This woman is a rare kind of hero. My outlook on life is really bleak because I don't hear about people like her often enough. I wish someone would put crooked business owners and politicians in their graves.
For those that may be wondering, this situation was the result of pets being euthanized via lethal injection, then the dead animal was processed as meat and added to the pet food supply.
NOPE-IT WAS UREA ADDED TO THE FOODS TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE MORE PROTEIN WAS THERE THAN WAS ACTUALLY THERE. The euthanasia drug is in ALL DOG GRADE PET GRADE FOODS; CHECK OUT THE RENDERING PLANT VIDEOS ON RUclips-REALLY UPSETTING
My family, from my great-grandfather with his beagle kennel to the dozen of his grandchildren who have pets have all fed nothing but Purina (and table scraps). Our beagle passed away at 17, our cat at 19, my mom's dog at 19, my uncle's cat at 21. I've met people who work at Purina, and the quality control seems to be stricter than the Sara Lee factory that I worked at.
Purina is processed food. Regardless of the brand name, processed food is NOT species appropriate for any carnivore. Thank You Professor Robert Lustig (2018) for "Turning The Table on Processed Food" (DVD) and renaming diabetes type 2 as "processed food disease".
Make your own dog food, people! It's so easy and so much more healthy for your pet! Since I started several years ago, my dog has more energy, sleeps better, smells better and only poops once per day. On kibble, he'd be going up to 4 times daily! So your research, learn what is safe for them and what is not (like onions) and go from there. It's so easy!
Google "Clean Label Project" they test & do studies on popular Cat & Dog food & treats, CLP have a 5 star to 1 Star ratings on popular American dog & cat foods, join & they'll email testing after they do every 4-6 months...
they show a lot of really junk food as 5 stars... a lot of food that has had numerous recalls.. Ill pass on using that website as any kind of authority
Jennifer Hahn: The nitrogen bit from urea was like the nitrogen from the plastics (Melamine) in baby formula in China a few years ago, added to make the protein content seem higher. Labs run a test to determine the amount of Nitrogen in a sample and go with the amount as the content of protein and assume it is all from protein, and urea also has a high Nitrogen content.
You don't need to find the toxin with that high of a correlation. Ultimately taking it off the market was an answer. If Mars/Royal Canin found something after and back peddled - the story is enough. Adjvants pass the blood brain barrier and are become neurotoxic .... Who are you? Ah wait, a laughing Pirate.
The sample size is messed up they only went top down so we don't know what percent chance that the dog food would cause this problem and seriously one in four deaths that's only in regards to the already effected group that's almost akin to saying oh one in five people that choke on something die from asphyxiation. Its not too sensitive you have suspect data you say the correlation is over a hundred but if you only include cases of subjects that have the problem you could show the their is 100% correlation between anything. How did you get that number?

Thank-you for standing up for the truth -- and getting it to the public, even under such extreme pressure!
Brave woman, thank god for people like her.
Congratulations on keeping with it - how sad that you faced so many obstacles along the way.
Raw is the way to go. Haven't fed kibble in a while and will never again. Brave woman🥰

There's a reply to this post but it can't be viewed. Creepy.

BARF!!!! My dog was healthy and happy until he died with 15. No dog food industry will ever make it into my kitchen.

Glenn S Can you make any recommendations of foods to make them and how?
Same thing is happening in Australia now
When people ask me if I’m returning to Latvia after I finish my PhD, I will now direct them to this video
And now we have police dogs dying from the same thing
Yeah - police dogs dying in Melbourne Australia from toxic substance (I bet) found in dog food. Brand:- Advance (by MARS Incorporated).
Hurt people, that's one thing.
Hurt doggos, you are a monster.
What was the name of the dog food company that sued this veterinarian and the pet owners?
Dogo
So, what's the toxin? What brand of food was it?

AVODERM FOOD -UREA WAS IN THE FOOD....FOUND IN URINE TO MAKE THE PROTEIN CONTENT LOOK HIGHER ON PAPER...SHAME ON THEM

Jennifer, AvoDerm isn't made in Latvia, so your answer isn't correct.

this was in US or in Latvia? Im thinking Latvia...
2 cat owners disliked this video.
i am a queen (a female cat) owner a liked it :D
And this post is the least of it as to how science has been corrupted.
with all my respect, but you have not found the toxin, did you? and, of course, correlation does not automatically mean causation.
THEY FOUND IT-IT IS UREA AND THE FOOD IS AVODERM

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SAYING THIS OUTLOUD??????
