I’m choosing exactly between these 2 in the next 2 weeks and can’t even play them in the same store. I’m really torn between the two, I had settled on the CA99 3 years ago, which got replaced by the 901, but had never tried a Roland. Tried the LX6 and LX9 a month ago, and fell in love, but I haven’t played a Kawai in 3 years. Also the Kawai is 2000$ cheaper here in Canada. Hopefully my trip to Montreal where I’ll try them both in the same day will help me decide. I’m kinda scared by the people reporting the Kawai action becoming noisy. Anyways, if anyone has anything to chime in to help me decide, don’t hesitate!
I would have to play them both. Kawai and Roland both are known for their keyboards although some of the last vintage Kawai had some complaints. Based on the sound quality I would pick the CA901, just from this video. Personal preference, first impression, I'm not familiar with either piano.
I have Roland Lx9. I was split between Roland lx and kawai Novus Nv5s. The reason I went with Roland is, it came with 10 years of warranty and was £1000 cheaper here in UK. Kawai Ca901 seems great piano. I would love to have it in my house.
It´s funny we are hearing about the pianos in the beginning and I am looking at the LX-6 😄 I get it was probably to make easier to produce the video for all pianos in one take and then use the original review play thru.
two things that struck me wrong are : "Haptic Feedback, and "Added Reality" I haven't played the Roland, I'd like to. I have played the Kawai, and I think it has the best feel and sound in the industry.
hey ted, im like the Kawai CA 901 im always interested to know, how you think is the noise of the Keys of the GF3? and you feel any issues bcs in the past Kawai had quality problems. thank you

Thank you Ted for the comparison, both sounded phenomenal. I would give a slight edge to the Roland but two wonderful sounding pianos.
Great video. You do good reviews.
Can you also compare the Yamaha clp-885 to these pianos? I would be very curious about that
If you are close to a Yamaha dealer, I would highly recommend the CLP885!!

The Casio GP310/GP510 is a hybrid hammer-action piano.

Come on - why didn't you dust the stabilization board in the front before the video. It's filthy!
