Very good question. I guess it depends on the judge and how far left he/she/it leans and commiserates with the criminal. I understand bail for petty crime but I am not sure that violent criminals should be allowed to freely walk the Earth in civilized society. And this was a violent crime (aggravated kidnapping). Talk to your judge. Remember, kids, elections have consequences!
A few here in Phoenix used to have them. Hell there were some in a couple of malls. Then we got a rhino governor that decided that was a bad idea. Apparently he doesn’t remember or was too privileged to see how low crime rates were in those areas.
Sometimes Walmarts will hire cops who are off-duty to work as security for the store when off work. They have full police powers and all that, it’s just all the expenditure paid for by the store or whatever (correct me if I’m wrong). Someday we might just see them slap a Louisville Metro PD booth in the middle of the pharmacy isle LOL.
To be fair, they are just walking around a market with a lot of people in it, and being approached from behind. Pretty easy not to see that coming. Not like they are on a road and the cop has his lights and sirens on.
It’s very typical for Walmart where people are not aware of their surroundings, maybe if you hear footsteps behind you along with loud jingling of keys you should look behind you instead of walking around oblivious to your surroundings. Also the cart that just cut off the cop clearly saw him but didn’t care, no way their tunnel vision is that bad lol 😅
In my experience the vast majority of human beings stumble through life with all the situational awareness of Hellen Keller in a sensory deprivation tank.
If you have people telling the cops where you are and what you’re wearing in a WALMART, you’re up to absolutely no good. Also, props to the victim. She got out at the perfect moment without being told to. You could tell she was terrified, but she did a great job of getting herself out of danger, and allowing the officer to do his job without having to worry about harming her.
“I didn’t do nothin’ wrong!!!!!!! Well, besides the hit-and-run, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal passion of a controlled substance, attempted car jacking and attempted murder of an officer. Besides that, I didn’t do nothin’ wrong man!!!”
The lack of situational awareness of people when the officer is walking past them from behind is unfortunately not shocking. With those charges I'm wondering what misdemeanor the DA will let him plead to.
It's like that in every Walmart I've ever been to. Employees and customers. I mostly shop at Meijer's now. It's a little more expensive but the employees and customers seem to be a lot smarter.
@@michaelbread5906 I live close to this WalMart. YES you should look over your shoulder every 3 seconds. This is a Walmart that we may lose over open 💊 use/sales, theft so bad it's almost comical, and fights.
That is one of the best use of force scenarios I've seen in years. that officer handled his sitch perfectly. The only sad part is that poor lady is not only traumatized but she has a considerable repair bill and a mess to clean up. That is a prime example of why you ALWAYS lock your doors.
Since the van was in Park (good thing for the officer) I bet the doors automatically unlocked when she shifted to P. Most cars do that these days but can be reprogrammed.
Yeah I was about to say the same thing. That drive thru pharmacy is also my pharmacy and my car also automatically unlocks the doors in park. So far I have yet to find an override for it in my VW.
@@alaska79 there’s usually a way. If you have the owners manual it will be in there. Or search “programming locks on 20** VW ____” and see what comes up. It’s usually Unlock when shifted to Park, Unlock when Engine off, or Manual Unlock that you can set it to.
I laughed when he said "I can't move my arm! Y'all did something to it!" and I see blood running from his shoulder. Did you also catch that he said "No, she kidnapped ME!" Wow.
I think dude said "He kidnapped me" possibly in reference to the scene introduction where we learned that this guy ran on foot. I'm reaching here, but what if that's not a lie and dude was trying to get TF away from his kidnapper and keep the weapons away. You lose me when grandma gets involved
I was in Walmart this week with my youngest. Fire alarm starts going off and i immediately take his hand and we calmly walk straight out the closest normal door. We were the ONLY two people who walked out.
As someone who works there probably hundreds of miles away from you. People pull the alarm for fun everyday so we stopped caring. We’re so miserable we’d probably walk into the flames let alone run away from them.
@@Edmitsu I worked at a Lowe's where the alarm company damaged the alarm. It went off AT LEAST once a day. I always walked out of the building - hell, I get paid by the hour - but customers would try to STOP ME TO HELP THEM!
To be fair the alarms go off pretty frequently. Especially the security alarms. Scared the hell out of one poor lady just as she was walking out the door, and the super loud siren starts going off right over her head. I think most people are conditioned to wait until they see some vague sign that there is an actual emergency. A whiff of smoke, people running, yelling, etc. You can be super safe, but 99 times out of 100 you will just be messing up your shopping trip and waiting out in the parking lot for half an hour until you figure out nothing is actually happening. But yes, even when there was actual smoke in the building or still took some doing to get all the customers outside. They really wanted to finish getting those groceries, you know, and there wasn't actually flames coming out the roof.
@@51953bdog Yeah, but also remember she's an older woman just trying to get her medications. I don't think most people that age (especially women) are gonna be able to have an instant response to a dangerous scenario.

