Thankth for watthing!
I'm curious how many cuts would some 15v knife by BigBrownBear @66-67hrc do? That would be a sick test.
Brother Pete I would LOOOOVE to see this ol traditional test done with spydercos new S15V blades hardened up to 66hrc with Triple B's heat treatment method the manix2 has already been dropped and I was lucky enough to get one but spyderco has spilled the beans that they're also releasing a paramilitary 2 and a Shaman in the 15V done the same way here in next month or so! That many HRC points should make a very significant difference in the edge retention not to mention that it is basically custom heat treated specifically for that lol better start stretching the arm and wrist because I think this one could be a new record high up there with Sandarin carbide blades! Also Spyderco released a mule in ?398 very high edge retaining steel also but I put my money on BBB's S15V
Wow yeah this is a crazy good result for only 63HRC if you consider that spyderco ran their 15V at 65.5-67
Well, you have to look at the good side. Now you sound like a proper steel nerd! Way more genuine now.
Every word you speak is poetry!
I thought you were taking the piss out of the zt advert 😂 🤣 🤣 🤣
That was my first guess, I though he had raided one of those stock footage sites!
amazingly it is entirely real, just with a more rugged announcer
Oh, bless you Pete - pretending you'll no longer be a walking joke after your recovery ❤️
I just have to say, hilarious opening Pete. Genius. Had a good laugh
Definition of a man that soldiers on, no matter what!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Pete.
Everybody, this is the one! Everyone share this. This video deserves to go viral. Pete went through pain for this--we have to make it worth it!
Wow! What an artist puts his self through just for the scene! Amazing! Thank you!
What a lovely Valentines gift for your wifey. Like her I hope it heals quickly.
OMG. I'm crying. 😂 Hope you feel better ASAP.
You need to talk like this in every video!! Brilliant! Great ZT ad, you made me want every knife they make.👍
You poor bugger. I thought you were putting it on and 1st. Respect for doing it. Made me laugh, sorry. Hope you get back to normal soon. Ha ha ha ha, sorry can't help it.
I don’t mean to laugh at your condition. I am, however, in tears. 😂😂I feel so guilty!!
Oh man, hilarious. Hope you get better soon! Thanks for still making videos
Beautiful knife! Thanks for working through the surgery. Praying you heal quickly.
One of my sons was born with a tongue tie. The paediatrician cut it when he cried. It was solved then and there. Pete you sure sound special but you have a very special knife as well.
This is pure gold. And today is my birthday! Thank you for helping me start it out with laughter
Hope you heal up soon!
you look even better. get well soon 💐
Glad to hear you are making improvements, Pete. This steel was definitely worth struggling through instead of waiting for you to heal. Still, entertaining as always. Thank you, sir!
I hate to admit how much I laughed during this video. 😂
This is one of those videos where I'm laughing but feel guilty for laughing. I've had a few oral surgeries and know how painful it can be to talk, but yeah I was still cracking up, Pete. The Intro was freakin' hilarious, I watched that like twice in a row. I really like the style and aesthetics of that knife, one of those that obviously can handle real work but could also be a real showcase piece displayed in a collection.
Awesome result!
Hope you have a speedy recovery! 👍
Speedy recovery !!👍
And this friends, is what dedication looks like. Thank you for all the great work Pete.
Great test Pete. Loved the intro buddy.
Man, I needed this laugh today. Thanks Simple Pete
Best video ever! I feel for you Pete but i love the lisp! Couldnt help but giggle the whole time.
Hope you recover quickly.
I had captions on and it made things even more special.
Holy crap!!!!
Over a thousand cuts plus a blister!!!!!!!
That's improvise as heck!!!
Great video. Feel better soon
I can't believe I missed this at the time! 🤣🤣
Knowing this dude I ain't buying any of it. Who's with me?👍😀
I'm so glad you did this video with your voice like this! Hahaha
Cheers to commitment
Solute to the new steel on the block
Damn bro, just when I thought your videos couldn’t get funnier. Get well soon!
Honestly you really are a brilliant creator, you could review but plugs and I'd be like "fuck the production value was amazing"
You are the man Pete. Awesome video. Get well soon brother.
You’re killing me with this post surgery speech impediment!
Really, I admire the heck out of your indefatigable attitude. You are M390 personified.
😂🤣😂🤣😂 Pete, thank you. I pissed myself laughing. For now on if I'm ever feeling down, this video will come to the rescue.
YOU SIR, saved my freaking day...
You got me... I had nothing to laugh about all day... but you got me...
Thanks...
This is hilarious... feel better soon!
Awesome intro loved the whole video buddy.
You are one mad lad to keep filming! I actually kept thinking you’d stop and say “just kidding”.
Dude I can't even. How do I explain to my friends that they should watch this without making me look like a crazy person?
Thanks for the video, hope you've healed well.
15% Vanadium is crazy. I'd go crazy as well trying to sharpen that freehand.
Thanks for sharing and have a speedy recovery.
You are such a brave person. So brave
I just hope you’ve well soon. For an early recovery it is better to take some days off
You’re a true hero, Pete.
