Oh... this was GOOD! No no... more than good of course!! There choreography too?!
The behind the scenes where so funny pretty much everyone but cesar struggled with the choreography
Please React to Morissette's song:
1. Rise Up
2. Love You Still
3. Fly Like A Bird - Mariah Careh Cover
4. Gusto ko nang Bumitaw
Please respond: my old vocal range is: C#1- A5, register used: subharmonic, chest, vocal fry, growl. Now: C3- A4, register used: Mixed, head, chest.
I've watched a bunch of reaction videos for this VoicePlay cover, and no one has yet commented on AleXa's high, almost angelic, sound as Geoff goes high since everyone is too stunned by Geoff. Listen again to Geoff's part and at about the 1:50 mark (of the original video) you hear AleXa come in and go above him. Took me like 6-7 listens to the song before it even registered that there was something happening above Geoff's high notes.
Can we see you do that splits? 🤣😂 Let's see if you could be casted as Alexa 2.0. Hahah
I need that laugh from Geoff as my ring tone.
😂😂
geoff is actually inhaling D1 B0 B0 which incredible low notes
Great idea!
@@turanbirligi6969 geoff cant inhale he can only get there subs, fry or growl
Hearing Geoff go from the bass-meant to the 5th octave is always amazing.
Geoff is too good. Handsome as hell, gorgeous voice, and of course a super smooth, super wide range. He needs to cease. Leave some talent for us other basses :(
@@WSlopeAggie, as many know, I have a lower and higher range than Geoff... still, I am jelly of what he can do with it. Nobody is matching his agility, and that's a fact.
Layne is making lion noises in this. Either that or they brought in a lion. I imagine it is Geoff going up there, but can't be sure, He is capable of it. AleXa sent them the choreography from where she was filmed in South Korea, by phone. It was great fun watching them trying to get it right. :) I have asked to see Cesar doing some dancing, as he is very capable of it, but so far - not really. Apparently AleXa approached them wanting to appear with them and this is the result. That look is amazing because they were filmed seperately on green screens, and put together in edit. :)
😂😂 100%
Geoff can go up to an A5 in falsetto. A D5 in head voice is nothing for him 😄
What Layne made is called Inward Bass, it's one of the most used beatbox techinics nowadays at the community
On occasion you can actually see background through Alexa
I think it was Geoff that hit the high note at 14:40 because Eli and Cesar are singing different parts. That's insanely high for Geoff
According to what he says and demonstrates in one of his videos, the part of his range that he can easily access at any time, is from A1 to A5.
he hits D5 there
@@turanbirligi6969 This means that he could have easily gone a fifth higher.🙂
@@friedemannkemm63 my mans can do subharmonics down to A0 (at least in songs), which is literally the lowest key on the piano no one ever uses, and he went down to like C#0 when trying to hit as low of a sub as possible, which is like 8 semitones lower
Geoff: reaches the roof
Also Geoff: slips and falls down into a damn abyss.
Lmao... Accurate
Truth. Truth.
He is very comfortable in the abyss.
That's not a slip and fall. That's a swan dive with a full pike, my friend.
AleXa is a K-pop Idol and winner of America Song Contest 2022 (raised in Oklahoma and a US citizen). AleXa's part was filmed in South Korea where she was when the video was being created. AleXa won with her song Wonderland ... if you decide to watch her videos 3 of them are tied in together "Bomb" " Do or Die" and "Revolution" on her channel they have both the music videos and the performance(dance) videos
Thanks! 😁
Really shouldn't overlook "Villain", between Do Or Die and Revolution. It adds to the lore as well, and demonstrates AleXa-the-character's search for knowledge.
@@xheralt officially Villain is not part of the Trilogy of videos but it is in the same theme

Just rewatched your reaction and remembered that I forgot to tell you something. That made sense, right?
AleXa reached out to Voiceplay requesting to do a collaboration with them. It wasn't easy because she was in South Korea. They did everything on a green screen, she sent them her part, Layne and Eli worked their magic and ta da!! AleXa is right there.
Bet that would work for someone named Jennifer in the UK, yeah?
😱😱😱😱 right! Let me see what I can do…
You do such a great job analyzing these. I knew you’d have a ton to talk about with this one. Geoff’s ascending solo…..mind blown. Highest note Geoff hits is that D5, and then bottoms at A0 on the ending descending growl. 🤯 A0 to D5. Unbelievable.