Massive respect to all of the officers for having the discipline to not end the guy's life in all honesty. A lot of officers in that situation would've taken his life. This department has good men.
UGH. That woman who just bumbled into the aisle completely unaware of the people walking twice as fast as her down it and blocking the entire aisle. She's why shopping sucks. EDIT: Correction: everybody in that f**king store needs to gain some situational awareness. Completely zonked out and ignoring everything going on around them.
The "to-be-fair" part is that they're slow moving enough to where they're usually pretty easy to predict in terms of movement, so I guess they expect people to be able to maneuver through the crowd and such. That and I guess most people would just hear the sound of jingling keys and expect it to simply just be a manager running past.
@@bongboi2831 One can not judge the view by seeing just the end result as you describe. A criminal may have just sexually assaulted a child, murdered someone, beat an elderly individual. And Heaven forbid if that had happened to someone in one's family, it makes one wonder if it would be excusable. Noone knows how they would react on it being excusable unless it happened to them.
Maybe the lady will finally wake up and choose to protect herself. Some people are just slow and don't "feel" that they need protection until they actually get victimized (that's too late) and then they go all gung ho.
"Ya'll see a man with an orange shirt come through here?" "Yea, he's armed" "Where's he going?" "He's got on an orange shirt!" .... Yep, this is my city.
Love how shoppers at Walmart just walk around like they’re the only people there. Middle of the isles, slow oblivious. Same with the employees. Lemming everywhere. Why are you pushing past me Officer? 😂
I thought that was hilarious. I shopped Walmart yesterday - which I don't usually do - and it was amazing how STUPID people were. They would park in the middle of an aisle only wide enough for two carts to pass side-by-side and just become oblivious to everything around them. Idiots.
Usually talking loudly on speakerphone too. My local walmart is a shithole ever since Biden started flying in African migrants. They all drive brand new cars and carts overflowing with groceries at a time when working people are scraping by. It makes me fucking sick. 70% of my income goes to taking care of people who refuse to work, Israel and Zelensky.
That POOR elderly lady, though. She'll never be the same again, now with PTSD. Thank God she found the courage to run, AND thay she didn't run into the line of fire, even in her panic. [From the moment she exited the van and started running, I was leaning to the right, like trying to "direct her" to run in a straight line, instead of behind the van, LOL!] You rock, Gramma! @@tripleBification Dear Dodo: The guy had guns which the cop didn't know if he was in a position to easily shoot her if they were on him and she was screaming, which leads to the next point. He was actively committing assault against the woman by terrifying her out of her mind. Donut's take was that he shot because the foot was on the gas pedal but if you had used your own common sense you would have realized that by not disabling the man, the woman's life was in more danger. Further, cops are trained not to shoot unless they have a clean shot and he waited until he knew he wouldn't hit her so your "overzealous" comment is just that: An overzealous comment. Sit down.
@tripleBification Cop shot the suspect because he was armed and dangerous and trying to hit him with the van. The cop doesn't have to wait for the suspect to brandish a weapon or point it at him to view him as a threat. The cop shot the suspect who was inches away from the victim and yet he didn't hit the victim, which is a much better outcome than what would've likely happened if the suspect managed to leave the scene with her still in the vehicle. Lastly, what you can or can't see in the video don't mean jack because the cop wanted the suspect to show his hands so HE could see them. Does the camera have a gun or does the cop? Exactly. Show your hands so THE COPS can see them.
Hey, at least they're getting free advertising. LOL! For those who enjoy the wild and stupidity of others it's a great place for creative content or simply to bask and laugh at the delightful antics of the less and/or under educated...or just damned stupid.
Not having been in law enforcement, yet being a Veteran, the training teaches eliminate the threat!!! He did so, in addition to saving the lady's life!!! Kudos to the law enforcement officer!!!
Personal opinion…… without knowing all the details, based off of what I saw, the Police Officer was 💯 in the right. Above and beyond that, the officers were authoritative, but calm, did not make any mistakes that I saw to escalate, and kept a stoic demeanor during the entire encounter. This should probably be a training video for proper use of force in hectic situations.
I feel really bad for that woman, not only did she experience this trauma, but now I'm sure she has to foot the bill to fix her van and clean idiot blood out of it.
Me? lol no I am not a bot and I never copied anything. That is my original, though I’m sure widely shared, thoughts about Walmart. People are so brain dead. I have only posted one video and that is me in it so you could see I am not a bot. Or are you the bot announcing yourself as a bot?
It’s not that. Just no self awareness. Walking blindly out in front of people not ever slightly checking if someone was coming. The cop has stuff jingle like crazy hanging off him you can clearly hear it miles away. I don’t expect people to be psychic and know everything but a lot of people in this video are completely in their own little world and have zero awareness.
Another example of why the color of someone's skin does not matter. If you resist, flee, etc... and then continue to exhibit criminal behaviors (in this case a carjacking) when police finally chase you down, you will get repercussions.
I swear people are so oblivious. Swivvle your head, take notice of the key dangling and running thud sounds, observe the situation, and move out the way. FFS people, wake up
Was thinking the same thing, but if you watch car chases you will notice that no matter if you are in a car or walking the Walmart people are in their own bubble. Plus workers probably have earbuds in.
That's amazing. Your auto insurance is void when being used in the commission of a crime, but she was FORCED into the situation..... would insurance still not cover it? (assuming she had full coverage or uninsured coverage)
In video after video, people are carjacked, because they're driving around in an unlocked car, or they have their home walked into, through unlocked doors, or windows. Now, I grew up during a time when locking doors was only a necessity in cities. That was during the late 50s-early 70s, 5 decades ago. Things have changed. Lock your doors!
I love how even the cops have trouble getting around the online order pullers , there is like 10 walmart employees shopping for every 1 customer at my store , between the pallet of stock blocking the aisles and them its hard to even shop there anymore, just get out your car and go inside people , walking is healthy.
A) Officer acted properly B) Showed restraint C) This happened at the Walmart that I go to, just 2 miles from my house. Keep those doors locked, people!

