For me, Bill has got it exactly right. Your soul will tell you which hobby it NEEDS, when your soul NEEDS it and for how long.

My grandma played piano and organ, mom taught herself piano in her 60’s. She’s in heaven now. My name is Vaughnde pronounced Vonda and I’m deaf I’m in Oregon. Monty was my husband. He passed in 2022 complications from Covid. I learned to stitch at 15 took a 30year hiatus and picked backup for a short tie in 2021 then stopped after Monty’s passing. Picked it back up in July with stamped cross stitch then found one of my counted in my craft room. I moved to a smaller apartment last April and I’m not fully unpacked yet but maybe by summer, who knows!

Danielle, as usual another awesome video. Watching you do one of your many hobbies is so calming and relaxing to me. Whatever the hobby is that you are doing you are always focused and thoroughly enjoying that hobby. That’s why you are so successful in all of your hobbies. Hoping your day is a great one. God bless and take care.

My husband wanted to learn piano….he played saxophone in middle school and part of high school. He sang for years in the choir, chorale, small groups and even did solos. He had no problem with music. Me??? I can’t play anything but the radio, can’t carry any in a bucket with two handles, and a piece of sheet music looks like some kind of secret code to me. He began with an electronic keyboard setup…..keyboard, stand, stool, headphones (so only he could hear what he was playing), and everything else that came with it. Did it hook to a computer? I haven’t a clue. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He paid well over $700 for the entire setup…..back in late 2007 or early 2008. 😱🤦🏻‍♀️ He dabbled with the different pianos at church…when no one was around to hear him. 😆 He began lessons with a teacher on his 50th birthday in 2008. (It just happened to fall that way). Eventually he said and kept saying that the “feel” of the keys was dramatically different between the keyboard and a real piano. So Thanksgiving weekend of 2008 we went out of town, just about an hour from home. His ulterior motive? There was a piano store the town we went to, and we went there on Black Friday. By the time we had left we were the owners of a brand new very shiny black piano with bench. I was working at the time so I put a rather large down payment on it …… that was his Christmas gift. I got him a leather covered cushioned bench the following Christmas. He took lessons for 4 years, while working in production full time. He eventually got burned out trying to keep up, so he stopped the lessons. Does he still play at 66 years old and retired? I hear him sort of messing with it every now and then. The piano still shines like the day we purchased it. Yes, he still has the full electronic keyboard setup too. The piano still has the tags hanging from it! He’s kinda quirky like that. Do I say anything? Nope. He worked long hard hours (the first years were swing shift) for 40 years 4 months and 6 days. He earned it and more! I have many not so wise purchases in our 44+ years of marriage, none quite that expensive, but I’ve done my part. Danielle, you have the determination to stick to it and follow through. I look forward to your first online concert. 😁❤ Terri in SC. Sorry for being so long winded. I have to tell a story. No cliff notes. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙊🤐

This is not a criticism or telling you how or what you should do, to me it sounds like you're making your hobbies sound like a job/housework. Hobbies are meant to be enjoyed and done when you feel like it. You don't have to do them every day, you don't have to do them in order, you don't have to do them to a time restriction, otherwise it becomes a chore and not pleasurable which is why we have hobbies. I hope you find the perfect solution, so you continue to do what you love

Primrose Cottage Stitches, my favorite cross stitch designer, they have a quarterly cross stitch box that is called Sip N Stitch, where they include patterns, floss, a drinking vessel, and stickers.
