Just because some HP products weren't so good doesn't mean they're a bad company altogether. I mean, my HP EliteBook 8540W (W7 Ultimate, i7-820QM, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD) still works absolutely perfectly. I had it for a long time and I bought it because I never ever liked their consumer-line Pavilion laptops (or their Compaq Presario counterparts) at the time. I thought they tried too hard to look sleek and flashy that they turned out to be flimsy and unreliable. Well then, I'm going to hold on to my surviving EliteBook for as long as I can. If it ever does fail completely, then I'll consider alternate brands.
I completely agree with you. I never stated that HP was a bad company or that all of their products were bad. Like I mentioned, people tend to remember negative experiences more than they do good ones, most people could order 100 laptops, 98 of them are perfect and 2 have defects, but they will only complain about the 2 with the issue and likely say that it is a bad product all together. I do believe that pretty much all of HP's consumer grade laptops have been pretty bad since around 2005 or so, and their home end desktops were okay until the end of the core 2 duo era although they were still not up to par with other companies. Most of their upper grade business end stuff was okay until fairly recently, I have an HP pro-book 4530s, which while nothing to write home about is okay. However looking at their website and their offerings today I don't think I would like anything that they made now. If I had to buy a new computer, I would probably get a small form factor Lenovo Thinkstation. They are not as good of quality as the old ones, but still seem to be somewhat okay.
Back when our school used hp elite book revolve laptops we would download wii emulator and play Mario kart wii they got 60fps when optimized and I’d play it in class.

yeah, I really don't like windows 10 and I have no desire to use windows 11 either as it looks even worse and the requirements are preposterous. I don't hate all HP products, some of their older stuff is okay, especially the business end stuff, but that all quit around 2007 or so and then it is all seemingly cheap crap with very few exceptions of very few models.
yeah, it amazes me how flimsy they were. the probook was just cracking apart at the hinges already, and the tablet thing was already missing chunks it was so brittle. and they both took special adapters that i didn't have for that hard drive. I have never liked HP laptops, although their desktops were okay up until 2007 or so.
@@WalterKnox I absoluty agree with these being flimsy I have a HP Pavilion 2 in 1 and the thing flexs so easily I could snap the thing in half with no effort at all and the cooling is ambonial, there is no fan, just a thin sheet of copper being stuck on with thermal paste
@@dwrepository yeah, cooling on HP laptops is a joke and has been for a long time... A while back I got about 10 Compaq Presario cq60 laptops from around 2011 (made by HP of course) and at the time they were maybe 5 or 6 years old, all of them had been used lightly always on a desk, they all were completely dead because the CPU cooler and the GPU cooler are all one piece, with the CPU before the GPU, so all of the heat from the CPU goes into the GPU, and they have fans, but very poor airflow and they don't turn on until the things are pretty much overheating anyway. Every single one of them were bad because they got so hot the GPU came de soldered from the motherboard, this can be fixed by re flowing them, but that is temporary at best. I understand that they were cheap machines, but when they have been used as little and as gently as those had, and they were only like 5 years old, there was no excuse for that. I find that sad because Compaq was once an innovative company that made great machines, but then HP bought them, and if you mention Compaq, most people think of the cheap junk that HP made. Bad impressions stick in people's brains much better than good ones.
Destructionfun with LG Flipity floppity floopity laptops.

The second laptop smashed should honestly win the award of the most cheaply built laptop ever, the thing just fell apart with little force.
Yeah, That is HP for you. Sad thing is that machine is one of their "business grade" machines. Their consumer grade machines are even worse.
What model is the one at 6:51? It looks like a bigger version of the ones they had at my old school…
hp probook 4415s

For the most part I would agree. Some of HP's older machines were pretty good...