😱🤯
@@JenniferGlatzhofer geoff range is A0 - A5 5 octaves
What I found astonishing is that they filmed the video with Alexa being in Korea while the guys were in Florida. She filmed her part, had her crew do the dance and the guys learned their choreography from her crew.
So good!
When Voiceplay first came out with with this my mind got kind of melted because of all the things they have cramped in to this arrangement, but I still loved every second of it 🤯😍
Your reaction to both Geoff's low and high notes was absolutely perfect ❤️ I think a lot of people got thrown for a loop at that high note, I sure did 😊
Hahha right?! So impressive!
Just breathe girl oxygen is important. I catch myself holding my breath when watching VoicePlay. lol
I really enjoyed your detailed discussion of the notes and chords and how much you appreciated everyone.
Thank you 😁
Great reaction. I love Voiceplay & Geoff solo whatever they do but when they go epic wow!! They showed us a behind the scenes of Alexa doing the dancing with her team looking awesome & then our boys attempting it looking as they said not so awesome but it came together lol. Everyone's just always so fantastic.
Hahah love that!
Do you know where I can see that?
@@cassietessier5594 it’s on their Patreon
@@carolfranklin Ah. Thank you 😊
This is a great cover! What makes it even more amazing is that AleXa recorded her part remotely (she was in South Korea). Her part is so well edited in you can't tell she wasn't actually with them at the time it was recorded. Great reaction as usual Jen! Obvious you really, really enjoyed yourself immensely. It is a fun song cover of theirs to watch.
Oh wow 😱😱amazing! Thank you!
Voiceplay's combo of astonishing vocals, mesmerizing arrangements, canny guest spots, and theatrical presentation puts them, imho, snugly in the penthouse of The Harmony Towers. Thx for guiding us through it, Jenn. Congratulations on reaching 50k, a well-deserved milestone. Onward, to 100,000 and beyond!
Thank you!!! 😁
hi, i see you are enjoy with this prestation of VOIVEPLAY. I appreciated when you show we a detail with your experience.
Geoffs F1 on his longer solo was chest voice not subharmonics👀. And yes he hit a D5 afterwards!! He’s a freak
😱😱
Jennifer, you are a great reactor. You are informative, you bring a lot of emotion, and none of it feels forced or fake. You deserve your success. Congratulations on reaching 50,000+ subscribers. Thanks for the great the videos.
Thank you so much 😁
Never watched her before but I got here and to voiceplay because of Alexa. Im a fan of both now. Will have to watch more!
@@JenniferGlatzhofer congratulations to a great reactor. You have earned it well. Please do a reaction video of Geoff Castellucci's new cover song " Way Down " . He goes way way down & even has some good Elvis moves too.
1) Congrats on the 50K!! That’s awesome!!
2) Geoff said in live chat that he wished there were a Picardy Third at the end. I love the way it currently ends, but I always hear that in my head as well-it would have sounded great!
3) You did a whole lot better talking about this during a first watch than I would’ve. I was all 😳🤯😵💫 “buh…” for a bit. SO much going on.
4) I’ve been a little frustrated when it comes to Cesar. We haven’t really gotten more than a short phrase or two of him singing full voice or belting, we’re only starting to get a clue as to his range (and I have NO idea what the low end is, although there’ve been a few moments in harmonies when I think he’s getting pretty low in his baritone range). I just keep feeling like we’re only scratching the surface with him. That said, on the Voiceplay Minis channel (there’s one of those!) there are some where he takes the lead-Patsy Cline’s Crazy is one, and that guy can really slay a torch song (a bit more full voice there as well, but I still feel like he’s holding back a bit)! Well worth checking out.
Great reaction as always, Jennifer!! Congrats again on the 50k!! Do you ever do live events? If so I’ve missed them.
Yes, I’ve checked out their minis channel - very good!! Hope we hear more 😁 and i’m hopefully going to do a live soon!
I love the moment you paused and said you wanted to talk but there was so much happening....my only thought was....just wait, there's MORE! They just keep adding complexity and Interest and HOLY WHOA moments. Gotta listen soooooo many times to catch all the awesomeness
Hahah I knoooww! 😂
Congratulations on the 50k
Love watching your reactions and your brake down of the vocals and how blown away by voice plays performance thank you for taking the time to entertain us
Thanks for watching! 😊
15:42 If you want to see choreo (and have a bit of fun) watch Voiceplay and Boy Bands in 5 Minutes. They show their dancing chops (or lack there of) but all in good fun.
