The worldbuilding definitely took a hit. IMP openly advertises their services, yet them leaving Hell through the book is a illegal. If using crystals is the only legal way to leave Hell, then why are there no consequences for IMP leaving?

It feels like Vivzie is Restricting a lot of what the show should’ve been in regard to being about Demon POV than Sinners in HH, but being more drama/character with the assassin jobs that carried the story along, which the OG premise was gonna be about.
It doesn’t feel like it’s taking the liberty where the show is set in and comes off as playing it too safe in some aspects, like with how the Jeffrey Dahmer joke in the Pilot was seen as out of poor taste joke to Viv.

The sinners who hire IMP have probably no idea about the book, so the only person of note who knows about, aside from IMP themselves is Stolas. Anyone else would probably assume they use the crystals as how likely is it that a couple of low-rank imp-lings gained access to a grimoire of an ars goetia, potentially THE grimoire (I don't know if there are more in the lore, but so far we only know of one in the show)
Stolas probably wants to get the book back so that his relationship with blitz doesn't have a transactional component to it anymore, trying to show blitz that he really cares for him. I don't think he was really concerned about the legality of lending the book.

I like the idea of having a flashback to more clearly establish the connection between the two because we get a lot of tell, not show. And there's still so much left up in the air, like there's a reason why some people were under the impression that Fizz and Blitzo were brothers and it's because of the lack of information on them. For me this episode encapsulates the type of writer vivziepop is: one with creative worldbuilding and original ideas, but very rough execution. It had the potential to be a very emotionally compelling story (and in some ways it is), but there are so many rookie writing mistakes, which although not that bad individually, add up.
First off, it's never a good idea to set up the story in a way that key plot points happen by coincidence. In this episode it's done twice in a row, with blitz and fizz meeting by chance, and by sheer coincidence, crimson and striker are in the building right next to them. Very sloppy writing that doesn't feel clever at all.
The humor is honestly abysmal and not remotely funny at this point. I understand that 95% of the show's audience nowadays aren't actually adults, but I think vivziepop could've come up with something more creative than "LoL diLdoS aRe sO fUnNy". Sex jokes can be funny if done right and in moderation, but at this point they feel like an artificial sweetener that's been added to the utter excess with the purpose of giving flavor to an inherently bland product.
The blitz and fizz scenes are pretty cool, but I agree that fizz doesn't feel like a very interesting character by himself. There also just wasn't enough buildup for the payoff of them becoming friends to be as satisfying as it could've been. In my opinion it would've been far better to flesh out fizz and his relations with blitz, before delivering this payoff. In addition, the fact that they couldn't make things right sooner because of a simple miscommunication feels lame and unsatisfying.
There are some other more minor flaws like Asmodeus being stupid and uninteresting, Stolas just being there for no reason, but those didn't ruin the episode as much as what I already discussed.
That being said, it's is still miles better than most, if not all other season 2 episodes. It feels refreshing to have characters develop and go through actual arcs instead of just being fed filler episodes that ruin existing characters more than develop them.

Honestly I just think she needs to either step down as director or simply get a co-director. I've heard talk about her being bad at setting appropriate deadlines and can be found wanting in her availability and communication skills. I really think it just boils down to that. And for what it's worth, I think she's also learning a lot after having been thrown into the lions pit. While I don't like season 2 all that much, I think that it's a lot more consistent in many ways. The animation seems a lot cleaner with less errors overall. The voice actors are starting to get into the groove of their characters a little better. I think things are looking up for the show, but I think she also still needs a little bit of help to see it's true potential actualize.

In all fairness, two of those tweets you showed us of Viv's "pettiness" were actually her being understandably upset that Erica Lindbeck, Loona's voice actress and a friend of Viv's, was cruelly harassed and bullied off Twitter by a bunch of toxic losers simply because Erica politely asked someone to take down a video they made in which they used A.I. to replicate her voice so that a video game character she voices would sing a song they wanted her to sing, and it genuinely disturbed her. Anyone would be rightfully angry and calling out such awful behavior happening to their friends, Viv is no exception. And the Pinklie Winkurlton III thing was because someone kept harassing and spamming Viv for the name of the hellhound that was hitting on Loona in Queen Bee, and she finally got fed up and sarcastically gave the hellhound that name to get the person to leave her alone. While Viv HAS unfortunately been reacting very badly to genuinely respectful good faith criticisms made by people who do like Helluva Boss and only want it to get better, those examples you showed were NOT examples of that, and Viv's frustrations in those were actually pretty justified. (I can't remember what the third tweet was about though) You could have at least showed the actual tweets of Viv blasting actual valid criticisms to better prove your point. The examples you gave were seriously out of context. Come on dude I know you're better than giving out of context tweets...

