- How and why we use Sound Digital amplifiers in our audio builds .
We choose sound digital for their size to power ratio
The size allows us to put amplifiers in places that other amplifiers just won’t fit .
We are not big fans of the 1200.4 or the 2400.4
But we love
The Evox and Evox2
400.4
800.4
1200.2
3000.1
Evo PS
800.4
1200.4
2000.4
These shops mashing on NVS Audio shows that you guys are doing something right. I respect Carlos so much simply because he never smack talk. He reaches out to others to see if he can help. He’s such a rare guy, I’ve never seen this man trash talk. And I’m all the way in FLORIDA getting constant info about what we the consumer should do to improve our devices. (Even though I’ve lost both raffles lol) we gotta stop the bashing and learn from each other and grow. Stand up guy Carlos, blessing..
He claims to reach out to them carlos does good work but i have seen his mistakes in a few videos as well. So one is perfect
I agree. I have a lot of respect for his work and his seeming overall way of running his business. He seems very unbiased when reviewing products too. I think that's my favorite part. I can sit here and watch his detailed breakdown of products and I always finish the video with MUCH MUCH MUCH more knowledge.
Carlos my friend, I am a new and up and coming shop and mannnn I love your university. I’ve learned so much and know that I love the education you give out!!! I hope to repay you one day!!
I installed my 800.4 according to your recommendations. 4awg ground to frame, crimped and soldered, wire ferrels ets Thank You for all your great videos. Keep up the great work.
Me too planning to buy either soundigital 800.4 or banda 800.4 to power 4 midrange speaker of 180 watt rms each. Which one of the 2 u recommend?? I need something which is durable, gives enough power and produce clean music.
I almost exclusively only install 2 amplifiers as of right now. The NVX VADM2 or Sound digital 800.4. My reasoning behind that is how bulletproof both of them have been. I agree 100% with everything you have said. I would like to add..... if these shops continue to install these high powered audio systems on stock batteries their failure rate will continue to climb. I believe you recommend a battery upgrade at 1000 Watts. I do the upgrade at 700 watts just to stay safe. Another great video keep up the good work.
Great point. You really need to upgrade battery. Small price to pay to upgrade to lithium when you are spending $3k plus for sound system
How many options are there when upgrading the battery? Could you add a capacitor or are you talkin about adding a 2nd battery
@@midwestprince153 The short answer to the capacitor question is no do not use a capacitor .At this day and time it is not worth the money and especially the space. There are lots of battery upgrades for Harley Davidson touring models. CCA as well as amp hours or two Very important numbers to look at. Basically the more the better. I would not even start thinking about adding an extra battery until 2400 watts rms. AMG battery up to 2000wrms Anything more than that Lifidium battery only. There are a lot of reasons for my answer but I'm trying to keep it as short as possible. Sorry for the delay in my reply.
@@romesyoutubechannel5356 thanks
@@midwestprince153 I upgraded to the Braille Lithium Battery and I’m very pleases
Exactly why your doing my system!! Awesome customer service and warranty!!! See you Saturday Carlos.
How is your amplifier holding up? What did you get installed?
I have an EVOX 800.4 ON MY ROAD GLUDE. Rrunning 4 diamond audio speakers at 4 ohms each. Amp installed with FOSGATE complete amp install kit. Gain set with SMD DD1. No issues after 1 year.
Sound digital amps are the best amp you can put in a daily rider with a system upgrade. And the fit is in my opinion are great!
Happy you enjoy our amps.
@@diogoiannaccone love them. We are a vendor for sound digital. Nothing but the best for the Harley Davidsons! Let me know if you happen to have any banners available for our booths we run at get together, audio competitions etc. Our distributor is HKI.

Theres a reason your shop stays so covered up ! Keep up the great work
I just had a sound digital 2000 water proof installed on my bike. Within a couple weeks the amp was cutting out. Now I have 2 cicada amps and I’m very pleased.
NVS audio is my shop and Carlos is my guy. I just came from him yesterday 🤣😅. My car is only touched by him and I will drive hours to get to the shop. He's very professional and knowledgeable about his audio field. Thanks again Carlos for all you and your guys do. I appreciate y'all!!!!! If you were like me and was scammed by audio shops. PLEASE GO SEE CARLOS AND NVS AUDIO. You will never go to any other shop!!!! See you soon Carlos after I get my new truck lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂. You know how I like my music
I've learned a lot from these videos. This dude highly knowledgeable, detailed, and operates with integrity. I wish they made more videos about bikes without fairings. All of my bikes are road kings. I'm trying to find a nice set-up for my bike. I only want 1 amp, 1 8" and "6 x 9" in each bag. Any ideas?
Been torn about amps & speakers.seen a few of your videos and bought 2 800.4 and 2 sets of prv6.5 carbon fiber speakers..Can’t wait to install em

