Michael Penix is by far the best PURE QB in the Draft.
What would be an impure QB?
He blew out both knees dawg.........
Yet when he went against a pro type defense he faltered. He didn't have his worst game against Michigan by accident.
2 torn ACLs and 2 torn shoulder and not even an NFL hit yet? Hard pass...
@@freeclimb5487CJ stroud struggled against them for his entire OSU tenure and hes looking pretty damn good right now. What QB looked good against Michigan last year? This narrative is lazy and ignorant
This aged well
This helped get the job done
My first thought also
The fact that penix got picked first
Means nothing, what was Brady picked?
Penix has the best 2023 film of any qb other than Jayden.
And when he played a top defense he looked like trash. I can guarantee pennix will not succeed in the nfl
Kurt knows a golden arm when he sees one.
its the rest of the body that the problem. 2 torn ACL and 2 torn shoulders in college?! he aint built tough enough
@@srobeck77 Tell that to the Ducks.
@@stevenperry9762 No way. Very glad they took him. Comedy gold right there. Im just super happy its not my team that just signed a Cousins to a guaranteed monster contract and then drafted the most injury prone in the draft as backup. You cant even make this stuff up....
I'm a brand new Lions fan, and I'm pretty sure that take is going to age like Truth Social shares. He is tougher than any of the kids who went off the board before him.
@@stevenperry9762 apparently not tough enough to avoid 4 major surgeries before 1 nfl game. Thats like the total opposite of tough.
Kurt i love your opinion! great thought process. You guys are the best duo when it comes to talking football
Penix is top three if it wasn't for the injuries.
Kurt nailed it.
Penix IS THAT GUY!!
I am 1000% with you Kurt. Penix has proven he can put the team on his back. McCarthy has proven he’s a good passenger.
If only these two had played head to head in college so we could have some way to determine who was the better quarterback
Penix looked like garbage against Michigan, I like Warner I disagree
@@jasonsudeikis1915mccarthy’s first throw against Alabama was a pick. I think everyone knows who is better
@@jzamo1990 Lol it literally wasn’t
Penix’s knees are one NFL hit away from turning into RG3.
Carry my team? Hmmm. Tell me, when did Drake Maye do that? Because his team finished 8-5, same record as when Sam Howell was QB at UNC. Is Drake Maye no better than Sam Howell? What is Drake Maye's signature victory at UNC? They lost twice to NC State. The only thing I've ever heard about him is he played well in the Holiday Bowl in 2022 against Oregon, a game they lost. A meaningless bowl game they lost. So can Drake Maye carry the Giants or the Commanders?
in the last 6 games of 2022 and 2023 UNC is a collective 4 and 8
back to back years losing to GA tech and NC State
Losing at home to Virgina with CFP hopes on the line (sigh)
Only win in the last 5 weeks was against Campbell
Film matches that with insane great play one snap then mind numbing play miss or bad decision few plays later
Logic tells me "hey he is only 20"... SO if you draft him you are drafting hoping that stuff goes away. And that is a leap
Rewatch Daniel Jones tape from college and it is sneaky similar.
How about the pace Penix threw with a pro-style defense in his face? He barely walked off the field. Thank you ATL.
Go Vikes and always,
Go Blue!
Your guy not even allowed to throw in a pro style offense
I think KOC saw something in JJ plus Penix was gone by the 10th pick. The Vikings gave up less and got Dallas Turner at 17, which they also moved up.
Rich is dying hearing this
Rich knows what Kurt doesn't.
@@freeclimb5487 hahaha funniest line so far
Well look what we have here 😉
CJ was clear even in college to me
The JJ talk makes good content for podcast, debate shows, But let’s be real if Will Levis fell to the 2nd round what chance does JJ have.
The JJ doubter 🚂 ticket holders are about to lose their 💩. 😆
😆
If he was playing for a team like Oregon and played the same way, would we be talking about him?
Aged well
not buying what kurt is selling off his hi-vee racks.
Warner is correct however CJ did have some flashes of superstar traits that could translate to NFL, JJ didn’t exhibit those traits. He was a really good QB on a great team but wasn’t a great QB
Hard to do it ‘week after week after week’ if you get injured constantly.
Speak on it Kurt!