You know what would make Asmodeus more interesting?
Make him not hate love, but not understanding. He seens to despise love because to him, it doesn't make sense and it's useless in his eyes. That way his relationship with Fizz (idk how to write his name) would be confusing and lack just as much as Blitz and Stolas relationship, giving Blitz and Fizz something to bond after many years. It would make their redemption more interesting because it would take away the one thing that is defining Fizz. Asmodeus
It would make his feelings towards love not be a farse but something he clearly don't get, and is experiencing for the first time.
And yeah, Vivizie is petty, I am not surprised she putted SO much d*cks jokes. Look, humor is subjective, and if she likes jokes that only 11 years old would enjoy, that is fine. I mean, Nick Kroll likes sh*t jokes, and they don't hit that well often
But you know what is the difference between Nick and Vivizie? Two creators that makes adult cartoons with immature jokes? One understand that his taste in jokes shouldn't dictates his story. One understands that sh*t jokes can be in like one segment of one episode, or 3 minutes of a 1h hour special, but let the serious and emotional moments have the spotlight

This episode has so many problems, starting with how underwhelming Blitz's apology is with little to no buildup of his and Fizz's rivalry. Striker is yet again reduced to Team Rocket level of intimidation, and after being told to don’t touch Fizz because he’s supposed to just watch him he just… vanishes, not doing his task. He also just stands there, falling for Fizz's distraction instead of shooting him in the head and calling it a day.
Crimson, for some reason, has the balls to make demands to Asmodeus, one of the deadly sins, a being inferior only to Lucifer. And it works and he's okay! Because for some reason Asmodeus, like a good boy, just sits in his office doing nothing instead of looking for Fizz. If Stolas was able to locate Blitz on earth, how someone much more powerful can be this useless? You will say "oh, they would kill Fizz if Ozzie showed up". Gtfo, he's a sin, he should be able to obliterate some puny imps with his presence alone. Asmodeus looks weaker than Alastor right now. They had a whole build up with Ozzie getting angry and did nothing with it.
    Pathetic.
We could've seen one of the sins finally showing some of their powers but no, because Viv just had to have Blitz and Fizz make up in this episode.

Eh...it was not a bad apology and it had some buildup. Not at all, he actually does shit, he doesn't completely vanish he is there in the shadows, doing his task watching over Fizz. Is that a bad thing? Fizz was no threat to him, why not see where it goes before he kills him?
Crimson is a bold and scary person himself, he knew what Asmodeus is like. He does try looking for Fizz but he can't find him. He isn't useless, but he's a expert on lust not stuff like seeing through the very cosmos like Stolas is. They could still kill him though. Not at all. What was that a build up for? It was to show how he would obviously react. They did it's purpose.

Striker doesn't watch from the shadow unless we see him there. And we don't, he just re-appears out of nowhere after Fizz and Blitz are already out.
Asmodeus didn't look for Fizz, we don't see it, we see him sit in his office. And just because he isn't responsible for cosmos and stars like Stolas doesn't change the fact he's a sin, he should be able to find one Imp if he wished too.

He was happy to greet Stolas and pull his chair out even while saying Stolas crashed his club. He can be rash. He's protective and supportive. He can be a sassy show-off. Like I said before, this episode works well on its own but falters when placed with the rest of the season. The season where the rising tensions between the main characters has been both hyped up and crushed because of the events of previous episodes. So is it really the best time to be setting up an entirely different plot focusing on an entirely different character this late in the season? This felt like an episode that needed to happen in like the end of season one or at the beginning of season 3. Fizz's whole arc, while decently written on paper, adds very little to the overarching plot of the season, Blitz and Stolas. This episode, the episode right afterwards, and his little moment in Full Moon could be cut and/or moved to the next season and not much would change.

Well to be fair, episode 5 told a story that more closely resembled what HB was originally about, smth that he openly said he liked. But this episode tried to be ambitious, but bit of more than it could chew. It isn't a bias or anything, we all have our own reason for liking things like for one, I loved the Circus episode because that stuff ran smoother and felt like an episode in HB with natural drama than most of the episodes of the season. He loves Unhappy Campers because it felt like HB, the one that most ppl signed up for anyways, and told a natural and entertaining story while being able to stand as it's own episode. What u could at least give him is that he at least gives a good reason as to why he feels why he does, unlike the ppl who randomly say that Western Energy is "peak" or some shit like that.

