllisFeaster He was an avid jingle collector back in the 1970's and 80's. Gary Blau used to dub off copies fior me of what he sent RKO General/ WGMS when Gary worked there. I still have a bunch of reel recordings that I need to dub off. They're from 1962-1984. I retired from Cox in 2019 after 45 years in the 'biz. Best wishes. John Pinckney

WMMS 101 FM Cleveland
Home of the Buzzard.
Thanks Ellis.... Loved it.
Wow. I haven’t heard some of these really old jingles in years!
02:25 Even radio stations eventually divose...more/less. KIIS-AM is now Conservative Talk KEIB.

Ellis,
Do you have any airchecks of George John’s Classy format with his recently passing I’d love to hear them.
@@johnvolpe3131 I don’t think so, but I will check.
Stellar😋
The best jingles arround the minute 10 and 12'
I think this was around 1983 when Bruce Vidal was there.
Ellis...this us a great collation of KIIS Jingles.
When they were using HOT HITS..wonder was they didn't use the Fusion abd Actuators package
@@billyboy1030 Because it was not real Hot Hits. They paid for the rights to use the name, basically paying Mike Joseph to stay out of their market.
@EllisFeaster Beside the Hot Hits jingles from TM were becoming dated.
Ellis,
Did you ever get any tapes from Michael Neff?
@@johnpinckney4979 I haven’t yet.

@@johnpinckney4979 I can dub them for you if you like. Just let me know!
I don't think KIIS actually used KIIS 90. They were using TM Century by then.
Was KIIS Easy Listening at one time?
@@RageTVHTX Yes, back in the 1970s. I have one of those airchecks posted.
What song and composer is at 2:24? That chord at 2:35 is wrong.