Great video I respect nvs audio knowledge and respect goes a long way
I’m getting ready to upgrade my audio again on my Harley street glide and I’ve decided that I’m for sure going with the sound digital evox2 800.4 amplifier… now I just need to figure out what 6.5” and 6x9 speakers will be the best for what I’m looking for in my audio!! 🤯🤯
My 1200.4 Evox failed on a GZ 6.5s and Diamond 6x9s in the lids. I believe it was the install and manufacturer
I can’t speak on the technical side of things, that’s Mr. Carlos expertise, but as a business man I know that if it’s causing me to lose money I wouldn’t supply the product. As a client of NVS audio I’ve had only 2 failures, one being a faulty speaker (which was replaced no questions asked free of charge) and the other being a Sd 1200.4 that I was FORWARNED about from Mr.Carlos himself that it wasn’t one of his favorites and that they tend to have the most problems out of the product line. But guess what, NVS audio STILL stands by their product and will be replacing the amp no hassle no questions asked…And I’m sure he is NOT in the business to be loosing money. So the evidence suggests that SD is a solid product. But more importantly NVS audio delivers a SOLID product and he stands behind it. I REFUSE to spend my money elsewhere. And I’m 5 hours from him lol
Thank you 🙏🏼 sir
Awesome advice and products!
Another great and informative video💪🏾
Love the video my friend. 1000000%
I have a street glide with all sound digital amps with diamond audio speakers sounds awesome!! But I wonder how the Recoil amps would compare to sound digital.
After stumbling across your video, I'm wondering if the failure rate is attributed to cooling issues with these amps. In a breakdown video I saw that the housing itself, like with many amps, acts as a heatsink and has thermal compound between the ICs and the housing. Have you broken down a failed amp to see what the condition of the thermal compound is? In nearly all failed electronics I've dealt with the failures have been either a capacitor issue, or poor heat dissipation.
I intend to build a 6-speaker system for my truck using a 6.5" 3-way in each of the four doors and a pair of 6x9 4-way in the cargo area. Being an expedition rig I don't have much space for physically large amplifiers and have to fit both under my driver's seat, so I've been planning an EVOX 800.4 for my door speakers and an EVOX 400.4 for the pair of 6x9s in the rear and no subwoofers. As part of the install I intend to open up the amplifiers and replace the thermal compound with higher end compound that I use my computers, along with mounting the amps on rubber bushings to absorb road and trail vibrations from my truck (lots of washboard roads). What is your opinion on using the EVOX amps in an application like this?
I have this amp,it sounds amazing but while I was unplugging the jack the jack sparked and my amp smoked. I’ve never experienced anything like this in all my years installing music. I had to buy a new one the 1200.4 evox and these baby aren’t cheap.
I'm coming from Michigan with my bike and looking to get an helluva setup..
Sound Digital is fantastic
I see the focus on motorcycle installs but can these be used in a Jeep that offroads a lot that has limited space ?
Great video
I just watched a video from another shop/ youtube creator.
He stated that the soundigital amps do not produce clean rms power and that is why the amp dyno can only read its peak numbers and not the rms numbers as the rms efficiency numbers are bad. Is this true?
volunteer audio?
I've never heard of this brand... And I trust you ... I want a 2 channel to run two 10w6v3 dual 4 ohms .. I need at least 1200.2 but willing to go 2200.2 not even sure there is anything that big... I've only bought dual 4 ohms in the past .. so I have lots of pairs of dual 4 ohms .. even 12 Alpine type Rs 2200 max watts... I have an old 1999 Rockford fosgate that works amazing ...it's twice the size I want in my little 2008 Subaru legacy....I like the kicker kx1200.2 ... The two channels do not work with the wireless bass knob...it requires a Aux bass knob ... I almost bought that amp a few days ago ... Thinking I can buy the bass knob separate ... But nope it won't even link to it ... Not wireless... And not even wired ... I'm not tripping on price...I just want something that works like a JL, Fosgste, kicker, .. Something that stays cool... When running RMS ... What 2 channel of these amps that you're showing would you recommend for my dual 4 ohm subs to run at 2 ohms
are you familiar with the sound digital evo5 3000.1? i guess it isnt sold in u.s but i got a good deal on one waiting for it to arrive to try it out
Bridging sees half the load, twice the output. 8 ohms bridged is 4 ohms at the amp. If the amp is a 4 ohm amp, full power in 8 ohm bridged mode.
Thanks for the video, I bought the 800.4 sound digital amp (grey case) I tried installing into my street glide with the aquatic av radio. I cannot get this amp to work. I've tried EVERYTHING! I'm only running 2 ds 18 pro speakers, ( possibly more in the future) anyway I had a guy message me and said I have to have splitter rca cables to hook up using both channels , going into one set of rca's to the aquatic radio( which only has one set of audio outs. Does this makes sense? I'm only using 1 channel. What's you professional opinion? Thanks
Great info!
So I have a 6 speaker set up
SD 800.4 running 4 Hertz sx165s
And a
SD 400.4 running 2 Hertz SV200s