@@Jdudec367 ok sry for before my opinion on Western Energy has changed a lot since it initially came out (u weren't wrong about the bias). Ive learnt to enjoy it as more of a fun one of episode rather than smth actually serious (which is smth I do still stand with for most of the Western Energy). I respect your opinion and I definitely think the episode is miles from bad, just that it had some weirdly written moments throughout (I'm talking about Oops btw). Though I still can't get over Strikers treatment in both episodes. Also while I do like Unhappy Campers, I'm starting to see why ppl really didn't like that episode.

I’m sorry but I disagree with this take. I feel as though that this was one of the better episodes of the season and possibly the best episode of the series so far. Us seeing something finally godo happening to Blitz as well as us getting more inside info as to how Blitz got his scar and why one of his past relationships despised him is such a breath of fresh air. As well as that, you only go into detail about the negative aspects of the episode and not even going into the positives bc this episode had a lot of positive aspects that made this episode really good. Of course you are entitled to your opinion and your opinion shall be respected, but this episode is definitely not a failure at all whatsoever.

The show fell from the start. Crashed and burned to the ground. Yet viv tries to keep it alive Even tho it's no use. Since she's the one who incompetently killed it. Hell even episode 1 (Problably the only good episode of the show which says alot) has aged horribly. And I mean it when I say it. It's sad and I was always hoping for her to do something the flaws of the show. Which she never did.
She instead kept firing hundreds of rounds into her own foot instead. Season 1 is dogshit because it can't stand on it's own legs. Due to Incompetent Structuring, Worldbuilding, No connection to each episode whatsoever and Introducing too many antagonists. Which had ALOT of great great potential. As in they should have appeared in every episode. They would have been loved n memorable. But no. Instead Viv throws them in a dumpster filled with gasoline and diesel. And then chucks a fire match into it to watch them all burn. Who even remembers the cherubs? Who remembers Blitzos ex?
It's a mess and especially the final episode of it. It was just meaningless bare to the bone filler. Which did absolutely nothing in solving the falling out between Blitz and Stolas. Then theres the terrible character development or lack there of. It's so damn confusing. And then theres season 2 which is just season 1 but turned to the extreme from dogshit To dogshit with radioactive acid. It's just a sad sight to be seen. She did absolutely nothing to improve anything for the most of it.
She tried to atleast fix the mess. She caused in unhappy campers. With the teleporter thingies which made the book pretty much useless from the start. Given the fact that it's a really important item. But at the same time she shot herself in the foot again. Because it was a shitty explanation. Then theres the conflict between Blitz and Fizz that was just solved in a couple of minutes. Why didn't it even happen like idk Many years earlier? Idk what to even say. Hell even she admitted to saying that there weren't any plans for a second season in the first place. Which explains why it became so much worse than it was before. Im suprised anyone didn't come up to her and say that: Hey! This is terrible, we should improve it! Anyway yall have a good day.
I hope Lackadaisy atleast doesn't repeat vivs mistakes.

    /!\ VERY LONG COMMENT /!\
After I've watched the episode I've had so many questions:
If Blitzo and Fizzaroli never met after the accident why were they acting the way they did?
Why was Blitzo saying in "Queen Bee" that "Fizz's was right, he's gonna die alone"?
Why did Blitzo tried to fight him?
They haven't talked to eachother for fifteen years, they shouldn't behave like they hate eachother, especially Blitzo.
I think Fizzaroli should be angry, while Blitzo should feel extremely embarassed, and would try to explain to him what actually happened (even though i assume Fizz' wouldn't listen to what he has to say).
Then: why did Asmodeus decided to blackmail his employees to not talk about him having a relationship in the end of the episode?
He could've done that when he started to date Fizzaroli, it wouldn't have changed the story much...
But Asmodeus would seem less dumb!
Also having him saying "lust is not a matter of force" says a lot about the researches VivziePop has done about Asmodeus.
In his lore he killed 7 people because a girl did not wanted to sleep with him (it's in the Old Testiment). Knowing that makes this sentence hypocritcal at best (which might suit him, this episode show us he's a hypocrite) and stupid at worse!
Why did he ended up in Hell if he didn't comlited those crimes?
    Then: wasn't Crimson broke?
How could he pay an assassin to get Blitzo killed?
Doesn't he have a ton of other guys who could've done it to his place?
    I mean, he's a mafia boss...
But damn, what a shitty mafia boss : WHEN did he though it was a good idea to mess with a PRINCE?
Ozzie's litterally runing an entire circle and has magical powers!
Plus, in theory, no one is supposed to know Fizz' and him are dating...
So why to use him a hostage in the first place?
It was like he kidnapped one of his employees and hoping he could get money out of it...
Crimson really IS a shitty mafia boss!
And that's a problem, because I can't take him seriously as an antagonist (that dildo joke in the third episode not helping).
Then: that song... None of Crimson's guys though to shoot Fizz' while he was singing? Really?
Then: Where did Blitzo went after saving Fizz'?
Did Fizzaroli came back to the lust ring alone? (I hope Blitzo drove him back to Lust)
Then: having Fizz' saying he now dislikes to go outside feels kind of... toxic?
I mean, when the episode starts we learn that Fizzaroli doesn't go out very often, to not say "never", and when he decides to get out (in the circle where "the accident" happened) he stambles into the guy who destroyed his life and gets kidnapped.
Having him saying that he "hates going outside" feels like he's now traumatized, I don't think it should be a good thing to make him say this like it was a positive conclusion to what happened...
Plus, making him say that it gave him new kinks... I don't know... I feels weird...
I'm not really looking for answers to these questions...
I only wanted to talk about these incoherences which made this episode less enjoyable...
The writters really need to step up their game, because if they don't the people who watch the show are going to get bored and just stop watching it...
Also: having Stolas be like "I lOVe WoRDs" was so CRINGE!

