Knobless Cylinders
Material:
4 boxes containing 4 sets of cylinders in each of the different types of cylinder blocks.
Each set has a special color:
Red box = Cylinder Block 1
Yellow box = Cylinder Block 2
Green box = Cylinder Block 3
Blue box = Cylinder Block 4

Presentation:
Invite a child
Introduce the activity
Show the child how to hold the box
Have the child carry one box and you bring the other one (Green and Yellow boxes: the most contrasting ones) on the table
Let the child know that we need a mirror, go to a shelf and bring a mirror to the table and sit down
Open the green box
Take out all the cylinders
Close the box and put it on top right corner
Let the child know that you are going to arrange the cylinders in sequence
Take the lowest to the highest
When you done, mix the cylinders
Invite the child to do the activity
When the child done, have the child put the green cylinders in the box
Take out the yellow cylinders
Invite the child to arrange them from the smallest to the largest
Leave the yellow one in the sequence
Take the green one and arrange them in front of the yellow one from the lowest to the highest
Pause and
Invite him to stand up in one end of the table
You hold the mirror at the other end of the table
And invite him to see the mirror and switch places
Sit down
Arrange the green ones behind the yellow ones from the highest one to the lowest one
Invite the child to observe with the mirror
Place the green ones on top of the yellow ones according to their diameter, one by one from left to right
Mix the cylinders
Invite the child to do the activity
When he has done, ask him to put the materials away

Invite the child to work with the green and red boxes in the same manner (arrange, observe and compare)
Invite the child to work with the red and yellow boxes in the same manner
Invite the child to work with three boxes red, green, yellow boxes in the same manner
Let the child know that there is a blue box that he can also work with it, now he can work with all four boxes. (You do not present the blue box)
Have the yellow and green ones arranged