Atlanta Falcons fucked up listening to this right before the draft. 😂
😂😂😂
Penix is garbage
Some people just aren't durable enough to play a contact sport. Penix is a reach in the 1st
What is all this " I haven't seen it" comments about McCarthy.
The dude has been lightning in a bottle since his freshman year.
OSU can't touch Michigan while this guy is on the field.
3rd down and long...JJ makes a play.
Offense is struggling...JJ makes a big run.
He is the reason that game with TCU was even close.
Dude is 25-1 as a starter, 3x Big Ten Champ and undefeated National Champ beating 4 top ten teams in the last few months.
My goodness, Kurt, watch a few games
He did and the guy was basically trash. He was inconsistent, inaccurate and couldn’t throw the ball with touch. If you watch the all 22 he was an average college QB and didn’t have any high end tools.
He has maybe you should watch a few of his breakdowns. McCarthy is a passenger. Until he proves he can drive the car that’s all he’ll be.
How many third down and longs did he make though?
McCarthy wasn't asked to do as much in Harbaugh run heavy offence.
@@dnice4145 that’s a silly argument. So bc he didn’t do it, that’s proof he can? Watch a full game cut up of his passes. Dude is just inaccurate, not a great processor and doesn’t have any high end skill. Him throwing was a worse option than running the ball w a guy who will be drafted on Saturday. And the “they leaned on him when it counted” is horse crap. Take a look at how important he was in the national championship, against Ohio state or over time against Alabama? They didn’t even let him throw the ball.
Sensical Giants fans think the same.
This is all coming from bias against michigan. Jesus wept kurt, JJ put the team on his back against maryland and ohio state and won with an injured knee.
What kills me is that they keep saying JJ doesn't have the volume of throws but every time he HAD to make a play by throwing he made it. This is actually more impressive than being in a rhythm all game long then making crucial throws. I just don't get this type of analysis, seems short sighted and lazy.
Kurt Warner has Kurt Warner opportunities you have a person that's been through bad years in college and he knows he's better than that other person arm strength mobile winning if you flip those quarterbacks on the same teams you wouldn't get the same results
why is this a run on sentence like how someone who is 5 years old would write down things without taking a breath it just doesnt seem very intelligent and I dunno why you did it like this if im being honest which i am and another thing id like to point out is that people can make opinions but sometimes they are wrong but you can still respect them if the reasons were well thought out even when they end up being wrong
Jj can carry any team. You don’t need to see jack. He can show off against any team.
To end the JJ debate. Didnt Harbaugh let Andrew Luck do his thing? I'm just saying. JJ is going to be a mega bust
Andrew Luck was pretty damn good. Injuries derailed his career.
@@Dtr1993melee my point exactly he let Andrew Luck cook. JJ had training wheels the entire time
@@mynumberoneguy2125 Luck was awesome besides injuries. Very high chance the same will be said of Penix will 2 torn ACL and 2 torn shoulders and he hasnt even had an NFL hit yet (newsflash, they dont hit softer in the NFL)
@@srobeck77 Why do idiots gleam the information from a comment ? What I said was if Harbaugh coached Luck and JJ. Why did he limit JJ so much? Let's see if he can beat out a recycled journeyman bust in Sam Darnold
Look how well he did against a good defense Michigan he was not good....he did not play against good defenses until Michigan.....he had one of the best receiving cores in the country and the best offensive lines ....and is injury prone he will not be a good NFL quarterback I would bet JJ will be way better .....
Exactly
The JJ hype 🚂 ticket holders are about to lose their 💩. 😆
The JJ doubter 🚂 ticket holders are about to lose their 💩. 😆
They might overdraft.
Kurt wasn't wrong.
did your crystal ball of the future tell you this? other its just an opinion dude
He doesn’t want to get canceled so he can’t pick JJ up
Sounds about white in television
No, its just that Penix is a much much much better qb than JJ. JJ shouldnt have even been a top 10 pick
@@notaa6992 he looked like garbage in the national championship game, Michigan played better competition than Washington
@@markhall6306 Mcarthy played even worse than Penix in the championship game, so if Penix was garbage, then idk what Mcarthy was
@@notaa6992 oh hell no he lost the game JJ is a winner plus he’s 3 years younger than Penix and Penix injury prone
@@markhall6306 He won the game because he was on a much better team, he got carried hard by his team, he played awfully against Michigan