But you have already found the reasons of all the issues and it's Vivienne's poor writing. She's so childish. And look she's still practicing. Helluva boss is more of an experiment. Guess she's still learning some things while working on the show. So your essay is pretty profound but I think maybe Viv still could make it better. Let's just watch futher. ❤

It would make sense that The Deadly Sins are decent people, since they were once angels. And if I wrote them as complete monsters, why make their own show, you better go read the Bible.
But things like social classes, politics and hierarchy are things that don't change overnight. The first episodes it was scandalous that Stolas had a relationship with an imp. Only for them to come out with the fact that almost all sins are doing the same thing. Also what I said about capital sins being angels before. She never made that clear, she simply filled in the gaps.

Are you serious right now? This episode out more in depth of Fizz's and Blitz's background and story. It also showed that Crimson and Striker(of course) are gonna be constant antagonists for certain characters to deal with. It also shows that Stolas is becoming more aware of the fact that his relationship with Blitz is far from what he wants it to be, while from Blitz's perspective he can't trust that Stolas actually likes him because one he's a prince, and two because of (if you payed attention to the flashback you'd notice this nice lil detail) what happened when he trued to muster the nerve to confess to Fizz. Blitz's confession when he apologized to Fizz also confirmed that he has a very low opinion of himself that alao opens more on his character. And before anyone starts on the jokes, the whole Dicks on the wall thing wasn't in Exes and Oos was not a joking matter. Crimson was full on mocking Moxxie for being LGBTQ in the first place, he literally said "I made the place more to your kind's liking." And there isn't just sex jokes here, there's dark humor, light humor, funny song numbers and sarcastic comebacks. It's all adult humor this isn't a show for minors. And lastly, Fizz and Asmodeus' relationship is beautiful, they are officially my favorite couple in this series.

Honestly having striker slowly devolve wouldn't be a problem but...its now slow. As soon as the very second episode he is in comes out he's become a cartoonishly confident asshat who can't take a joke which makes it incredibly hard to take seriously.
What they probably should have done is show striker progressively getting mpre and more irritated with his losses to IMP, this can be done pretty well if they see IMP actually preparing for the fact that they may face striker given the fact that in his first appearance he almost killed moxxie and knocked millie out cold.
Have him still be threatening, the jokrs don't affect him instead he kinda just ignores'em and keeps proceeding if anything maybe even tainting them for attempting to use such a dirty tactoc while still fighting. He doesnt just stop and gloat he does it while he's destroying his opponent.
Maybe he has to result to dirtier tactics, not jokes but attacks that seem petty or unfair, something only desperate people would do but his drive and will to kill the IMP gang keeps them on their toes.
Eventually his losses would lead to his public reputation taking a hit. This would probably drive him mad but at this point he'd probably stop caring about what they think, he's going to kill these IMPs whether if he has a reputation or not, and not stella nor stolas nor crimson will get in his way.
Think about how characters like robotnik are treated in lets say the archie comics. Their powerful, calm, overly confident, but threatening villians that often mentally degrade as the story goes on. But they're never thrown off of the opponent because of some stupid joke, they're constantly on the hunt and constantlu making new advances to achieve there goal. Whether it be using dirtier cheaper tactics to show how desperate they've become they're unhinged decline makes them more unpredictable but they're never torn down so much that they come across as unskilled.