And yes voiceplay are the best acapella group out there. No one does it like them. Great analysis as always and congrats with 50k. Insightful and fun ..hmm like voiceplay.😉😉
Wow! You're really improving on your low notes! You have a firm grasp on your title to "Queen of facial expressions". Also, some of the cutest whining I've ever heard. You made a good day turn into a great day. So much fun with a great analysis and reaction. Blessings and have a great day!
Ahahah yay!! I’m telling you, I’ve just got to keep trying haha! 😁
I dont know if you watched it yet. But one of my favorite songs they do is an old video. The phantom of the opera.
Ps. Love the videos really enjoy
Thank you so very much for balancing your volume with the video to which you are reacting. I can wear headphones without your vocal blasting my ears while trying to hear VoicePlays singing. 50K subscribers are well deserved.
These guys are gods in their own ways fr
There's just SO much in this song. I had to pause eleventy times.
I know right?!?
I gave up saying "this is their best". It is such a blast watching them and as much fun watching you react. Great analysis and congratulations on reaching 50K. Onward and upward :-)
I know right!! Keep making great covers and we will watch!
Loved your reaction to this one! If you loved them doing choreography, you need to watch their Boybands in 5 minutes video. It’s fantastic!
Oooh yes!
13:16
"Was that all Geoff?"
Yes. 😂
Geoff has a FIVE octave range. Enjoy. ;)
Layne is awesome. SO creative with his sounds! And I'm always a sucker for Eli's rasp. I still want them to give Cesar a part that he can just belt and let loose with his pipes! LOL
VP are the theater kids of the acapella world, and it's what I love about them. They are SO good at it!
Oh they are so goooood!! 😁
Nobody does theatrical acapella better than Voice Play.
Congrats on 50k. This kind of reaction is why I'm here... Great breakdown, discussion of technique, and some fangirling as well. Can't wait for the next one. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you so much!
I listened to VP's arrangement of Enemy maybe 50 times. Every time it comes up on my suggestions, I give it another listen. I am completely blown away by this arrangement and execution. VP's stuff is always great. This is over the top!
geoff's F#1 at his solo was done using chest voice
You've mastered Layne, now you've set your sites on Geoff........
Love Voiceolay and your reactions. Congrats on 50K!
Thank you!!
Congrats kiddo. Well deserved. You never fail to entertain and educate. You are the best chuckler(not a word) as well as the woman of a thousand faces. Can't help but chuckle along. Love how you pronounce what(wot) and been(bean). Here's to 100,000.
Hahah thank you!!
They gave that look to her.
She was in South Korea filming this on green screen.
I'm not shocked - you do a good reaction AND commentary. Congratulations and well-deserved, my lady.
Great reaction! I have many of those same reactions! These guys never cease to amaze me!
Love, love, love your insightful reactions, Jennifer!! Congratulations on reaching 50K subscribers. Of all the people doing reactions videos out there, you are the best.
Ah thanks so much!
it is so fun watching you react the expressions you make and the attempts to do Jeff's voice are awesome and very funny to watch thank you for making me smile.
I've been watching these on and off and I love how you really talk about the techniques and notes they sing. Much more than other react channels! Subscribed!
You're correct in that it is Layne make that disturbing-sounding low note (I couldn't think of a better adjective). He's using a technique called ingress singing; meaning he's actually singing that note while inhaling as opposed to exhaling. It's a technique used by a lot of beatboxers to get arguably some of the lowest notes ever produced by a human voice. It's rather difficult to be able to do it the way Layne is in this cover, but if you want an idea on how to get started - think snorting like a pig.
Wow! So cool - thanks!
Thank You!!! I was so looking forward to your analysis and reaction. You continually amaze me - the quality and perceptiveness of your comments. You are able to hear things (and explain what they are) that I miss. Additionally - your enthusiasm and joy of music is very evident. Congrats on making it to 50K subs - I look forward to the next milestone!
Thank you! 😁
This is such a great cover. They never fail to impress me. Congratulations on reaching 50,000 subscribers.
Great vid. I'm not a singer, but I certainly learn about singing by watching your videos.
