I used to listen to Bob Grant everyday. In fact I had gone to the Reo Diner several times to try to meet him but I never saw him. Anyway, I am really enjoying this video. Thanks for posting!
That's where I met him in 1989.hes exactly the way he is on the air.no acting just plain old Bob Grant.he was very nice to me.you should have seen the look on his face when i asked him if Lynn Samuels was truly like what she sounded on wabc.i laughed my ass off.

ty for this. I forgotten how much I missed him. what a thick skin he had...but don't think he'd let anyone get away with a shot.. he'd let the insults fly. raw talk radio, and no book plugging every other hour like today.

Thanks so much for uploading these great Bob Grant snippets. I miss listening to his radio show, and we could really use Bob now. Can you imagine Bob suffering through the garbage this world has become in the past several years? When he frequently said "It's sick out there, and getting sickerrr!!", he wasn't kidding. Look at how far we've fallen, even since the '80s and '90s. Everything he predicted has become painfully true.

I LOVED Bob Grant!!! I listened to him religiously back in the day. - and believe it or not, I’m a progressive liberal Democrat (center left to be more accurate) ... though I disagreed with his most of his politics, I nevertheless was in awe of his intelligence and loved his sharp sardonic wicked sense of humor. Cheers!!!

Thanks so much for posting these great tapes of the one and only Bob Grant. My only hope is that you have more to post in the future. I posted a couple of couple from the early 90's and am in the process of transferring my other tapes. I hope to post them soon. Again, thanks very much for helping bring back some great memories. Bob was the best.

Heard of this guy from Jim Norton on an episode of O & A. Fucking excellent.
I met him once and let me tell you.he was the smartest, sharpest man I ever listened to.none of his show was staged or an act.he was the real deal.he was a "judge judy" type man.your not going to pull the wool over his eyes and he had absolutely no tolerance for imbeciles.he will have you laughing your ass off telling them off.

The best radio talk show host I know was Bob Grant and the best TV talk show host was Morton Downey Jr. on WOR TV ch. 9 in NYC in the 1980s.
All of you should have heard Bob during the year he worked at WWDB in Philadelphia from 1979 to 1980. This is when he was his most abrasive and his funniest.

You have to be kidding me with that audio quality...
What do you want its AM radio. it was recorded off cassettes in the freaking 80s there were no computers there was only cassettes and reel to reel . AM radio didn't come in that great back then. This was the only one that came out with the sound quality not being that great the other seven volumes all came out good this one was the oldest.it was 1986-87.radio wasn't that great back then to record off of unless it was FM.. a lot of the calls were really funny and entertaining and that's why I included them even though the sound quality wasn't the greatest you know how AM radio is you could be listening to something and hear music in the background it is what it is it's still great Bob Grant. I've been a studio engineer and a DJ for 41 years I tried cleaning it up the best I could in the studio.

@@talkradiowabcdjjohnnyceepr8985 Yes, on AM radio (especially in the early evening) the audio would fade in and out. That's what makes these recordings even more precious--it sounds like it's actually back in that time.
@@jpsned believe me, I am a studio engineer and did the absolute best I could do bring the sound quality to its best.some of the best call ins on the bob grant show were on days with terrible weather which we all know affects the radio waves more on am radio.especially 40 years ago.these were all live shows edited down to the best calls.thanks for listening