I know that I'm very late, but some of the "issues" you pointed out in this episode are among the reasons why I enjoyed it. The only point I agree with is Striker (though I was hoping that they wouldn't "off" him like you suggested, it would have been way more underwhelming than giving him the chance to play a more meaningful role in the future. And even if I hated that he got distracted by Fizz's song, I think this episode gave him more justice than Western Energy). Oh, I also agree with the "phallus" thing, it isn't fun, it just seems pointless.
Regarding the rest, I disagree with everything. I wouldn't have enjoyed it if this episode broke the momentuum with some corny flashback sequence to explain in a super on-the-nose way Blitz and Fizz' friendship. Ep 1 gave me all the informations that I needed regarding their dynimic, which role everyone played etc., so much so that when Blitz said "you always cared about my opinion" I could totally believe it, just like when Fizz said that he suspected Blitz was jealous of him. And how brief was the revelation of their trauma, before from Fizz's pov and then from Blitz's, is the exact reason why I want to praise it so much. It wasn't rethorical, melodramatic or too long: things that would have made you question how over-the-top that scenario actually was. But it was shocking and hard-hitting. They treated such an unlikely and unfortunate scenario in the best way they could (the incident happened due to such random and unfortunate circumstances that it would have been comedic if it wasn't so tragic, so that was the best way to convey it. It would've been difficult to take it seriously if more emphasis was put into it. And it was the most respectful and sensitive way to handle that topic, imo, otherwise it would have felt like they were trying to make a spectacle out of it, instead of respecting the pain of the characters).
And I was so glad that Stolas didn't solve the problem at the end: I like Stolas, but how much more "Mary Sue" do you want him to be? And I thought that Fizz was well-characterized for what he had to do in this episode: there was A LOT of implicit characterization in his dialogue and actions (the fact that he isn't good at fighting speaks volumes, but also "I promote products that I don't actually use", his fairness in judging royals, the fact that he can easily forgive once he has the whole picture, "today I've learned that I don't like going outside", and other things).
I agree about Asmodeous, but I'm sure he'll have more to him when he becomes more plot-relevant.
And I haven't watched episode 5 yet, I purposely skipped it because I know it doesn't have a good reputation, but from what I know people didn't like that the drama with Blitz' sister was so heavy-handed, nor the M&Ms' argument.
So. I think your opinion is valid, ofc. But it isn't objective, it's just about your own personal taste. I would've listen to it with much more pleasure if it wasn't framed as if what you were saying was a fact.

About that accusation of yours that Viv purposely put more dick jokes in this episode just to spite those who heavily criticized that one scene in Exes and Oohs... yeah no, that ain't true. And the proof for that lies in the Helluva 2022 trailer (that I assume you've never seen) where it shows scenes from BOTH Exes and Oohs and Oops in animatic form, so yeah, they already had these episodes planned out long before they were released. Watch the trailer if you don't believe it. And while I'm not an animation expert, I do at least know that writing, storyboarding, and animatics are done in early production, so there's also that. You seriously need to do your research before making such baseless and untrue accusations. As for this episode... It was actually pretty good! It was the first and only episode in season 2 so far that I actually enjoyed! And while I do agree with almost all your criticisms, it was still a good episode overall, despite all that. You know it honestly feels like you WANT to hate Viv and this episode... and please don't get me wrong, you're allowed to feel however you want about this episode, I hadn't been enjoying season 2 either, and I honestly agree with all your season 2 reviews, and I'll respect your opinions on this episode. And you certainly don't have to like Viv, I won't deny that her backlash towards genuine valid criticism has been very immature, but that doesn't give you the right to make such awful and untrue accusations about her with no basis either. Seriously though, your season 2 reviews are some of the many I consider to be the actual valid good faith criticisms, and they're very fair and well done, so your ridiculous accusation here and lack of understanding of how cartoon productions work was unfortunately VERY unsavory and a big misstep for you 😑
(And if you're not an animation expert like me, you could just look it up)