OK you're cool points just went up.. I think you're probably the only reaction to this video that I've seen so far that knew That arcane existed. Everyone else just referenced the video game but wasn't quite sure. Lol they owned this song. It always amazes me how they take a song and just completely rewrite its DNA.. And make it their own. Geoffs low notes and base witch are impressive enough, to his sustained higher register. Laynes superb vocal percussion and sound effects paving the road to let Cesar alix and elie dazzle use with a meriod of sensory overload. You really loose track of who to focus on at any given point. And they just keep getting better. It's absolutely nuts. Can't wait to see what they do next
Ah it’s so great!! And yes, so much going on!
You’re so fun to watch! Congrats on 50k! Well deserved!
Thanks 😄
Jeff’s range is crazy! You really ought to find one of his solo videos.
Congrats on the 50k milestone! I loved your glee reacting to these performances and your smile is contagious ☺️ I appreciate having you as a vocal guide for this song because, as you mentioned, the video is so content rich that I as a non singer I would have been bewildered without you. Thanks!
Ah thank you!! 😁
You can always borrow Mortius' "It just low," for Geoff's low notes.
Then there's Layne's "Dubstep Boar Snorts," this cover is just too much good stuff!
Thanks for reacting
Absolutely love your thirst for music and your amazing energy…thank you very much for all your knowledge, keep doing this! look forward to the next one!
Thank you 😁
I love the "Arcane" anime, too! My 23 yr old daughter and her fiance introduced me to it, and (even though at 64 I'm way too old -- according to some) I was immediately sucked in to the storyline. Aside from their fantabulous singing and theatrics, VoicePlay also did an amazing job of recreating the tone and feeling of the anime series.
I am pretty sure AleXa is more known for her ability to dance and sing at the same time, and is very good at it. She certainly brought a fun dynamic to VoicePlay that for sure! Also I heard that she was not there for the recording, so it was all put together virtually.
You are so fun to watch. Not only do you know what your talking about....I guess cause I sure don't, but your reactions are so genuine and light hearted and happy it is a lift up to see you impressed by all these different artist. Subscribed and I look forward to seeing your shocked expressions and beautiful smile.
Congrats to your 50k! I allways love your reactions and I've been waiting for this one.
Thank you!
LOVED! And big congrats to you!
Thanks 😁
Well done on the 50K Jennifer, just thought I'd throw in a comment on Layne's repertoire of sounds, I think he drops into an Inwards Bass that made the growling sound.... very cool by the way. All the bests on your way to 100K!
Coool!! Thank you 😁
Congratulations on reaching 50K, Glatzy -- well deserved! Cheers to another 50K to come. Although he didn't figure as prominently in this video, some of your facial expressions clearly show you still have gas (Geoff adoration syndrome), LOL. Have you mistakenly called Jacob Geoff yet? (I'm teasing, of course). Love the analysis, congrats again on your great achievement!
She is unironically on the verge of finding the subharmonic in her voice. She is starting to sound like me when I first started learning
😱😱oh damn
Don’t be shocked by reaching 50k. You are such a delight and your numbers will continue to grow!
Gongrats on 50K Jenn!! It's always so rewarding to see someone excelling at doing something they love. You continue to be a joy to watch! Sending love and appreciation from MN, USA!
Thank You!!
Geoff's solo goes down to an F#1 in chest and then a D5!!
I wasn't sure about this one when I went to click it because I'm not an Imagine Dragons fan (quite the opposite). But they killed it and it made me so happy that someone could turn a song I'm not a fan of into something I want on my playlist and love to listen to on my way to work. They have such amazing talent and I'm so glad we are able to witness this.
Grats on 50k!! Enjoyed the reaction/analysis! It was so fun. Layne does a rap section in I Knew You Were Trouble. You should watch it. It's amazing how articulate he is.
Thank you!!! 😁
Love watching you get gobsmacked, Jennifer. Even without any clue what this song was from or about, I absolutely loved it. It's way out of my normal purvue, but - it's Voiceplay. 'Nough said!
Happy 50k!
Exactly hahah! Thank you 😁
I always love how raw the reaction
Congrats on 50K/ Your channel is going to continue to grow. Looking forward to celebrating 100K soon.
Thank you 😁
Congrats on 50K
Hi Jennifer.
Great reaction.
I love watching your reactions. I also love your accent. Was wondering where you're from. I'm in Memphis Tennessee.
Take care And keep up the good work.
