    Can't we use the canon app for capturing duration ?

      If you have a camera that can connect to the app then go for it.

    I have the canon 2000d, but I can’t change the aperture when I am going to take a picture, only when I focus the lens. Any clue as to why?

    • @mattjohnsonphoto
      @mattjohnsonphoto  4 года назад

      What lens are you using? If you're using an old lens the camera won't be able to change the aperture.

    • @jessicarojasvargas9655

      @@mattjohnsonphoto well the lens came with the camera but I’m not sure what kind of lens it is

      Watch what I do right at the 1:11 mark on the video

    • @jessicarojasvargas9655
      @jessicarojasvargas9655 4 года назад

      @@mattjohnsonphoto yeah I actually did that, when I put the lens all the way to the left to focus the lens I can change the aperture but when I go to take a picture it comes out as 00 and says no lens is attached. I can only change it if I use the app on my phone but for that I need wifi so I can’t always use it

    So, does the hold on the Shutter Speed help with bringing out the light painting? I'm still trying to understand how to do it. Hold down the shutter speed 'draw' with light and release to get a light painting?