    • @vanitymoth
      @vanitymoth  11 месяцев назад +18

To start off I have never animated anything in my life so it's entirely possible that Im misunderstanding the animation process so correct me if I'm wrong.
I did see that trailer and like all well written shows usually the entire season is planned out before the first episode has aired and like you said this episode was in early production before exes and oohs was even planned out. But the thing about animation is that the entire episode isn't animated all at once. There are several animators who work on these episodes and some finish the scenes they were assigned to animate earlier than others. For example it's entirely possible that this episode was 50% done being animated by the time exes and oohs was finished. That means the other 50% would have been animated after the backlash so Vivienne could have requested to have PP jokes put in. Also if you dig through her twitter enough I believe she did acknowledge the backlash at the dildo joke scene which means she knows that these kind of jokes irritate a number of the fanbase. This puts here in a lose-lose situation because if these scenes were already animated she could have learned from fan feedback and had plenty of time to have the animators cut out or re animate scenes like those from this episode or alternatively these scenes weren't animated yet and she approved of them all with the knowledge that it would upset a portion of the fanbase again which is kinda spiteful/inconsiderate and shows that she doesn't listen to fan feedback. I will emphasize though that at the end of the day it's her show and she has every right to do whatever she wants with it.
It means a lot that you consider my reviews well made and made in good faith so thank you for that. I do try to be professional but the dildo joke in exes and oohs, followed by the statue joke in Western Energy, and now this is just too coincidental not to notice especially since we didn't have nearly as much visual PP jokes in season 1 and now it happens so often that it's become a talking point for reviewers.
If I misunderstood anything please feel free to let me know. Thank you for being civil.

    • @priscillapineda3204
      @priscillapineda3204 11 месяцев назад +2

Well I am at least relieved that my comment did come off as civil, because I was honestly worried that maybe I came off as kind of mean, which wasn't my intention, I wanted to be fair for both sides so again, that's a relief 😅 And yeah, I'm aware that Viv has acknowledged the backlash for the dildo jokes, I wasn't trying to defend the constant use of the same jokes (I didn't find them funny either, except for the one where Ozzie punched the statue, I thought that one was actually pretty funny) I only meant that they were most likely already planned out beforehand. And I'm really happy to hear that my opinions on your Helluva Boss videos had a positive effect on you, cuz I really meant what I said about them being completely fair. Thank you for replying back and for also being civil, I hadn't actually expected to get a reply 😃

He's still very much against the royals and calls out both Fizz and Blitzø for havimg their "fun time" with them. He's also a lot more serious in this episode and doesn't give off Chaz vibes like in episode 4. He's not perfect, he doesn't give off that confident vibe like how he did is Season 1 Episode 5, but it's still better than how he was handled in Episode 4

A lot of people said that Striker's character got ruined during Western Energy, but I doubt it because I know he's still a threat and he shouldn't be messed with, heck he was extra intimidating in Oops especially when he says, "I'll break you like a horse." I don't know what he means by that, but my lord that can't be good. Also I'm not sure why Crimson and Striker got distracted by Fizz's song, but I know they are confused on what's going on. Plus they almost shot Blitz when he finished opening the window. Overall I still consider Striker a very threatening character despite his flaws at times.

I feel like Stolas's role would have worked better if he had known Crimson had Blitz too so that then instead of him going along with Ozzie just because he was already there it becomes the two of them working together to get their men back. How I would change it is, instead of just showing Fizz tied up, Crim's message to Ozzie ended with him being thrown into the cage, with Blitz already tied up in there and have Stolas react to thatgiving him an actual reason to go with Ozzie to negotiate. Still have him read the contract anxiously and hurriedly rather than being excited that he has an excuse to read something, asking why there's nothing about blitz and how to get HIM back since the contract only talks about Fizz. I would also still have Blitz and Fizz talk about a distraction and maybe play a few seconds of Look At This before cutting away, to Ozzie and Stolas, develop both Ozzie and his and Stolas's friendship more, have them actually address what happened at Ozzie's and maybe even argue about it. And of course at the end give us a bit of Stoliz angst when Fizz shows up at the office after he and Blitz escape but Stolas is still worrying and looks around for him before asking Fizzie where he is. Fizz tells him that Blitz just went home. Maybe have Stolas think this means Blitz didn't want to see him or thinks he wouldn't care, when really Blitz has no idea Stolas was involved at all and so no reason to even consider wether he would be worried or not.

