I find it funny how you’re pointing out Dr. Hartman’s lack of professionalism in having a tip jar but not saying anything about the fact that he admitted to never having gone to medical school in the same scene.
@@TheFrugalVideoGamer I actually disagree! I think it was more of a 'hint hint, nudge nudge. if medical school is so expensive than any nearby doctors would be in pretty big debt' kinda thing.
3:12 The fact Dr. Hartman said it’s _probably_ pretty expensive heavily implies that he never went to medical school to begin with and he’s just collecting tips for his own monetary gain. That just makes it all the more funnier. 😂
Yeah, the pharmacy scene was mostly a spoof to I Love Lucy. There's an episode where Lucy is working in a candy factory and she has to take a piece of candy off a converter-belt and into its respective box. unfortunately, the converter-belt accelerate, resulting in Lucy stuffing the candy into her pockets and bra, and then eating them.
The conveyor belt scene was a spoof on an old "I Love Lucy" gag where she and Ethel get hired at a chocolate packing plant, and the conveyor belt speeds up to the point that they're just cramming their faces trying to keep the product from dropping.
This doctor’s laugh is super contagious, making me feel better and soulfully good tonight. It’s just so cool seeing a doctor nerding out and giving out advice from his perspective is quite compelling.
Glad you enjoyed it! I love how some of these shows, even Family Guy, really nails the medical jargon. What TV show or movie would you like to see me react to next?
As an Australian, hearing a US doctor say people won't visit the ER because they can't afford it honestly breaks my heart. Everyone deserves access to universal healthcare.
This issue just shows that in some areas the US is not a first world country. There's the saying "The US is a third world country with a first world military". Saying that as someone from Germany where not calling the ambulance if you see someone in need is illegal.
I mean, if a defibralator caused someone to explode like that, either it had been drastically overcharged to an impossible degree, or his insides were already liquefied, in which case he was already fucked, so it doesn't matter.
Fun fact: The pharmacy scene is an allusion to a similar episode in I Love Lucy where Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance are doing that same thing but with Chocolate while trying, if I'm remembering the episode right, to earn some extra cash. Classic scene and nice to see it get paid homage to even today.
I’d suggest Sam o’nella’s videos on ancient surgeries and improbable tales of survival. I’d love to see how you react to those videos, they’re really interesting and funny
Funny thing on staples for surgery on dogs, my pup had his front leg removed after he got hit by a car (we adopted him about 2 months after the surgery). The vet who removed the staples missed two, one that was partially stuck out and one that had healed within the skin fold over his shoulder (so it was fully encased in skin). Clearly, they forgot to count the staples they put in vs took out. He was very relieved after we got them taken out, since the skin around them was pretty swollen. It was our first vet visit with him.
As I have heard, "blowing up a patient" actually happened in the old days, when ether was still used as a sedative. When the patient had inhaled ether, and it became mixed with oxygen in the lungs, just a tiny spark could ignite it.
Also, that conveyor belt gag is a play on an I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel worked at a chocolate factory with the belt going so fast they were stuffing some in their moths, chef hats, aprons and what not.
You went right over the funniest part of the tip-jar scene. The doctor says medical school is "probably expensive." The Doctor doesn't know how expensive medical school is: implying that he never went to medical school.
You are a real doctor I wish we had somebody like you here in Maryland. Doctor's out here don't take things seriously enough and they shrug off our problems and unless we literally pay them more then they won't get into detail about what's wrong with us. My mom recently had to go to the hospital because she was going to get her test back because she hasn't been doing too well health wise. The doctors told her they will not give her the test results until she gets a lung bar puncher and pays for the bills that she owes and that's very scary because what if something bad happens to my mom.

I wish you had (during the Hodgkin's lymphoma part) covered the part of that episode's plot that talks about how the reason Scotty has untreated cancer is that his parents have a religious belief that only prayer is needed, and therefore don't believe in medical science. What do doctors typically do in this type of situation? What even can you do?
