    I was very afraid of this spring. The fact is that there was a lot of snow and the temperature sharply turned positive. A huge stream of water gushed from the fields and forests into the river. And the river began to demolish everything in its path. My house was unlucky too...

      I praise your can-do attitude, Alex. Can't let these things get you down when there's work to be done!
      Think about preventative measures for next time. Wood varnish, mini trenches to divert water, or even putting some sort of barrier around parts of the house to prevent inflow.
      You can even build a small trench/pipe under the house to help move water out in the event of future flooding.
      Lots of ideas! 😊

    Maybe a difficult thing to do, but perhaps you could try draining the surrounding area (digging a trench towards an area that is situated lower) so the water does not accumulate around the dugout?

    • @steiner554
      @steiner554 2 месяца назад +14

      That's is the only way to stop this from happening again. Draining all that water outside of the house away from the area by digging channels.

    • @ThePaulv12
      @ThePaulv12 2 месяца назад +17

      Maybe the river has come up due to annual thaw. It's apparent now that even hundreds of meters or even KMs from the river that it rises and floods the forest annually and it will happen again. Even a water table rise in this friable sandy soil is going to flood the dugout it seems.
      I couldn't live with this. I'd have to dig another hole, reclaim the wood and start again further up.

    Oh, dear!! So sorry for your water troubles, Alex. You just walked in, evaluated the damage, came up with a game plan, rolled up your sleeves, and started working...with a smile on your face! 🙂 I'm sure you will come up with some clever ideas about how to prevent this from happening again in the future (if at all possible).
    My recollection is that you were running electricity in your underground home in the last video. You might want to try running a dehumidifier to pull the moisture out of the wood. We use one in our basement and it's amazing how well it dries out the humidity.
    Glad you didn't try to get the house all cleaned up during the 2 days you were there. That's a LOT of work. Please pace yourself and give your body proper rest.
    Take care and see you on your next video. 👍

    Alex I'm glad you retained a sense of humour about that lovely disaster. just a tip, when it comes to cleaning a giant mess - its always easier to scrape the excess off the floor (as you did) and my approach would have been not to add water to the floor initially but shovel the mud out, light the fire as you have done and created the space for air circulation, and pull down all the fittings (curtains and so forth for washing), then start at the top and work your way down, all the walls, chair legs and bench tops and shove it all on teh floor, and then reshovel the stuff out. when the bulk of the mud was off the floor (and the crumbs) then i would have put the water on the floor to do the final wash. its much easier and saves time. Having said that.. rather you than me cleaning that mess.

    Да , Лёха, первые кадры - это шок, страх,ужас, паника, боль, обида‼️
    Но потом ты просто умничка‼️ Взял себя в руки , навел такой порядок, просто молодчина . Все будет хорошо, всё со временем подсохнит, только наверное надо почаще приходить и протапливать землянку. Благо у тебя обработан пол. Со временем весь налет-мусор обсыпится со столбов и брёвен и будет - зашибись 😊‼️
    Не падай духом ‼️
    Почаще приходи в это жилище , протапливай.
    Высохнет. Ты, мужик рукастый , всё сделаешь как надо. Будь здоров , а это самое главное.
    Мира и добра всем 🙏🙏🙏

    Oh, Alex!!😮
    How sad! So much hard work and more to come cleaning up.
    The other reason it flooded inside is because the soil was disturbed by digging it out, but with no real way to compact the soil, it will soak right through it and soften the outer walls and all the edges.
    Drain channels may work, but the water is subsoil (groundwater) leaching up from below rather than an active flood condition.
    It looks like the water line was over two feet high and just sat there for weeks. Anything not nailed down will float.
    So sorry this happened.😢
