This is part 4 of 4 videos of me fishing the same pine relict stream in winter, spring, summer, and now FALL. Will the same trout be in the same holes? How will the stream have changed? Will the rock walls have changed? Come along and see this amazing driftless stream!
This fall day was seasonably warm! 70 degrees, so I had to wet wade! The day started off with a bang and didn't slow down one bit! Enjoy this great Wisconsin pine relict creek!
What is a pine relict? Pine relicts are southern Wisconsin pine forests that have persisted since the last glacier receded some 12,000 years ago when a cooler climate was favorable for the growth of pine forests. As the climate warmed prairie and oak woodlands replaced the pine and today, remnant pine forests remain only on steep slopes and rocky cliffs in the Driftless Area. This definition was taken from the Wisconsin DNR website.
This particular stream is super scenic and beautiful, not to mention full of brown trout!

Jared, I enjoyed seeing the “fourth season.” Looks like you have a favorite spot for Wisconsin browns. Well done!

Thank you Gary for your dedication to my channel and to all other tenkara channels! We all appreciate your comments! And yes, it's a phenomenal stream! I'll have to take you there sometime!

I assume this was with the standard action sections. Have you tried the soft action replacements? If so, thoughts?

Yes this is the regular Mizuchi. I have not fished the soft sections, I hear good things though. Thanks for watching Don!

Thanks Jared for another wonderful video. What strong feisty browns! Lovely country. I’m hoping the Pecos River will be sorta ice free by mid March. This video makes me itch to fish.

Thanks Jon! I hope you are able to get out and catch some trout on the Pecos!

Jared great stuff man. I am in search of my first tenkara rod what length or company do you recommend . I will
    Be targeting smal to
Medium size creeks and rivers (Pennsylvania area)

That’s a tough question! The Mizuchi is great for small to medium streams imo. It has good backbone to handle potential bigger fish. But DragonTail Mizuchi, TAO Badaxe, and Tanuki Tenkara 375 are all some of my favorites and are all great! I have all of my affiliated links in the description if you want to order one! 😁 I think you will be hooked!

For me, whether or not I catch trout, the joy is being out on a lovely river. Usually alone.

Great video Jared. I love my Mizuchi and fished it yesterday and it, as always, didn’t disappoint. Crazy how I have much, much more expensive rods in the arsenal and yet still love it. I have started researching flights to La Crosse in hopes of getting out to see you guys in WI.

When I fish WI driftless, I fly into Chicago and rent a car. La Crosse can be an expensive and time-consuming connection.