What’s up Carlos…..I have 3 EVOXs in the front fairing of my 2021 Road Glide Special…I have a EVOX 400.4 (4ohm)on my horns(EX6NCD-CF), a EVOX 1200.4(4ohm) on my midrange(EX6NCD-CF/EX69NCD)bridged, a EVOXII 1600.1(2ohm) on my 10”s (EX10NMB) and a HKI mini DSP…I’m running 0g ofc power and ground wire from the battery to a power/ground block …Off the blocks I’m running 8g to the 400 and 4g to the 1200 and 4g to the 1600….My first question for you is do I have enough power to run them new euphoria speakers/midbass….Second question is do I have to upgrade my battery and if so what’s the best battery to use…My third question is do I still have to get my factory radio flashed when using your T-harness …Fourth question is will the 10’’s in my bags effect the 6x9 in my lids….Thanks in advance Carlos
Yooooo do you have any pics of you install in the fairing. I’m want to put. 400.4,800.4 and 1200.4 in mines. I have an RGS WITH LEX AMP RACK
Yes you need a lithium battery
I like
The Braille g30h
Yes you will need to flash your radio
Hki mini does not like the high voltage from non flashed Harley radios .
800 watts to each 10 is perfect in my opinion
Yes you will need to baffle your 6x9s if you are running 10s in the bags

Good day my friend. If you are looking to add rims, air ride, center stand, rake kit, I’ll love to do it for you!!!
So i was reading a few forums and it seems the EVO amps are good but the EVO X was NOT as good and the newer EVO X 2 seems to have fixed MAN of the issues of the evox.
My main problem with Soundigital is the low end signal noise, do any of you know how to improve or eliminate it?
I had same problem. I have one 800.4. First thing I did is added 4awg ground to frame. Then removed all grounds from my T harness (radio and dsp) and connected to same ground as amp. When I replaced my stock radio with Sony itt came back. I fixed that by adding two rubber washers to each of the 4 radio bolts . Isolating radio from radio bracket. (Grounding radio didnt fix it)
Now I only have the VERY LOW normal SD hiss they are known for. It cant be heard at low volume only at 0 volume.
@@robleeva I definitely appreciate your advice, will certainly try it out, thx!!

I was planning on running 8" red baskets in saddle bag lids, 8" prv mid bass(4ohm) in bags off SD 2400.4(4ohm) so I'd be better off with 800.4(4ohm)?

Got a great deal on db drive moto 6.5 (350 watt) and db drive 6x9 for bags. Would a 800.4 be sufficient. I believe the 6.5 are rated at 100-125rms and the 6x9 are about the same. Any help would be appreciated.
man, wipe off your camera lens you look like you are streaming from heaven
I went through 3 of them, 2 went out and on the 3rd the fan started acting up. When I got the last 1200.4, I looked at the amp and saw the fan, then was like.... why is there no hole of perforations to allow the amp to breathe on my Amp rack. So I cut a hole to allow it to flow through. Anyone that knows anything about Car Audio understands that amps that can not breathe are going to overheat and amps that do not get the proper power is going to fail. Why every competition car audio car will have a Big 3 upgrade and an upgraded Alternator. Lithium can only give you so much when you are not running the property wire size.
You are 100 percent correct sir
So the 2400.4 is good to go if you install on risers to allow airflow correct?

I recently purchased the 400.4 EVOX and am wanting to run the amp Bridged to my 2 front door coaxial speakers. After reading the owners manual It states I need to connect all 4 channels for the amp to work. But if I connect the amp like this won't the amp run one bridged channel as a front channel and the second bridged channel as a rear? I'm now thinking I should have purchased the 400.2 amplifier. I went with the 400.4 in hopes in thd future upgrading my coaxial door speakers to components. Any help with this situation will be greatly appreciated.
Yes...you need all 4 RCA'S hooked up to bridge both channels. What 2 speakers are you running that you want each to have 200+ watts?
@@TheDolkNess I will probably just run the 2 front channels for now as I'm just running the jbl GTO629's. In the future I will probably switch to a passive component set so then I will run the amp bridged.
