    3 extra tips - 1 - ISO Auto works better cause when the apperture is not enough it will know and go up just enough to solve the exposure problem and whenever it checks the apperture is enough it goes down, so you only get as grainny pics as it's needed and never above that, I call it the Policeman cause it's constantly assuring effeciency / 2 - You did not suggested exactly what fast speed to use, I would recommend around 1/2000, more would be great (1/3200) but that can pull up the ISO too much / 3 - To avoid big deviations meetering area should not be on dot, but given sometimes the big difference in light from subject to background, centre weighted meetering shall be better than full matrix/evaluative, cheers and keep up the excellent work

    I'm just about to get started in sports photography. This video is gold for beginners. I was on the fence about which camera to buy, as well. Thanks to this video the settings in Nikon make more sense to me. I no know that. Thank you!

    Every video that you produce is easy to follow + understand - I now never follow anyone else's video's because you are the master Paul.
    After watching your video(s), I finally got around to taking moving subjects with your sugested camera settings on my Nikon D5000.
    Virtually every shot that I took (141) turned out almost perfect with very little editing in PS.
    Keep-up the good work Paul.

    Great video. The same method I tried for capturing birds. Really happy that I did correct one that you described.
    Initialy I was manual mode. But very hard to handle.
    Later I changed ISO settings to Auto ISO. Just keep adjusting my shutter only.

    I've shot sports photos for Lifetouch at high schools for years and I found shooting in TV setting all the time to be the easiest way to photograph the action.

    I think you Rock, I just bought a Canon rebel T7 and had no idea how to use it, I had looked at other videos and they talk so fast and they move their fingers in the camera so fast I will start keeping up with them. You make this look easy in your comfortable in your reach out to your customer and you know how to show the camera and you are patient you’re my kind of teacher I liked your style. Great work!     Since I upgraded my camera to that of one that is a point & shoot with capabilities of a DSLR, I can better quality sports photos.
    I am sports photographer, albeit motor racing. These tips are going to help me with fine tuning the were & vastly improve my photos. I was easily able to apply the Nikon settings on mine.
    If you have any tips on tweaking for motor racing, I certainly would be appreciative.
    Watching these videos is like sitting in a classroom. Very educational.

    Again Paul, another great video... I visited my local auto race track and tried to get pics of race cars on the track... My results were horrible... lol...     Exactly the info i was after Paul, thank you. I know when i use my tripod i turn the IS off when photographing, but do you do the same with a mono pod?

      With a Monopod I would keep the IS turned on as there will be some movement.
