    Most carnivores no longer sunburn. 88, 10 months carnivore to fight cancer with Tippens protocol - and this summer is the first of my life of never any sunburn. Started lying out under blazing sun for 25 minutes a day (for anti-cancer benefits) and got a healthy looking tan with zero burn. A new carnivore - old friend - was out in midday sun for four hours. Same thing, nice color, zero burn.👌💖

      Might have more clues after PCP's consult in a few days. Will lay out all my false starts, new info that I'm trying out and unfortunate discovery - IE: Advanced cancer may GROW from fasting-generated autophagy, whereas early cancers are stopped by fasting's autophagy. Now concerned my OMAD eating might be spurring metastasis. I hope for guidance if not too late, period. Know that physical exercise (high arm swinging while walking, against lymphedema's arm swelling) does reduce swelling. But is it irrelevant at the point of advancing lymphedema? Don't know. How late is too late? Looking to create a miracle here. My willpower is flagging re the walking. Am so physically weak since a spleen attack and the encroaching lymphedema. 🙄😔🙏💖

      First off. You have made significant lifestyle modifications to help yourself get better. Please try not to shame yourself. NO MATTER what intervention we make, there is a level of risk vs benefit. Fasting is a powerful autophagy activator yes. But it’s going to radically lower cancer growing insulin, IGF-1, glucose and glutamine! I am not God and do not know for sure, but I would bet that is a NET POSITIVE. You are doing what 95+% people are likely not willing to do. I am proud of you no matter what the next results show.

      Sunscreen blocks production. Also diet can affect Vit D production. And what many do not know--its clinically proven-- if you shower after sun exposure (even without sunscreen) it will lower the amount of Vitamin D your body has just made. See studies referenced by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine--Dr Wes Youngberg speaks about this in his Diabetes Undone training videos.

      I cannot agree with much of what you said. Vitamin D does not get converted to oxalates. It can increase intestinal absorption of calcium and oxalates yes. But if your diet is limited in oxalates that should not be a problem. I would not limit my sun or vitamin D intake based on that.
      I can also agree that nothing is within a vacuum. Yes we need minerals such as magnesium. They are critical in their own right for hundreds of chemical reactions.

    I have listened to many of Dr Sefried's presentations and understand the relatively simple idea of starving cancers of glucose with intermittent fasting to promote autophagy. I have also followed the need of also blocking glutamine. What do you mean more specifically when you talk about "pulsing" glutamine inhibition because it is essential to other cells in the immune system. Does this mean cycling intake of vitamin D. Also, how or where would we get 125 hydroxy vitamin D.

      First of all, I am sorry you are in the position you are in. Remember you cannot get well in the same environment in which you got sick first and foremost. There needs to be a complete renovation of the environment, and no stone can be left unturned. Where are you located? I cannot practice medicine on youtube, but you want to your vitamin D to be in a range that conveys the maximum benefit. First, the source of the D needs to be from solar light (UV-B), and likely need to push the level as high as you can get away with without affecting calcium levels. Probably > 100ng/mL, but you will need to check your 25-OHD3 level regularly to know where you are on that scale.

A long vacation into the tropics this winter is likely not 'in the cards' yet. But, a lamp could be my best bet in the short run? I had been relying on supplementation, but understand the inadequacies of that, and my D3 levels hovered around 33 to 36 w/o increasing much beyond my end of summer levels last year. I'm shooting for 60 to 80, so a lamp is likely my next best effort for this winter. I get a great deal of sun in the summer, working outside all day, but my levels did not reflect much increase last summer, so this summer I have greatly further increased sun exposure, and anticipate better results likely, heading into my dark winter months.

    For those with adverse VDR mutation - drop the 25 Hydroxy supplementation, and supplement directly with liquid 1.25 Hydroxy, the active form of Vitamin D. This will be your game changer. Weird for me so many talks on Vit D on the net, still so few doctors mentioning 1.25 supplementation, and which is incredibly mroe effective.

    • @DrCaseyPeavler
      @DrCaseyPeavler  4 месяца назад +4

      Just a friendly reminder. VDR mutations have nothing to do with synthesis. It’s the target tissue or cell that receives the signal via the VDR vitamin D receptor. Vitamin D can be maximally beneficial with normal VDR receptors, but there are many actions that do not require VDR, both classical vitamin D pathway and D3/L3 analogs. Most people who do not have significant renal disease do not need to take calcitriol active vitamin D, in fact it could be harming your potential.

    Somehow I believe this information as I’m battling stage 4 Merkel cell carcinoma now as a young black woman. And I say young black woman because I don’t meet the usual markers for this type of cancer. The markers for this type of cancer is over 50 years old (and the first time I got it I was 41 years old), light to fair skin(I’m biracial African/Mexican), and predominantly white males(black female over here🙋🏾‍♀️). However, one thing I have always dealt with my whole life is constant low iron levels and also dangerously low vitamin D levels (is what I was told by a physician, but no immediate therapy was offered).
    And I’ve always wondered that because I was in a constant state of having those very low levels of vitamins/minerals in my body, has it what has contributed me to getting shingles at 26 years old and now getting metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma which is a very rare aggressive skin cancer. Very interesting to see this research all coming out now. Going to try my best to get my vitamin D levels up there and remain up there in the hopes it helps me beat this cancer. We’ll see. I remain hopeful 🤷🏾‍♀️.

