- KHTZ K Hits 97 Los Angeles Charlie Tuna : Dave Sebastian August 3 1979 Radio Aircheck
After 93 KHJ Los Angeles had faded as a Top 40 station, and before 102.7 KIIS-FM became the dominant force in Pop music, KHTZ K-Gits 97 was playing Top 40 in 1979 & 198, until when they decided to drop the Top 40 format and adopt an Adult Contemporary sound. Some of the legendary name who worked at K-Hits 97 include Beaver Cleaver, Bobby Rich, Gene Knight, Nancy Plumb, and the voice heard on this recording, the legendary Charlie Tuna! Charlie spent a couple of years doing mornings at KHTZ during it's Top 40 era, and lasting into it's AC era.

One of You Tube's oldest RADIO AIRCHECK MUSEUM with a NEW VIDEO posted daily at 3PM EST.
After over 40 years working on the radio, I have recorded lots of radio airchecks, and many from my friends as well.
You'll find audio of many radio personalities who have passed away. Lots radio recordings from the 1940s, through the 2010.
We also talk about radio broadcasting. If you happen to have classic airchecks, maybe even of yourself on the air, we'd love to share it here!
We also share videos about Travel & Cruising. I share tips on how I travel cheaply, so you can do it also! Find me on Facebook: / ellisairchecks
