And the star of the show is .....Charlie yay. I loved hearing him chatting away. Hope he gets well soon. Nice camping spot. We used to go to our static caravan in the cold. Our young daughter loved the adventure. Take care of yourselves x Thanks for the vlog, very much appreciated x
"I'm here for vans not babies"......😋😂 It was good to see you coping all together as a family 👍🏼 I think for the size of the van a diesel heater might be the best option 👍🏼
Have you thought about hanging a thick woolly blanket or curtsins eith insulation to stop the heat leaving the van each time you open the door, and also stop the cold coming in
I can relate, I'm 80% complete with my build and haven't experienced this cold before in it. Turns out all my insulation didn't do the miracles I was expecting. Installing a diesel heater today.
Camping with a baby is sure different than solo. Loved Charlie’s snoring. That looked like a lovely place to be when the weather is warmer. Watching Charlie I can see that he has so much he wants to talk about and tell you. When he starts, you better be prepared for all of his questions.
We use a 12v electric blanket and a diesel heater in our van in Aus. Really happy with both. Super effective to heat the space in a large van. Surprising how cold it gets in the high country of Victoria in the winter.
Nice family trip Charlie is a star hope he is better soon. Thanks for taking us along and £21 seems reasonable for all the facilities available. Thanks Shaun.
We absolutely loved this video. What a lovely little family you have. Charlie is such a cute little lad! It’s great to follow and see him developing. Well done Shaun. We love Sundays! ❤️
Ecoflow Wave2, has a clip on battery base which can get you up to 8hrs. have it charging during the day from your Ecoflow powerbank with solar, driving etc. Night time sorted.
Yes I’ve got the wave2 but I only used it for the air con in the summer as it needs venting and I didn’t want to have the windows open in the cold months
After living in my van just over a year now I’m now coming away from power stations and installing a leisure battery system. I’ve also purchased an all in one heater that’s pre fused to connect direct to the leisure battery
You need to sort your solar out mate. I run a 120 flexable panel secured to my roof, to a EPEVER MPPT 20A Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V Auto, 20 amp. 2 A rated leasure batteries, split charger. Compressor fridge on all the time and the longest I've not moved or started the van is 4 days. Even then the batteries were fully charged, this was the same time of year and running a propex heater too. Toasty van. Especially after I gave in and fitted the fully Insulated bulkhead. Minus 10 outside before and 20 degrees in the van.
£21 a night with all those facilities & lovely surroundings is worth it I'd say, hot showers & clean loos are priceless. Camping with Charlie is a different story from waking up in the van, having a cuppa, hot shower to warm you up then cook breakfast before a nice walk wrapped up against the elements. Think warm weather is better for baby campouts on the whole. I miss tent camping, waking with frost on the ground outside my cosy tent then hot vegan brekkies cooked under the awning before a leisurely day begins. ❤
There are little mini heaters that are meant to be good for caravans and motor homes, little small plug ins from Amazon about £20 which are the size of a plug in air freshener, if that’s any good to quickly warm up the van for Charlie x
my shirt arrived thanks shaun . great vid family time in the van doesnt get any better. i put a diesel heater in my transit and its a game changer and kate will love it . 5 mins and your ready to turn it down . i didnt want diesel tank inside the van so if you look under the bonnet drivers side front chassis leg is a great shelf for a diesel tank . also its easy to fill and if theres spillage its out side the van you can fill it straight from the pump .but its the best . we will be going to hereford rowing club next weekend and that wouldnt be possible with out the diesel heater. 😁
I will never understand why so many campervan builders in this country don't instantly put in a diesel heater when doing their build, I think it was the first thing I did and planned it during the summer plus it was surprisingly cheap. It's bloody freezing in this country but even when it's not it's always wet and there's nothing more miserable then getting hit by both.🥶
cant go wrong with a diesel heater had a eberspacher d2 in my landy best mod i ever did plus i used there 24/7 controller could set a weeks worth of timings, u dont know the absolute bliss of getting into a hot landrover 6am in winter. in fact its one of the things i took off when i sold the truck its going in my narrowboat once i have enough pennys for that
Like the others below say. Diesel heater mate! And I think it's best to leave the camera in the van when going into public toilets/shower rooms for the most obvious of reasons!!!
Such a nice family trip 😊 And great to have these videos for later. My father filmed my sister and myself from we were babies in the 50's and during our childhood and then our own children. I have digitalized them and they are great memories 😊 Good luck with the heating 😊
Shaun I think either a fan heater or diesel heater would be ideal for the van. Truma do a combi boiler if you can get a good 2nd hand unit it would just mean you would need to fit a gas & water system as provided hot water also.
great Vvlog nice to see the family time, and well what can I say...charlie was definately the star of the show......so Kate not liking the camera then,, ah she will have to get used to it lol..... heating the van ummm what about a small air conditioner in winter you can have it on heat and in summer you can have it on cool...I don't suppose you could put a small wood fire heater in there could you?, or a pot belly??. see you next week, will get a tshirt from you soon. can it be posted to Adelaide Australia?.
I really enjoy your videos.just discovered your channel....I have lived in Europe and traveled in England quite extensively. I love seeing all the different areas and landscapes you show. I have been watching all your vids tonight and find them very comforting. Like the music you choose as well. ❤😊
Nice spot to spend the night. I've just checked it online as a possible camping spot, but dogs aren't allowed in the water. There's no way I could keep my Lab out of it - shame. Charlie is such a cutie. Loved his denim jacket. Even when he's off colour, he's still a happy chap
What an amazing spot - so many facilities, will definitely keep an eye on Southern Water next time we're camping in the SW. On the heating front, the exhaust centing might be an issue, but how does your Ecoflow Wave do for heat output?
So lovely to be spending quality time with your gorgeous family 🙏💕. Charlie is such a little star 😍... Hope he's over his cold soon and enjoy halloween 🎃🤗😘
diesl heater you dont want one but thy do the job and there is a man that makes silent pumps for them hook it up to the fuel return line life is golden
Now you have two issues, deciding about heating the van, but the main one, you had a bacon roll for breakfast, ON A BARM CAKE, not a roll, has to be a southern thing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@LoveSundays it's part of the great North/South divide, eons old war of words about the name of a round (burger shaped) bread product that's split in half to hold food. They said they change the code so it doesn’t matter. Plus this place is in the middle of nowhere so I doubt people will travel all the way there just to use the toilets 😂
Hello mate just a quick one I would suggest getting yourself a Chinese diesel heater they're not a lot of money and they can really warm your van up anyway hope you and your family are well from all of us at kernow EXP
