Mike Young should have a subscriber count of at least 150k. This man literally IS cave diving. All the things that people like him and Ed Sorrenson have done we won’t ever hear about because these are people doing what they love and that’s so beautiful, to be able to do what you love, and to be such a capable, useful, technically proficient and professional diver. Guys like this are one in 100.000
Thank you for showcasing the natural beauty of Arkansas! Many people outside the state don't realize how many different stunningly beautiful natural features we have here.
Mike, I wonder about those lines you put down there is so thin, isn't there a good chance they'll snap if a guy in panic grabs it and start pulling his way out? What's the reason you don't use thicker lines? I saw you on Dive Talk, damn your story made me almost gasp for air sitting comfortably on my couch.
@@mikeyoung8968 Oh yes, since a wrote my question 15 hours ago I have binge watched a bunch of videos and I heard you mentioned a thin line that could take 500 lbs. Thanks for the reply, stay safe.
the Native Americans is such a big part of the history that it needs to be shown none of the divers claim to be Native American. as a matter of fact we respect the history to the point everything was authorised by the tribes.
I think he is referring to the shot of men dancing in the first minute? Its unclear if they are tribal people or guests who were invited to participate. Also, because of how history went, many of the surviving native descendents - people legitimately on tribal rolls- have mixed genetics. Unlike the history of oppression of people brought from Africa, who were segregated and subjected to one-drop rule, the natives were mostly outright killed, also children were taken from them to be assimilated and the government made it difficult to be legally designated American Indian, almost like the opposite of 1 drop rule. The difference is because they wanted to use African Americans for free labor so it was in their interest to keep the AfAm population both segregated and populous by constructing one drop and creating barriers to assimilation so there are more people counted as AfricanAm/black to be exploited. Whereas with the American Indians they wanted the native's land/resources so they wanted them to exist lityle as possible...the government's interest was to construct ways for there to be fewer people counted as Amerindian/Native. There are land/resource rights that come with being a tribe member in certain areas. To this day these respective histories effect the identity politics of different minorities in different ways. If you appear caucasian and find out later you have an African American grandparent it's about owning it and revealing how race isnt a cut and dry one-drop thing and largely was constructed as a caste system. If you find out your grandma was native and you share that, unless you have significant tribal ties, many people of all kinds will think you are bullshitting some self delusion fantasy or trying to get casino stock....Also you can be full native looking but if it's from different tribes you may not have legal status. Alot of ppl who are 1/4 or 1//2 native and raised in native tribal community with lineage of descent documented.
Someone who has lighter skin tone doesn't just get ruled out as being white. Talk about actual racist. Your comment has no purpose aside from being one causing an eye roll
@@fovosprodromus5020 you obviously missed the fact I was being Facetious. I'm far from racist. I am white as snow, I live in Mexico and I'm married to a Mexican citizen. But yeah I'm racist.
Very fascinating stuff! Started at Mr Ballens channel, which led to dive talk, and now I'm here making my way through your videos (oldest to newest).
