It takes someone with integrity to be aware that by competing they might be a danger to the other competitors and that they can't compete that day because of an injury. What you did proves that you are a real man of integrity!!! God bless you brother!!! Hope you feel much better for the next round.
Hey Matty, at least you went out there and tried. I've ridden Budds when the track is muddy like that, and it isn't easy by any means. I'm glad I found "Super Fan" and "Top Chick" in the pits and got to meet them, and they led me to you in one of the food lines. It was great to finally meet you and get some pics with you, Super Fan and myself along with your autograph. Thank you for giving me your time and some great pics as well as your autograph. It really means a lot to me. Hopefully next year you will be at 100% and get to race Budds. Heal up my friend and keep the great videos coming. You are what this sport is all about. Thank you Matty, Super Fan and Top Chick. 💪💪👍👍
Thanks for the view of the track. This was my second year traveling to Budds Creek for the National. It’s interesting to see how it appears from a racer’s perspective.
Matt, It takes someone with some serious balls to stop and protect themselves from getting hurt or hurting others . Thunk about how bad you would had felt if you fell over in front of someone and they get seriously hurt. If someone gives you shit about not riding it means that they have never done it. Keep your head up you've got nothing to be ashamed of.
Yeah bro don’t risk it out there. Your young and have a long career ahead of you. Remember that nagging injuries only get worse as you age if you don’t attend to them. Moto is rough enough, let yourself heal up and don’t take any risks out there until you’re ready
My first and only ride at that track was after an all night, and all race day rain. Was an area qualifier in 1979. Pond was onto the track where you come back up the hill by the pits. Track doesn't like a lot of water.
You're the man Matty B!!! At least he tried 💯 a lot of people in your position wouldn't even have been man enough to go out on that track. You going to Ironman??
Good call not taking the risk wasnt worth it.. Shattered my collarbone in 5 pieces now with a plate and 8 screws after riding in very muddy conditions..

@@mattburkeen820 Right on man, I love your riding style, you're one of the best in the world man for real. Heal up and have fun 🤘💯
Took me until 51 to stop riding injured.
I used my KDX200 for practice at Budds, it’s always a mess on race weekends.
It was insane I’ve never seen it like this
Smashing it brother keep it going ✌️ I got my self a FANTIC XXF450 love it

Sound's like you got fans out there even with a wrecked knee.
I’ll take it!!
I'm about to get ACL surgery too brother good luck!
No bueno! Good luck to you also 👊🏻
Ya gotta know when to say when! Integrity matters!
This was about that time! Thanks for watching
Good call not taking the risk wasnt worth it.. Shattered my collarbone in 5 pieces now with a plate and 8 screws after riding in very muddy conditions..
Just wasn’t worth it!
Still probably faster than me while the track is in perfect condition 😂😂😂
😂😂🤷♂️
Man I know that sucks being hurt. Hopefully you can get it fixed if the ligaments are torn completely. Have you verified the damage yet?
Not verified but we have a pretty good idea of what’s going on
I couldn't even put any weight on my knee when I tore my acl. It felt like my knee was chewing on cartilage when I did.
Yea it’s not ideal or even close to it
Heal up brother… You will get em soon 💯🙏🙌
Thank you!!
@@mattburkeen820 always a pleasure. Fan 💯🫡🫀
Live to fight another day! 🤘
No choice!
Good job for having a bad leg and a muddy track and how’s that 450 doing for you
450 is great just wish I could ride it!
Yeah I wish you could to so I could watch you ride
Those track conditions do not look like any fun whatsoever....
I just wanted to go out and have fun riding and that was impossible 😂
@@mattburkeen820 Dude For Sure 😂
Props for trying
Did they know you had a bad knee? Is that why all the red cross flags??.what's up with that?
The first lap is just a roll lap with all the flaggers waving and lights flashing so you can see where everything is.
Hahaha nah first lap is just a roll lap to check out the track, but thank you!
Let her eat🤠
🤙🏻🤘🏻
Shit u we’re going slower then I go
😂😂😭😭
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take 💪🏼 better to swing and miss than watch a strike go right down the middle
True!!
