A fan art sea shanty about Mollymauk Tealeaf from the Dungeons and Dragons show Critical Role.
A few months ago (before the current sea shanty madness) I discovered an old sea song called Mollymauk (it's a kind of albatross) and I knew immediately that I needed to rewrite this to be about the beloved purple tiefling.

I like to imagine the following scene while listening to this: after Mollymauk's been avenged, The Mighty Nein travels to a port town, be it Port Damali or somewhere else, to rest after their quest and prepare themselves for a new adventure. As they walk past one of the town squares, they hear a band playing; they stop for a moment to listen to the song, but while they intially believe it's just another shanty about marine birds (mollymawks), they listen into the lyrics and realise the band is singing of Mollymauk Tealeaf, the tale of his deeds and death already reaching far and wide. Shedding tears at the memories the song invokes, the Nein smiles collectively, knowing their purple friend will forever live in the songs across Exandria.

Oh my god I just realized while hearing "far from that empty grave" over and over
His first word as Molly, the one that he got his name from, was "empty"
And now his grave is empty indeed