'welease wodowick, he is a wrascal, a wobber and a wapist'
Man, You must have received some really good meds! I can't watch this as it is to painful. Get well soon. Cheers
That looks like a wonderful hunting blade. I agree the bolster looks a little busy, but that nessmuk style blade is awesome for big game. Thanks for showing this one, Pete. Hope you heal up fast.
Impressive video all around! Get well soon, dude! ⚔️🦷😁👍
the voice is amazing
Damn, Pete. Sorry to see you in pain. Maybe it was the meds...but that was one of the best cold opens yet. Feel better soon.
Great, thanks. Get well, bro!
Turning auto subtitles turns the comedy to eleven, oh my... "...quite the young yeah quite the world put together piece very nice handle very..."
Even the closed captions could not help me today.
Very nice looking knife 👌🏼, that was very hard to watch though, on account that I was pissing myself laughing the whole time
Good job. Respect.
Awesome knife.
As a plant fibre history nerd, I think sisal comes from the Americas from a succulent plant called Agave sisalania. Similiar to Agave tequiliana and the century plant species you see heaps in gardens here in Aus. I'll let you guess why they call that one tequiliana :) :)
How does it compare to yucca fine, I have found that I can make some really strong cordage out of yucca, but can't tell if that is due to the length of the individual fibers, or their strength.
The captions are pretty great
I still remember when my mom scheduled my wisdom teeth removal, two on one side one Friday afternoon and the other two the next Friday afternoon. I was 18 and had a summer job. She didn't want me to miss work. I bled on my pillow. We're lucky we don't suffer these disabilities long.
Being a dentist, I had absolutely no problem understanding you. Easier than that Ausie accent. TALK AHMURIKAN!!! And heal swiftly!
Captions would have been awesome, great vid!
Vanadium for the win
This was a masterpiece.
that knife is amazing.
Holy hell; what a GORGEOUS knife!🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😍😍😍😍😍🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Sorry for your surgery. But I have to say I have been laughing.
Well done my friend any simple jack reference is a great way to start my day PS you should do all your videos while on Novacaine
I'm dead, I cant stop laughing, twisted sisal rope, try saying that 10 times. O man this is fucking hysterical watching you trying to talk.
Vewy good suh. Dat wuh a good tess. Tank oooh.
Dude... we could have waited for this... I mean, I can barely understand you normally, much less after oral surgery! haha Get well soon:)
YOU ARE THE GOD DAMN MAN!
Haaaaaa.....one of your funnier characters !! 😂😂😂😂😂
If only it were a character 😂
Man I wish we could get a redo of this video with BBB 15v would be cool and maybe I could understand better now😂 still great content 👌
What a legend
Hahaha I needed this today
Phenomenal edge retention, but I bet it's a bugger to work with from a blade smiths point of view.
Gold! Owal surgewy is a pain in the ath.
Heal up quickly!
I dont watch these videos for the laughs as I have no sense of humor. So I had to hide my reaction to this one.
Reminds me of Dudley Moore in 10 trying to be cool with Bo Derek which was a hysterical bit after his trip to the dentist. No style points from the Russian judge but admiration for grace in tough circumstances. A speedy recover to you mate.
Wery gweat bid. Ood wuk un wecovery. Wooks ainful.
you have to do a new video about the cpm 15v ;) there is spyderco now using it.
Ha. Until then?!? I hope you heal before summer ends so you start working the gelati.
Ledendary dedigners😂😂😂😂. Get well soon🙏
What’s bad is it seems Simple Jack is also designing their new knives. Edit.. I wrote this at intro before I saw the whole video
Ith I buy a Thee Tee knithe will it make me like Dames Bond double oh theven?
"I just had oral surgery, no watch this video in which I speak more than normal, because I'm clearly a masochist!" LMMFAO
Seriously, though, typically good video with your signature humor sprinkled upon technical data and theory. Get better soon.
BTW, I would love to see an update video on the Fallkniven a1x and a1xb knives, if you had opportunity to put them to good use. I'm particularly interested in the sharpness, maintenance and sharpening of the dlcs finish of the a1xb.
If his voice don't come back I fear for the doctors safety
Let me help him out. Vanadium carbide is the hardest of the carbides. It is harder than tungsten carbide to give you a reference point. Both are harder than aluminum oxide or sapphire which are 9 on the Mohs scale. Diamond is 10 and it is a bell curve scale. Vanadium is 9.6 on the Mohs and tungsten carbide is 9.4. To give you an idea of the scale let's say sapphire is 70 RC then diamond would be like 3000 RC.
Lol...
How cool is this...
Wonderful episode...
Hilarious...
Thought you were making a Monty Python joke
Thath a thexy knife u got there mate
Pete, have you sharpened it at all? Or 15v steel at all? S110v was such a pain for me, 50 percent more vanadium can't help. Curious if the time put in sharpening is worth the edge retention.
this is definitely an upper tier sharpening level. On fixed systems like KME its not too bad, but definitely would need good quality diamond abbraisives to have a fighting chance freehand.
