Sumit, Arendt's suggestion about the importance of participation in pol space to ward off totalitarianism. The partition example is about the 'herd-culture', where people were led by totalitarian psychology of their respective leaders; there was not a tradition of individual talking to himself or herself in a rational manner.

1. Liberalism- laissez faire individual centric
2. Modern liberalism -1950Welfare state, focus on state role
3. Neo liberalism -1970 again denied rope of state but not individualistic as in you said in your video lecture
4. Libertarianism- 1990minimal state individualistic