Ok, wait… so your whole reason for condemning the entire episode as “an unfullfilling failure” is because you don’t like Striker? Ouch, man.
I mean, it’s valid to not like an episode if you feel it’s ruined your fave character, but it’s kinda lame to act like that makes the episode obviously lame for everyone.
I personally like Striker more since ‘Western Energy’ than I did before (I didn’t like him at all before) and I would like to remind you he was not successful then either: he couldn’t even keep Moxxie down for long back then, let alone fullfill his contract with Stella and kill Stolas. All we’ve seen him successfully take down was a farm pig and we don’t even have any idea how hard that is, because we’ve only seen that he’s better at it than the city boy (Moxxie). All we really heard him do is talk and sing (and succeed in farm games against Moxxie, that Millie would’ve kicked his butt in if she’d been allowed to play). His whole purpose in the episode seemed to be to knock Moxxie down more pegs (a character who already gets the short straw from everyone but his own wife).
Striker actually continuing to fail and being unhinged makes a lot of sense to me. The guys that need to constantly bully the little guy tend to be little guy themselves. All that is to say that I never took him seriously as a dangerous villain, but just as a guy who’s full of himself and will sing his own praises every chance he gets, because he NEEDS that adoration, but otherwise has little to offer.
Note: again, you do not have to agree with me about Striker’s characterisation and I can understand why you don’t like it - I just don’t share your opinion. And I do think the episode was epic. I watched it again yesterday and was just like “Wow, this is so good!”.
Again, you do NOT have to agree with me. And there are a lot of fans who agree with you about Striker and are upset about his current portrayal.
EDIT: I didn’t watch the whole thing (I actually thought I had, but that was because of a long YT ad that kinda threw off my focus). - So, I’m going to go ahead and watch the rest of your vid, and may add new thoughts (and/or apologies) in a comment.