What IS a Universal Balance does it not contain ALL things good and bad? More and Less? Who says taking from Yin does not also take from yang? Who can say that even if it DOES take from Yang that it even matters because the total never changes? And therein lies the problem Yin and yang are no more provable than God himself! Very good question. I guess it depends on the judge and how far left he/she/it leans and commiserates with the criminal.

A few here in Phoenix used to have them. Hell there were some in a couple of malls. Then we got a rhino governor that decided that was a bad idea. Apparently he doesn’t remember or was too privileged to see how low crime rates were in those areas.
We have them in some South Carolina Wally marts .
And YOU should learn how to spell, 3rd grader!
Sometimes Walmarts will hire cops who are off-duty to work as security for the store when off work. The amount of people just in the fucking way unaware is frustrating.
That is so true. Even the employees. 😄
In my experience the vast majority of human beings stumble through life with all the situational awareness of Hellen Keller in a sensory deprivation tank.
Why? Are they meant to simply know? It's not like the cop was making himself particularly known neither. I swear donuts fans are some of the dumbest.

She doesn’t have a repair bill and mess to clean up. The police dept/ city has a repair bill and mess to cleanup, or a brand new car to buy her.

That’s also why folks die in flame filled large buildings
Shame when folks treat alarms as fun.
@@Edmitsu I worked at a Lowe's where the alarm company damaged the alarm. It went off AT LEAST once a day. I always walked out of the building - hell, I get paid by the hour - but customers would try to STOP ME TO HELP THEM!
I swear, Walmart Shoppers in the states are zombies lol!
Always lock your doors when you are driving. Im glad she is ok.

Exactly.