    • @DrCaseyPeavler

      Thank you for your testimony. I would look into mitochondrial haplotype biology. I would guess your mitochondria are built for a topical or sub-tropical environment. Given you have darker skin (more melanin) you NEED much more sun (at stronger UV index) than me for example. And I need more than someone with very white skin.
      Remember you cannot get well in the same environment in which you got sick.
      You would probably do yourself a huge huge favor by getting yourself to the tropics minimum 20N latitude, closer to zero the better, in a rural non-populated area to avoid EMF maximumally to be able to get good sun from sunrise to sunset, minimize excess artificial light and EMF at night for healing sleep. Look into Dr. Jack Kruse and you likely need a like minded alternative/integrative local health professional to guide you on other things.

      @@DrCaseyPeavler Hi and thank you, Dr. Peavler, for that information. Yes, he was slightly overweight when he died at 56, not quite obese. Maybe 40-50 lbs overweight on his 6’ frame. He used to be super duper skinny when he was younger. Most of his life he was quite slim. But at the time of his death (age 56) he had very high blood pressure and they were trying to find a different medications to control it. He had Xanthelasma under his eyes (I never had that), so I’m sure his cholesterol was sky high. Both he and I share the same mother. (She was Swedish, Belgium & French). Our Maternal Grandfather (from Sweden) died at age 33 of a heart attack (he did work in the Chicago Stockyards maybe ate a lot of saturated fatty meat?). We both inherited high LP(a); mine is 70 mg/dL and normal is less than 30 and I am heterozygous for Leiden V mutation. I’m guessing my brother had the same issues so our blood is hypercoaguable. His father was Polish, my father was olive skinned (Fitzpatrick 4). I am Fitzpatrick 3/4. I have light brown/olive skin as my dad did; I tan very easily. In my YT pic, I used super light foundation for effect but people have told me it looks like I have a year-round suntan. In terms of prediabetes, I’m not sure if he had that. I will look at the literature and see what I can find. Second, almost any autoimmune disease increases your risk for cancer, thought to be secondary to chronic inflammatory state. But if these transglutaminase enzymes are constitutively activated, I could see that becoming extremely problematic and another mechanism for setting up a cancer initiation and propagation.

      I am really sorry about your dad. I imagine you have dozens if not more questions. Given cancer is a mitochondrial metabolic disease, and cancer cells require 10-30x more glucose than normal cells and cannot use fat for fuel, this explains why the absolute foundation for metabolic therapy is a calorie restricted ketogenic diet. This whole series is built for folks like you and your dad to learn. I suggest starting from the first video in the series and watching it all the way through.

      Glutamine is a secondary fuel source for cancer. It's in almost everything. It's also non-essential because our body can make it when we need it. Dr. Thomas Seyfried has a protocol called Press Pulse that pulses a U.S. banned drug into the body at certain time, on a certain schedule in a specific dosage. It wipes out glutamine for several hours to starve the cancer from this fuel source. No sugar, no glutamine makes cancer shrink and die off. There's a doctor in Grand Cayman that implements this protocol. Just do an online search and it will pop up.

      Why would it not? If it blocks glucose uptake, utilization, PDK, Glutamine uptake and utilization, fatty acid synthesis, glutathione synthesis and acts to increase oxidative stress in cancer cells, how would it not?

    The opening monologue is a waste of time. My dad died of basal cell from sunburns. Melanoma is not the only danger.
    It is definitely dangerous to get too much sun exposure and no one wants to look like a shriveled prune.

      Thank you for your feedback and your point of view. Although local basal cell carcinoma can be problematic and wrinkles can be annoying and unsightly, I am much more concerned about what is killing off you and my fellow humans at an increasing and unbelievable rate.

      From my understanding, it's mainly because of high carb diets and especially seed oils. The natural sun exposure is not the real problem!

    • @DrCaseyPeavler
      @DrCaseyPeavler  4 месяца назад +6

      Just the NIR alone protects against wrinkles. High end dermatology clinics use red and near infrared to built collagen and reverse skin aging. The sun is roughly 50% near infrared. The population has been systematically brain washed to think the sun is harmful. It’s sad really. And untrue.

    What you experts always get wrong when discussing vitamin D is that your studies use synthetic vitamin D rather than natural vitamin D.
    Almost assuredly you are using vitamin D from lambs wool. How many people have lambs wool in their diet?
    Until you do a study using vitamin D derived from fish oil and compare the results with vitamin D derived from lambs wool you are misleading people.
    Let’s see a study using a natural vitamin D source before you make any more claims?
    Please don’t take this as negative because it’s just common sense constructive criticism.