I have to keep in mind that, as of your making this vid, the episode ‘Mammon’s Magnificent Musical’ hadn’t been released yet, so try to not start complaining about your takes on Fizz and Ozzie.
Ozzie is actually my fave character - and has been since ‘Oops’ - I do not consider him boring. He actually blew me out of the sky in that episode, with how wholesome he is and how healthy his take on lust and love are. My biggest concern was Fizz hiding stuff from him, and how he was trying so hard to keep their relationship a secret. That, of course, has been resolved with the Mammon episode.
It’s concerning to me that you don’t find his support of /consent/ in regards to love and sex to be interesting, esp considering he’s the embodiment of the Sin of Lust. He could have been much worse. But he’s not, he’s got a healthy take on it, which was a big deal to me. That has made him stand out over nearly all the other characters in the show, with maybe the exception of Moxxie and Millie. - We def can’t say Blitz has a truly healthy take on sex and relationships.
As for his whole thing in “Ozzie’s”, the whole reason he was upset was first of with Moxxie killing his vibe. He didn’t even bother with Stolas or Blitz /until/ Fizz went after Blitz and that was only after Blitz went to Moxxiee’s rescue. Furthermore, Ozzie pretty much forgot all about Stolas and Blitz, evenbefore they left. He had turned his attention fully back onto Moxxie and Millie.
As bad as I felt for Moxxie and Millie, I feel Ozzie was right. It’s not a romantic restaurant, it’s a /sex club/. If you want into a sex club and tried to turn it into a romantic candlelit dinner with a soft seranade, you’d probably get thrown out too. Yes, he was mean to Stolas, doxxing and picking on him publicly like that for just being there - he hadn’t spoken up at all or tried to draw any attention to himself, he even looked worried when he realised Ozzie was actally there. But, again, Ozzie’s primary focus was actually on Moxxie and Millie and how they kept persistently trying to change the whole genre of his club.
But I was that much more pleased when Blitz called him and Fizz out on it, calling them hypocrites. I was surprised Stolas didn’t say anything, but Stolas /was/ there to ask a favour. And I had to notice how chill Ozzie was about it when Stolas revealed having more than just lustful feelings for Blitz. The part that concerned Ozzie was that he thought Stolas intended to /force/ it. There was otherwise no mocking, no scolding, not even a scoff.
And it was fun watching Stolas offer to read the contract for Ozzie, and then be excited about reading the long one. That he could genuinely - and sincerely - help Ozzie in such a trying time. I’d love to see them interacting with each other again.
I loved Blitz in this episode. Loved how he really got to shine with his escape plan (even if Fizz could’ve just grabbed the remote for him), and with the escape. And I loved seeing him and Blitz clear things up and basically make up. I’m so glad that happened instead of the bitterness just continuing. And it was awesome how Blitz softened up when he realised Fizz was /in love/. Like literally straight up said he was happy for him, instead of using it to further mock and attack Fizz like he could have done.
I really just loved this episode (and I loved the Mammon one - these two, which really feel like they are a 1&2 parter, are my currrent top fave episodes in the whole series). And, of course, like you mention, how he admitted he was wrong, how he showed real regret for what happened, including self-blame (even though he shouldn’t blame himself, but that was needed - he needed Fizz to forgive him before he could even consider forgiving himself).
And Fizz was so awesome in it too! It surprised me how soft Fizz is in general. So very unlike his Looloo Land robot counterpart. I really like that Fizz is a great performer, but not a fighter. I’m glad Blitz got to be the rescuer and, in doing so, show Fizz he is amazing at something too - and that Fizz acknolwedged it.
About Stolas… when has Vivzie ever done an after-credits scene? LOL! That’s a weird thing to suddenly expect. (Not counting the ‘Addict’ music video or the Hazbin Hotel pilot, I’m talking about /within the show in question/ - I could be wrong, I just can’t remember any.) And I’ve already given my opinions on the scenes with Stolas and Ozzie, so I won’t repeat that.
About the phalic jokes: what did you expect in the Lust Ring with the Embodiment of Lust himself? Also, you forgot the rooster cuckoo clock (or I blinked - it’s lit a blink and you’ll miss it part to begin with… I think I only caught it the second time I watched the episode). Anyway, you can’t possibly have been surprised that he has a sex toy factory after knowing he has a sex club.
I really don’t get people’s beef with the sex jokes. They’re funny af and /I’m ace/. As far as I’m concerned, this show could have literal porn scenes with the (adult) charas and I’d love it. It’d surely get rid of the prudes (or give them more fodder, and then I could point and laugh at how they’re watching porn anyway).
I do not think Vivzie’s petty. I think people just like to think she is because it’s fun to try and rip on someone you’re jealous of. (Yes, that’s what all these rips are her say to me: “I’m jealous of her, but I don’t know how to deal with it in a constructive manner and I sure as hell am not going to admit it.”. Either way, it is not very mature.)
You say that “most people grow out of it”… ohhhhh, boy, just wait. You’re going to be so surprised and how perve older people are.
But, seriously, stop ripping on her. Like I said, it’s not mature of you either, no matter how valid you believe it to be.
Perhaps it would be enlightening to tell you hat I am in my mid 40’s. I’m guessing you’re nowhere near that. I have a lot of life experience, have dealt with a lot of people of a lot of different ages (from babies to seniours), and it seems like you’ve got a ways to go and a lot of experience to gain. Don’t worry, you’ll get there. You’ll have that moment where you’re like “OMG, does mturity never happen ever??”; for me, it was a parent-teacher group thing; and then again with a group of seniours. Maturity is simply not something that comes with age. It’s something that has to be worked at.
With Blitz/Fizz past and relationship: it was really clear just through Blitz how close he and Fizz were. Particularly when he was looking through his phone. The fact that he still KEPT those pics of Fizz instead of throwing them out showed they were once very close and that he still deeply cares about Fizz. You don’t have to see everything on-screen to understand.
Anyway, what I’m getting from a lot of the critisisms of the show and Vivzie is starting to really tell me that her show is probably not as young adult-oriented as people seem to think it is.
Now, I am not saying the show as a whole is perfect - I dare you to gve me a show that the whole world thinks is entirely perfect - but I absolutely love it and it’s become my fave (with only ‘Invader Zim’ to truly rival it; and IZ does absolutely rival it). There s just so much in the series that makes it incredible. There are, of course, episodes and characters I don’t like (like charas I really /don’t/ like, not charas I love to hate - in Helluva Boss, I do not like Stella and I would be very happy if we never saw her again and I’d be perfectly happy if she just disappears without a word or reason, she doesn’t need a bang or even a ‘goodbye’, I’d be fine if the writers just kinda forgot to writer her ever again… yeah, she’s the one I don’t like; but I love to hate Mammon and Crim and pretty much all the other antagonists, and definitely want to keep them), but that’s the case with literally every show I’ve ever seen (including IZ). Well, I don’t /always/ have a chara that I dislike as much as Stella, but there is one - two actually - of those in IZ (also an antagonist, though in a different way: Keef and Dwicky, for anyone who’s curious).
Again, though… all of this is just my subjective opinion. You don’t have to agree.

If you think it's a fail then you don't understand what a slow burning story is
The episode was pretty good and the season so far is pretty fine, it's given backstory to multiple characters which is needed
Sounds like you're just disappointed for whatever reason

Just because the episode had slight issues doesn’t outright mean it was a failure. In my opinion, this was one of the better episodes with something good finally happening to Blitz’s life as well as getting more flashbacks that explain how Blitz and Fizz got their scars and why Fizz hated Blitz in the first place. I’m sorry but there is just no way that this episode was way worse than Seeing Stars. Oops was one of the best episodes of season 2 and possibly the best episode in the entire series so far. Of course your opinions of the episode are respected but that is just my thought on the matter.