Congrats on the 50k
Geoff has a very massive range too. Around the youtube there's a video of him hitting the high note in "Grace Kelly" from Mika.
Great reaction voice play gets it again
Happy 50k Jenn! Great reaction/analysis on a complicated piece.
Congrats on 50k, Jenn!! On to a million! And absolutely loved the reaction.
Thank you!
Congrats to your 50k, you really deserve all of us! I always look so much forward to your VoicePlay reactions, and your own covers are really good too! I enjoyed this analysis/reaction a lot, thanks for all your info and for your joy and interest in what's happening in the videos you watch! I'm so glad that you're always so willing to try everything yourself, it's so inspiring! :-)
Ah thank you so much 🥰 I do try!
Congratulations on 50k!
If you liked the choreography they did here, you really need to watch Boy Bands Medley. It was a special thank-you to fans for reaching a Patreon milestone. Took them months to pull together the arrangement, costumes, and choreography. Has cameo appearances by all four spouses and the guys' dear friend Rek Dunn.
AleXa's team sent much more complex choreo for this one, and the guys tried, really tried, to get it but ended up paring it way down. With all they bring to a song, I'm okay with them not being able to dance like a 25-year-old K-Pop star. 😀
Ah I should!! So cool!
congratulations ! Love your reaction. AleXa was wonderful as Jink both in body language, face and of course voice. They are all fabulous but perhaps because his is the newest Caesar keeps surprising me. Have you listened to the newest minis? I love him in Crazy.
Yes!!! Love their minis channel!!
I was totally waiting for this!! Loved it. Love watching your reactions, especially to voiceplay...Congrats on your 50k 👏 👏 🤗
Thank you 🙌🏼
great analysis as always, greetings from Turkey
Thank you 😁
Congrats on your 50,000 subscribers Jenn. Another great reaction vid.
Thanks!
Hello Jennifer, I'm sorry it took me so long to find you and though i subscribed a few months ago, congratulations on reaching 50K subscribers, well earned!
Love the analysis, hope you will do more voiceplay content as they come! By the way at 13:50-ish when you talk about the drop in Geoff's voice, that was actually chest and not subharmonics. Geoff can bring the timbres fairly close and really hard to distinguish, but if the tone sounds darkened, it is chest. On the other hand, if you can distinctly hear the pops and sounds kinda artificial then it's subs. His chest tone below A1 is (almost) always really dark and.. "meaty", for lack of a better word.
a good example would be listening to the difference between his f#1 when he sings the first "enemy", which is a sub and the second one, which is chest. Side by side, there is a stark distinction in tone quality, since you cannot really darken the tone when using subs.
Thank you!! 😁
Congrats on the 50K Subs. Well deserved.
Thank you 😁
Please never stop trying to play Geoffs parts. I LOVE hearing you try so much 🤣 #Roadto100K
😂😂 I will ALWAYS try
Uh, first! Brazil here! I love you, Jen!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Check out Geoff's new solo in The Rains of Castamere. All I have to say is WOW.
Loved this breakdown! And congrats on 50k!!! 🎊🥳
Arcane was such a good show! And Voiceplay obviously killed the cover🤷🏽♂️
Yes and YES!
Congrats on 50,000 subs! Your reaction to Diana Ankudinova received one of your most watched videos. Please check in to see Diana's progress and react to her recent video "Can't help falling in love" performed in the minor key! Absolutely epic!
Congrats again to 50k, Jennifer. Still less than you really deserve.
Ah thank you 😊
Jen is REAALLY gettin pretty good at hittin dem bass notes🤣 ,🎩s off chere! Beware its addictive
Home Free released a new song, The Driver. It is a beautiful song with very beautiful harmonies. You will love it!
It's interesting -- I didn't really like it that much on first listen (not familiar with the song at all), but I've come to love it. It's better than the original, in my opinion.
Congratulations on the 50K!
Thank you
This was a really interesting break down of all the different parts Layne's beat boxing seemed to really stand out in this to me.
For fun you should react to Voiceplay's cover of Cheerleader. It's a hoot and still showcases all their vocal talents.

Geoff Castellucci released a new video yesterday morning.
The Rains of Castamere from Game to Thrones.
He portrays the Lannister men.
His best by far.
Layne is next level on this one. And Geoff.....well, he's being Geoff ridiculous
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome weekend 😀
I am indeed! And to you!