I agree and appreciate everything Dr Wagner says except for his viewpoint on insurance and no matter your insurance you need to go to the emergency room, clearly this man has never been broke or has been on medicaid, cuz hospitals treat you very differently depending on if you have insurance or if you have government medical Care, not just the things that are allowed to treat you with but just to respect is a massive difference you get no respect as a Medicaid patient they bring you in and then push you right out my brother was sent home the same day he got surgery on a broken arm and leg in a basketball accident and was told he wasn't allowed to go home until he could walk for at least get to a toilet on his own and he couldn't do it, but they told him he had to get out anyway because he's Medicaid and he's not allowed to stay so long in the hospital rooms, they refuse to give him any pain medicine for three broke bones after getting out of surgery they only gave him pain medicine as soon as he came out of surgery and then the entire two days he was in recovery he had no pain med at all
That scene at 7:40 is a reference to a very old episode of I’d like to say golden girls? where they are at a chocolate factory and the conveyor line was too fast so they started to eat it

YES! Welcome! Thank you so much! Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to see me discuss or react to on my channel.
"I've never seen another doctor blow up a patient". Whew... that's a load off my mind. Haha
“That’s a real concern when people don’t have insurance” laughs in Australian.
I realized the pills scene was a Lucy And The Chocolates reverence.
Hahah yes!
That pharmacy clip reminded me of the I Love Lucy segment where Lucy and Ethel are wrapping up chocolates and the conveyor belt speeds up.
8:42 *you* weren't expecting that? what about me? i nearly fell over in my seat. O_O
😂😂😂
I agree and appreciate everything Dr Wagner says except for his viewpoint on insurance and no matter your insurance you need to go to the emergency room, clearly this man has never been broke or has been on medicaid, cuz hospitals treat you very differently depending on if you have insurance or if you have government medical Care, not just the things that are allowed to treat you with but just to respect is a massive difference you get no respect as a Medicaid patient they bring you in and then push you right out my brother was sent home the same day he got surgery on a broken arm and leg in a basketball accident and was told he wasn't allowed to go home until he could walk for at least get to a toilet on his own and he couldn't do it, but they told him he had to get out anyway because he's Medicaid and he's not allowed to stay so long in the hospital rooms, they refuse to give him any pain medicine for three broke bones after getting out of surgery they only gave him pain medicine as soon as he came out of surgery and then the entire two days he was in recovery he had no pain med at all
I like that he says what you actually need to do
Thank you!
@@DoctorER After watching this vid I am able to help my cuts also can you do more vids pls I really like them
Been binging your content, and I enjoy it. I believe Mash would be right up your alley
Just subscribed man! Awesome content and one of my favorite guests on Gamology
Thank you so much! Truly appreciate it.
That scene at 7:40 is a reference to a very old episode of I’d like to say golden girls? where they are at a chocolate factory and the conveyor line was too fast so they started to eat it
I am always impressed how Dr Hartman got this far lol are there any doctors from TV shows you like?
Haha right?! I just reacted to The Simpsons the other day, and Dr. Nick was no better. I find the cartoon doctors to be questionable to say the least.
@@DoctorER would you agree there would be bunch of legal issues in terms of how cartoon doctors are certified?
Watched all four videos. Very educational. Thank you. :)
Thank you! Don't forget to subscribe too! More to come.
@@DoctorER Did it.
1:31 do you WANT me to be in medical debt for the rest of my life?
I'm on a binging streak of your reaction vids. I would love to see you react to Osmosis Jones!
When will you be on Gamology again doing react videos?
I have a few react videos coming with Gamology for their Experts React series very soon! Stay tuned!
@@DoctorER Great can't wait!
I get the feeling that Dr. Wagner's parents never let him watch TV as a kid and these are the first cartoons he's ever seen.
The best are those of Dr. Elmer Hartman
Yes! What other TV shows or movies would you like to see me react to next?
@@DoctorER WWE/AEW
7:40 that's a classic I love Lucy skit.
Original was chocolates, the production line was going so fast they started eating them trying to keep up.
I think you should try the show untold stories of the ER
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll have to check it out.
"Don't pull anything out that's impaled into your body"
I'm still crying for Steve Irwin.
....I am curious though, how would an ER Dr react to a man coming into the hospital with a stingray stabbing his heart?
I recently Finished watching avatar the last Airbender and legend of Korra, there are medical parts in there just not with actual doctors. I’d be very interested to see your take on it
"Well it's probably pretty expensive." Is the best line ever.
I can tell the tip jar really hit you hard
Definitely
I wish every doctor was like doctor hartmann
